Thanks to this video, I'm buying this for my gaming. Phillips owes you a commission. Lol. Thank you for posting this. It perfectly showcases how the product works.
@@CrystalDSmith That's great news! 🙌 Haha! I wish I could send Signify / Philips Hue a commission request based on your comment. haha Jk Bu but all seriousness I'm just glad it's helped. 👌 Enjoy your new set up when you get it and let me know here if it is as good as you hoped. 👍 (Which I'm very sure you will be.)
@@garyshekleton oh man I'm gutted. No 2.1 compatibility. I'm currently gaming up to 120 fps and this limit is 60. I will be getting it when a compatible box comes out for sure
It kills me that he thanks God. That's so deliciously ironic, considering how I'd describe the show as "a universe where God rewards being a sociopath with career, economic, emotional, and social success". Fantastic comedy all around.

@Qasim Zafar I habe direct tv with a dvr box that gets signal with coaxial cable through wall. From dvr box it has hdmi cable that goes straight to tv to get channels..I tried to plug in the hdmi cable from dvr box to philips sync box in one of open ports to sync ligjts with direct rv channels but no luck:
@Qasim Zafar There may be an issue because the signal is coming through a separate DVR box. But I can't be sure as I don't have a similar set up. I would recommend to contact Philips Hue support to confirm that it is compatible with your set up.
Song?
I didn’t know there was a gradient lightstrip! That looks like an awesome experience! I wish I had my own space with a tv or computer monitor so I can experience this with my video gaming and movie watching. I can only hope and try to work towards it. It’s really hard here in California.
Honestly this was the best tech investment I've made in the last two years and really is the cherry on the cake to my TV/multimedia setup. 🍒 🍰 Absolutely LOVE it and can't imagine using my TV without it. The Philips Hue gradient system is just so reliable and consistent and performs so well. It was an expensive enough investment overall (Especially the hue connect box) but was totally worth it in my opinion. I really feel it adds to the overall visual experience and don't find it distracting at all. (I know some people initial impression would be to think it would be distracting, but when you start using them its totally makes sense and definitely makes viewing more comfortable and the accuracy is also very good and differentiates/blends between all the different colours extremely well depending what is on the TV and where on the panel. I've also mine set too "moderate" speed, so the lighting doesn't feel harsh or choppy but it also doesn't feel slow and sluggish behind what's happening on the TV. (For normal TV watching this is ideal) But you can also have faster speed for the likes of gaming etc. Plus, if I ever do plan to upgrade my TV in the future it's easily transferable. Definitely a great investment in my opinion. 👍

Great to hear David! It's honestly an amazing system and with the right settings it definitely adds to the overall experience. Just checked out your own videos using the the lights, well done! 👍
@@garyshekleton Thank you Gary be safe and take care.
I have everything but I can’t get my hands on a hdmi sync box😢
That's a pity to hear Axel, but the as annoying as it sounds the syncbox makes the experience. Maybe keep an eye out on reseller sites etc. In fairness I bought all my Philips Hue equipment directly from the Philips site as they were doing a deal with HDMI sync box and 2 x Hue play bars at the time near Black Friday last year. But there was some people selling the hue sync box as second hand that I noticed after I had bought mine. Unfortunately they are usually very expensive to buy individually if you can get your hands on one.
Are they all sold out like PS5?
Hello. Tell me how to connect? I put all the devices together, but the backlight does not light up. Does not light up to match the screen color.
Hi mate. Ok just want to make sure that you have the correct equipment. 1. Philips Gradient Lightstrip + additional Philips lights. 2. Philips Hue Bridge (+ plus your connected to your WiFi) 3. Philips Hue Sync Box. (This is imporatant as this syncs all your lights based what's sent via the connected source) Once you have the above equipment you connect them all to your Philips Hue Bridge also make sure they are up to date in terms of software. You then create a "Entertainment area" in the "Philips Hue App" You pick all the lights you want to add to your entertainment area and position them within the room correctly. It then tests your lights for you to make sure they are correctly working and synced. Once you have that done you just go snyc box and pick the entertainment area you have just set up. You can also set up the box to automatically start once a connected source is activated or turned on. I also have my Hue Sync app set to intensity moderate with full brightness. I hope this helps. 👌
Photographic memory 😂
Is it possible you could do another video maybe like Starwars: The Rise of Skywalker, or another action packed scene that can show the range of the Philips hue light system.
