Celtic Cross Pendant Tutorial Part 1
on the initial push im running into my coins slipping side ways. How do I keep it from doing this?
@@tommyreimrock8667 Hi Tommy. For me, I make sure to coat the inside of the dies with plenty of coconut oil. I also make sure the coin is level in the die before I begin the initial push. Slow is better. Make sure to fold slowly. Any of these factors could be contributing to your coin slipping in the die.
@@jpcoincrafts thank you for the quick reply.
Jimmy where do you buy the toppers for the bells. I like the decorative touch with the screw into the topper, can you help me find the best source for these different types? Love the videos. Didn't see where in the description. Thank you!
Chicago Round Head Button Phillips Screw Stud Rivets. You can purchase through Amazon. Varying colors to choose from. Just use search and type in the first sentence. Several vendors will have these. Thanks for your kind words.
Nice work. I've made one and it's nowhere near as nice as yours. Where do you get the toppers .thanks
They are called round button leather screws and can be found on Amazon from many different vendors. I usually order the 8mm size but can also come in various colors.
@@jpcoincrafts Thankyou very much. I'm thinking these will make excellent Christmas gifts if I have any fingers left after all the pressing to wrap them up.🤣
Your use of JBweld has encoraged me to try. Thank you!
Thank you. It gives the piece you’re working on a much cleaner look. Just be sure to let the JB Weld cure. That’s the only downside I see for the folks who are inpatient and need it now.
I like your topper, kind of a more finished look than a hand hammered item.
Brother I know you're a quick and on target!😂
Brother that is too funny!
what size die is the swedish wrap? i have the standard kit from legacy tool but my coin goes right thru it ? am i doing to much on the 25 degree die to start with?
For Quarters,I use the .56-.95 Swedish wrap die. It is sold separately from the standard kit. Still can purchase it from coin ring tools Legacy Brand. You are not doing too much with the 25 degree die, just too large of a Swedish Wrap Die.
Jimmy just want to say thank you for teaching me how to make the Little Bells the heart pendants and tooth fairy boxes . I really love making these. I haven’t tried making the cross, but I will get around to it. thanks again and stay safe.
Phillip, thank you so much for the kind words. Glad these videos have helped you and many others enjoy this great hobby of ours!!! I’m actually working on a future video using a new tool to help make “Cowboy Hat” earrings. Thanks again!!!
Where do you get the presses and the tools to do this
Good job Jimmy. What pickle solution do you quench your silver coins in?
Thank you so much. I use sparex no. 2 granules. 1 oz. of granules added to 5 oz. of cold water.
@@jpcoincrafts Thank you.
Where do you get the toppers for the bell and the tooth box I've looked on Amazon can you send me a link

@@kennethhart9484 Thank you for subscribing to my channel and for your kind words. Glad I could help!!!
@@jpcoincrafts where you get those big tweezers and does the Los hurt them
@@kennethhart9484 www.harborfreight.com/20-offset-45-angle-long-reach-pliers-2-piece-64090.html Harbor Freight and LOS doesn’t hurt anything. I will clean them with 0000 steel wool after using them in my pickle solutions. I also grind down the inside of the plier’s tips to a smooth finish as to not scratch any pieces that I’m working with.
Can you tell me where we find this die the company with a heart for the heart maker maker thank you
Trevor has an ETSY site. Go to ETSY and search for coin heart maker. He has 3 different sizes to choose from and various purchase options.
Thank you very much Jimmy .

Where do you find the toppers? And what are they called?
Hi James and thanks for your questions. They are called “round button leather screws” and you can find many vendors that sell them on Amazon.
Awesome video!
Thank You. Much appreciated!!!
Isn’t it sad that the two tools at the heart of the coin ring hobby, the Harbor Freight 6 ton hydraulic press and 1 ton arbor press, are no longer sold by HF? Another great video!
