Nudge and wink jokes about Jimmy Savile (1978-2007)
Переглядів 1,1 млн10 років тому
Jokes and references to Jimmy Savile's crimes and abuses on TV and radio prior to his death. It's interesting, I think, that the majority of people speaking publicly about what he was doing were comedians. www.overlycriticalreviews.wordpress.com Lee & Herring This Morning With Richard Not Judy S01E01 1998 Skinner & Baddiel Fantasy World Cup 1998 Gimme Gimme Gimme 2000 John Lydon interview on th...
#ThisATrueStory??? Well, in that case We are Super impressed with Mr. Walt Whitman's cameo as the occasional and sometimes disguised foil of the "imaginary friend-0"... Which version did you watch??? *Shrug* ~Mint.
Kirsten Dunst is a good actress.
1:58 Wrong : Fox, Kitten, Monkey, Orcas and Dolphin kills often for fun
If Jimmy Savile is a necrophiliac paedophile, I won't tell anyone, but there'll be signs...
Sick world we live in, this was clearly a well known secret. The powers that be allowed it for whatever reason and you really vote for these people and trust them to have an ounce of care for your wellbeing 😶
I worked in Hollywood for 4 years. Within the first year, I had learned of the bad stuff that happened with Ellen and her show. This was 15yrs before the news went global. I knew, everyone knew, and we couldn’t do squat, cuz we were nobodies, and she was Ellen. Not comparing the Ellen debacle to Saville’s crimes; just highlighting how fast whispers move in the entertainment business, and how little power the majority of folks working there actually have when it comes to holding those with power accountable
And people still pay the license fee...
It's amazing really, shocking. I understand it's very fragile and fragmented , happened over decades but every day I'm still amazed how much Stewart Lee has let himself go.
I think the BBC has a lot to answer for. A cover up at the highest level
Steve Coogan is disgusting for portraying him in a drama made by the corporation that enabled him in the the first place The 🐈
The problem was there was a lot of rumours, but few people had concrete evidence or if they did were scared to speak up fearing either that nobody would believe them or that they'd be punished, lose their careers, be prosecuted for libel without hard evidence, etc.
Such a stupid comment ie where else onlyvin yur ear would yu hear stupid to the extreme
So basically they all thought they were all being a bit edgy but in reality they were all just cowards.
He was protected by the Queen and Margaret Thatcher. Absolute vermin.
Why was he never arrested and who covered up for him.?..its a real pity he was never brought to justice and his victims never had their day in court.
Any one who knew what Saville was up to should be prosecuted and sent to prison in other words every one at the BBC
It’s a shame they knew about it but all they did is made jokes about for laughs. Shame on them
What were they supposed to do? He was best mates with most of the royal family and the top brass from the police force. His charitable works completely insulated him against any form of criminal charges.
I think most of the accusations against Jimmy Savile aren't true. The BBC wanted to be seen as trendy, "Top of the Pops" was how they achieved that goal. A lot of higher ups at BBC, knew the "groupie" situation and they let it happen. They all need to go down...
Luckily my mum couldnt afford stamps when i was 6
Peroxide Ponce!
Just like with P Diddy everyone knew and did nothing because they wanted to protect their spot. Saville was protected right at the very top of the British establishment
Very sick people.
I'll be honest, I was around 6 at the time and was totally taken in by him, its only in retrospect that I can see who he was and what the BBC was up to. We didnt have social media in thise days so people could make false personas quite easily
Nothing funny about Jimmy Saville
Lou & Greta on the porch, him with a shotgun and her with a BB gun, warmed my heart. I'm still waiting for those two to get a spin-off.
Nonce protecting world.
Well done
...they all knew and they said nothing... 😡
I knew about it before it dropped. open secret. Shame he didnt have to deal with the consequences
I love seeing him process the eye for an eye proverb… Love him! And his absolute disbelief on a cellular level of “no shootouts”.
The journalist Mark Lawson tells a story that when he was at a Leeds match in the 80s there was a temporary crowd crush and he remembers someone shouting out "don't die because you'll get taken to hospital and f*cked by Jimmy Saville" (he was a volunteer porter at Leeds General Infirmary) the man on the street knew.
But we put our seatbelt on.
The comedians did their bit in trying to expose him, sadly people at the top the ones that did have the power to bring him down did absolutely nothing. I wonder why.
Go down this rabbit hole and you will realise that they are all doing bad things.
They all knew.
Interesting how these people knew so much so little that by the time he died they just prudently made it about something egotistical and very snobbish.? 0:36
Such a conservative world...
the bbc years ago, decided to get rid of loads of episodes of doctor who, but then still kept, loads of episodes of top of the pops, and jim`ll fix it, go figure.
saville was close friends with the current 'king'. So much so, he was going to help charles and Diana with their marriage troubles...
So many knew!
15 year old girl went to a BBC producers party after TOTP in the mid 70s, got raped, ended up killing herself, was in the papers for about a week. Everyone knew, the same as we all knew what R Kelly had done 20 years before he was actually punished for it.
They knew all along but Savile must have had some hold on them [maybe they were in his 'gang']
Wow Johnny really said it
Frank Skinners face 🤣
The rumours had been around a long time, and he'd been accused and questioned by the police but he had friends in high places, including Thatcher and Prince Charles, and would threaten legal action. So what do you expect comedians to do apart from making jokes. Without any actual evidence, there was nothing else they could do.
Savile could only get away with it because he was protected by the Crown Prosecution Service who destroyed the records of their own inquiries on the orders of
A guy from Leeds told me he was a fiddler in 2007. He was exposed in 2012. Media people knew decades before it seems.
They all knew what he was doing and they all did nothing
If so many people knew, Why didn't anyone do anything? Why didn't anyone come out and expose him openly? Why is it only the BBC that always gets the blame?
Because Savile was litigious, and these comedians didn't have direct evidence of his wrongdoing.
@@Man-From-Another-Place That doesnt wash..No way would he have sued because that would have opened up a whole can of worms. If everyone seemed to know, how did they know? They basically covsered up for him. No one had the integrity to stand up and be counted.
@@tcsl7764 If it was that simple, he wouldn't have got away with it. Also, I knew about it - do you think I had direct evidence of it was well?
@@Man-From-Another-Place It is that simple. It's about having courage to simply do the right thing. I had a friend,I suspected their child was being sexually abused by a friend of their family. I didn't have concrete proof. I contacted social services and told them everything I knew.
@@tcsl7764 Savile had power, money and influence, whereas the person you reported didn't. You see how the situations aren't the same?
Not funny at all !
I wonder how did he get so close to get so much dirt on people that people were scared to expose him? How did he even start conversations to get information he could use?
