I’m finished with this UK LHW era icl. It could’ve (or SHOULD’VE) been great but they’re all well into their 30s now and have hardly fought each other. Craig and Dan look over the hill, Lyndon is Lyndon, Smith and Johnson are retired, Buatsi hasn’t improved and Yarde’s got the worst manager in the game. There’s only so long you can mess the fans around for, it’s boring now. Same with AJ vs Wilder and a lot of fights at HW.

If it’s a remotely close fight (which it almost always is with 2 minute rounds) the judges will be ‘incentivised’ to give Serrano the decision. Jake Paul called the first fight a robbery and accused Matchroom of paying the judges, which is why Eddie got the defamation case going. On an away show I just can’t see KT getting the decision, similarly to CBS vs Zurdo on the Golden Boy / Riyadh show (although I’m less sure about that one).

I’ve been saying for a while I could see Dubois’ quick voluntary being Vianello or Ajagba. Then after that they’ll be looking at the mandatory (Bakole or Kabayel) and also avenging one of Dubois’ losses. Joyce would be more likely than Usyk for that one imo, and with Tony Yoka signing with Queensberry I can see that being lined up as the comeback win to get Joyce top 15 with the IBF.

The thing that bothers me about Benn is we still have no idea on what grounds he has been “cleared”. He’s shown no accountability throughout and the whole thing is very shady.

To be fair, and I'm not fanboying for AJ here, but he did get beaten up badly in that Dubois fight, and I remember watching that, and there was one time when he rolled his ankle in that fight so whether it's that I don't know but it could be that. Ultimately, I think it's a wise move to not take the rematch because the fight was so one-sided, and it was a voluntary defence aswell there's just no need for it.

Incredible performance from Shabaz. He was razor sharp at distance but was surprisingly very clever on the inside as well. I thought he’d start well but gas in the 2nd half of the fight, but he boxed Davies’ head off. I scored it 118-111, so the split decision was disgusting. I though Terry O’Connor was going to give it to Liam Davies but it was actually one of the European judges. Essuman vs Vaughan was a FOTY contender as well btw, brilliant fight. Both men tough as nails.