Excellent coin bell series! You have several techniques that are different than I’ve seen elsewhere, and they all work swimmingly well! The JB Weld instead of solder is a neat variation, and opens up bell making to the masses that don’t like, or want to, solder! I’ve always been baffled by the fact that the smaller quarter bells won’t ring good, but the half dollar ones do! I’ve always soldered mine, but on the smallest size bells I can’t get a decent ring! In closing, great video, and why can’t viewers go to the description to find the topper source? Like, how many people can ask the same question in comments!?! Thanks, and Merry Christmas!
Where did you get your 1/4” punch & die from? I have the Legacy Brand Coin Ring tools punch set, but it only goes down to 3/8”, and they list no 1/4” inch stuff on their website! Thanks in advance!
Hi Tom. Thanks for your comments. I went back and looked before replying and I did purchase the 1/4” punch and die set that went along with the MEGA Set from Coinringtoolsllc. It was an additional purchase. Like you, I don’t see it offered on their website? If memory serves me correctly, I had to contact them and they either had some in stock or had to be a special order item? I don’t believe they advertise it but you might want to contact them. They have always been very good about getting back to their previous customers.
@@jpcoincrafts Legacy has always given exemplary service to me, and I did message them yesterday so we’ll see! I notice several things gone from their website from a year or so back, so they might have discontinued some stuff! Always top quality stuff though! With the exception of coin cowboy hat jigs from Unminted Ltd., all my coin equipment is from Legacy! Thanks for your reply! Top notch videos, by the way!
Fabulous job Jimmy, do u have a shop?
Thanks Mat. I actually have an indoor room that I use to create coin crafts and tutorial videos. I don’t have to worry about the outdoor elements while keeping a constant room temperature allowing me to be able to work year round. Going on 3 years now and having a blast!!!
Great job knocking out carpenter bees . I have a lot of them here in Alabama. I need one of those guns !!!
Just received my Lortone tumber yesterday and loaded a batch of Kennedy Halves last night. Today after 12 hours they look Unbelievable and came out looking like new Uncirculated coins. Your procedure works GREAT!!!
Fantastic. Thanks for the post and letting us all know your results!!!
Great job Jimmy ,can't wait to get started on some of these
Thanks for the comment. Feel free to post photos of the ones you do!!!
Love love love these!!
They’re fun to make!!!
So awesome!!! Very concise explanations and NOW I just have to buy the tools!!!! I have to try this myself!!!! You make it look so easy though…..
Thank you very much. It’s been a fun process. When I first started a few years ago, it took me about 3 days to make a quarter ring but was still a lot of fun!!!
Jimmy, you've outdone yourself once again. I do not own the equipment to make these beauties, but your taking me through this felt like I've done it a hundred times. Just excellent in your explanations and closeups. Would love to one of these days get into this type of work. Thanks again for sharing.
Thank you so much. It’s been fun making the videos. Glad you’ve enjoyed them!!!
Well done video about how much do you charge for one of these ?
Thanks. I usually charge $40.00 plus shipping for Clad or Copper. Silver will of course be more. If the customer wants more than one, I ship free with Priority Shipping.
That's a lot of work...I use to make clad coinrings and changed $20.00 for 0ne . This lovely tooth fairy box takes two coinrings to make it . Very reasonable price you do great work. Thanks for the videos you have made keep up the good work !!!
Great video, thank you for posting
Thanks Tim. Much appreciated!!!
Outstanding as usual!
Thank you!!!
Jimmy, this was fabulous. Any idea when will Part 2 be available?
Thanks so much. Working on it now. Hope to have it published sometime this week.
Hi Jimmy I watched your video I have a domeing set from jasons works but they do not have a nipple on top to mark center that looks very helpful so i ordered a set from coin ring tools they came today and no nipple they are smooth are yours a special order ?? Thanks Rod
Hi Rodney, I ordered my set a couple years ago. All three push rods had a nipple but it wasn’t a special order. Maybe mine was an anomaly? I’ve had others say theirs had a nipple but I guess they don’t necessarily come that way?