Oh good choice! 👌 (I actually think I know the exact movie / section to show it off even more.....Sneak peak, it will actually be a star wars scene as I just watched it recently, so watch this space 😉) I should be able to get to do one over the Xmas holidays and will post here. Subscribe and you will get a notification when I have it ready. Thanks again for your interest and hope all my feedback has helped you. Have a great Christmas and New Year's! 😃
Hi Gary thank you for replying. I’m hoping to buy the Phillips sync box and the gradient lightstrip next year (hopefully get a nice deal in the January sales 😄). I already have the Philips hue starter kit with the bridge and two colour light bulbs. Can’t wait to get the sync box and lightstrip as l have a cinema 7.2 surround sound and this will add soo much ambience to viewing films.
Oh very nice, you sound to be in a good place to look about adding to your investment. 👌 This is exactly the advice I was given. Once you have a good TV and good surround sound this is like cherry on the cake! The big thing for me is also the reliability of the system. (It would be no good if I had to constantly be a adjusting / fixing it to make it work) I absolutely LOVE my set up now since I invested in the Hue system. I watched TV recently with it turned off and was quite dull and a lot less immersive. I also find the bias lighting really takes away from the strain of watching TV in a dark environment also. 👌 Also becuase the gradient strip is a diffused lighting in also makes it a lot more natural. There is also music mode/game modes for anyone interested. But I mostly use it for video/music modes myself. 👍
Amazing, soo want to buy the Philips hue lighting system, expensive tho. What size is your tv as l have a Samsung 49inch 7 series tv. How did you find setting it up, I’ve seen some reviews people found it a bit fiddly.
Hi Mango Mingo, thanks so much for nice your comment, it's very appreciated! 😊 My TV is a 55" which technically the minimum size of the smallest version of the gradient strip. I've just looked at my TV and the strip sits up about 4-5" from the bottom of each side corner, so if you were interested I'd imagine the 55" strip would work absolutely fine on a 49" (Plus I also don't have the strip positioned to the absolute top corners of TV either which makes me think it would be absolutely fine on a 49" 👌) In terms of set up, performance and reliability and its honestly being an dream to use! The set up, it's an absolute breeze honestly it so easy. Especially because of the mounting brackets that come with the strip makes it's extremely easy. Plus the set up in the philips hue/sync app is a so easy. (I don't how people are thinking its fiddly or having problems, the app does everything seemlessly?!) Plus the sync box and system have all been updated so much now that I think any bugs that would have been there originally when the sync box was first introduced in 2019 are now completely gone and it's just so reliable and performance is great. Even if your internet goes down it still works perfectly because he uses zigbee with the bridge, sync box and lights so it's not constantly relying on a stable internet connection to work. I also have mine setup that they it can be controlled by a hue dimmer switch and also can be voice activated via Google assistant. The nice option you can set up is that the sync box automatically triggers when a source is started so turns on automatically starts for you. (I have also set up a routine for turning on and off both the TV and lighting system together via the Google Assistant, so eitherway it always works.) Yes one thing about it is that is an quite an expensive system (In particular the sync box!). I bought all the equipment I needed around Black Friday so was able to get it for a bit better of a price but still quite expensive even at that. (The gradient strip itself wasn't on sale as its still a very new product) But I can tell you now from using it just under two months that it is absolutely worth it. But I wouldn't bother to get the gradient strip unless you get the sync box. Unfortunately one really requires the other to get the best out of it. Its very customisable also so you can adjust the brightness colour changing intensity to the perfect amount. I don't find the lights distracting all and feel it really adds to the ambiance and mood of what you watching. It follows the colours being displayed on the screen sooo accurately and love using while my Chromecast is on ambient mode as it follows each photo perfectly and creates a lovely ambience in the room with each photo. I already have a very nice TV and soundbar system with wireless rear speakers so this system was just the cherry on the cake. 🍒 🎂 But I can tell you it was definitely my best investment I've made this year and can definitely give it my seal of approval. Hope all the above helps. 👍
Very nice indeed