@@jpcoincrafts Thank You for the quick response that would be a very helpfull feature I love your videos Regards Rod
Hi Rodney. Thought you could use this to mark the center of your coin with a sharpie before you dome. Even if you don’t have a mark from your push rod, you should have a nice center mark from the sharpie then use your center punch to make a permanent mark. Don’t drill the hole until after you’ve fully domed. unminted.ltd/product/pocket-center-finder-w-optional-ultra-fine-point-sharpie-marker/
I do believe the JB weld makes your bells look great!
Thanks for the kind words. I totally agree that the JB Weld makes the bells look so much more cleaner than solder and is very strong. Haven’t made a video in a while but probably one coming soon making a “pill box”/“tooth fairy box”. Just have had many other projects going on in 2022.
I noticed you haven’t made a video in a while. I hope you are well, your bells are so neat I love watching you make them. They are the best bells I’ve seen!
what brand of press are you useing i have been looking and can not find one i like ?
6 ton hydraulic press from Harbor Freight. I don’t think they have them in stock anymore?
Where do you get the plate with the hole?
Hi Heather. Coin ring tools LLC Legacy Brand. Look under press accessories. It is sold with or without the hole. 5”x 5” size. Recommend going straight to their site and not ETSY. Better prices.
@@jpcoincrafts Sadly he does not have any plates listed in his Etsy shop right now
@@dhduncan coinringtoolsllc.com/product/one-ton-arbor-press-accessory-kit-ram-head-base-plate-urethane-pad/
Can this all be done with just a one ton Arbor press? Thank you
It could probably be done on quarters but anything larger would need to be done with a hydraulic press. I’ve tried with a one ton and it is really tough, especially punching the hole. Folding to a point is ok but extruding the bell through the Swedish Wrap die is also very tough with a one ton.
Jimmy, I just want to thank you again for teaching me how to make these little coin bells out of quarters through your videos !!! I have given away a lot of these little bells to my friends and they just love them . I just turned 73 today and I love this hobby !!! People ask me how I learn to make these and I give you all the credit , thanks again Jimmy and you have a blessed day !!!
Thanks Phillip for the kind words. I too enjoy this hobby and am having a blast creating jewelry from coins. Especially enjoy making coin bells!!! I‘m glad the videos helped you along the way. Again thank you for the kind words. Jimmy
You do aneal the coin first?
I do anneal as I’m making the ring but have not needed to when I form the ring into the heart shape using the heart making jig.
Love the voice! I'm making coin rings now for a few months..I might venture into this..thanks!
Jimmy I just made my first coin bell . Turned out pretty nice after about five or six tries I finally got it . Thanks for walking me through it with your videos !!!
I’m glad my videos were able to help you. They are a lot of fun to make and it does get easier the more you do. Thanks for the comment!!!
Trying this tomorrow on a copper ring. Great video.
Thanks, LOS does really well on copper. Would love to see your results when you finish!!!
Now that is hunting at its best . Get her done !!!
Jimmy , your videos have help me tremendously . I have enjoyed all of them . Just getting into making some rings and getting ready to start making some bells I haven’t done it yet but getting some tools and will be making them soon .Thanks a lot and stay safe .
Just want to say thank you Jimmy for the coin bell videos . I have ordered the tools and I’m going to try to make a few thanks so much !!!
You’re more than welcome. It’s been a lot of fun. Feel free to ask any questions that may come up during the process.
Thanks

Thanks for the question. I get them from Amazon. The link is in the description box.
The 6 ton hydraulic press from Harbor Freight that you, and I guess every UA-cam coin ring maker uses, has been discontinued by HF! None available online now, and very few left in stores! A month ago, I called every HF store within 100 miles of my town looking for one. Finally found a location that had a couple, so after a several hour round trip, I had one!
