The exhaust is properly broken in where it became slightly raspier, rather than less the buzzy/droney sound upon cold start-ups and when loading the engine on steep hills. The pops and crackles are now more pronounced on downshifts and when on mid-high RPMs. It’s a great sporty sound that is livable as a daily driver in my opinion.👌🏽

Would you recommend after having it four years?
If you’re like me, someone who likes to hear the revs especially when driving enthusiastically, but don’t want an obnoxious rice rocket sound. For my manual transmission Crosstrek yes. For my old automatic Crosstrek no.
Standard transmissions ROCK!
Still sounds good?
6 years and still going strong and still screams through redline!
How long did it take for the muffler to break in?
In my ears somewhere around 500-1500 miles. I suppose I had gotten accustomed to hearing it and became faint after a while.. It still screams at high rpm tho 😆👍🏽
@@ScramblerOfDakota Thanks for the reply. I just installed my executive 10" muffler and noticed a drone when going up hill on the freeway. I thought a few hours on the freeway would break it in but still have a bunch more driving to do. Great video by the way.
@@EERBrc Thanks! Lmk how that new 10” resonator sound after a couple thousand miles. Also, the drone sort of depends on your transmission. I’ve heard from CVT drivers to have a more prominent drone
@@ScramblerOfDakota I have the 6mt. I love how it sounds now after installing it. Going through the gears feels better.
Finally broke it in and I love the sound. The freeway isn't that bad now. I even installed a Hikeit throttle module. Makes the ripping thru the gears quicker and more fun.
Tune that damn rev hang out for your own sake PLEASE.
Yup.
is there any drone?
Very minimal on certain rpm at a specific gear. It becomes white noise after a while..
Why did you eventually take this off your car?
The lease was coming up and decisions hasn’t clearly made, but I just bought it.. so I will help out a local business and pick one up again @namelessperformance if they have it.
I'm thinking about getting this for my 2014 how is it holding up after this time would you recommend it thanks
It held up up well on the 2 years I had it on the car. Good sporty sound and stealth looking.👍🏽
@@ScramblerOfDakota awesome thanks for the reply 👍
Is it worth it? How long is the wait?
I have it, I didn’t have to wait for it as I live local to serge but it’s worth it
@@Danwall155 how do I contact him? And is it worth it on an auto 2008 tsx?
@@Danwall155 yes I want to know too
Got mine done 2 years ago now. I know back in november last year he was on a hiatus.
@@sideshow45 how do you get hold of him?
Do you have the link for the product
Mark G I added the link on the description 👍🏽 Thanks Mark.
Ian Docena thanks!
Thanks for your videos man, love the Nameless exhaust sounds ! Great car handling too :p
Is this Bremerton? I remember seeing your crosstrek, I'll be bringing my Crosstrek this Sunday, if you can make it, it will be fun
Yes it is. Just a heads up, all SCCA sanctioned autox events I’ve attended was always a tough time to pass through tech inspection due to the height of the vehicle. They’ve always told not bring it next time or either lower the car or bring a different car lol. Safety first right? SCCA rule book says the height of the car cannot exceed the width of the car. On the the other hand, SCCA Rallycross down in Toutle WA and Evergreen speedway autox events are more laxed and you get me runs most of the time. I won’t be there since i now moved back to San Diego for the meantime. Enjoy!
i have feeling this wont work with a hitch on, any advice on your end as to if you think it would clear? anything would be helpful lol
Cory Berard yeah, I honestly don’t know that answer and I too am curious of it. :)
After many years, I finally installed a curt class 2 hitch and it does clear the hanger with a little bit of vibration rattling due to clearance. I resolved that issue just by hacksawing the tips of the exhaust hangers then filed smoothly. Problem fixed!
@@ScramblerOfDakota my LP muffler delete hanger rattles on the hitch to this day lol even with the damn garden hose i put on it which worked for a while.
@@CPT_IDPS I did consider shimming it with some sort of rubbber as well but I thought it would just melt. Hacksaw the hanger tips then file it smooth for permanent fix. About a half hour job. You can do it mate!
@@ScramblerOfDakota oh, I got a hacksaw and I know how to use it lol. I just lazy but yea I’m at that point. Thanks for the tip especially after all this time, good shit.
I like the sound, but have you noticed if it there is an increase in acceleration or MPG to your ride?
bovcrx it’s more of a placebo effect more than anything.
Thanks for the video and How's the drone city and freeway speeds?
Ryan Daniels hardly noticeable really. Mostly sporty note.
do tell...how does one "break in" a steel exhaust system?
The muffler in this case will have carbon build up from the engine. Exhausts tend to be louder since they don't have this, once broken in they quiet down some and get a little deeper. It also depends on the muffler design and what is inside of it like stainless wool, ceramic, or fiberglass. Hope that helps!
Sounds great. Is the rest of the exhaust stock?
Cobese yes, everything else is stock minus the charcoal filter in the OEM air box
Shuffle steer 😑
Haha what a noob right?!
I had a simple muffler delete on my 2018 Crosstrek for about 6 months before I had the muffler reinstalled. I didn’t mind it so much as passengers did, but I’m curious how I would have liked this instead. The rumble seems more pronounced with this than it did with my delete, especially in higher RPMs where mine became too raspy. Sounds sweet though 👌🏽
This gives you a slight bit of rumble, though adding a UEL headers will truly give it a more pronounced Subaru rumble.
Would you say this nameless 5 in exhaust is quieter than the Borla exhaust for the XV? I want a little bit more rumble but not enough to piss off the neighbors. Sounds great BTW.
Steve Seuling I personally never heard a borla exhaust in person but this can be tame on normal drives or loud when up on the rev range. Good sound overall mate.
What was your class for the crosstrek? I'm planning on doing my frist autocross in three weeks, but can figure out the class for a stock crosstrek. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
G Louis Novice in the morning session, and Street in the afternoon.
Does this Forester come with unequal length headers?
Austin O'Neal this is a Crosstrek XV and only EL stock headers on the new FB motors so far
Does or did it void the factory warranty? Have the MPG's improved?
Texas Guy it only voids the warranty of the replaced part, and no improvement on mpg. It’s mainly for sound improvement, shifting without looking at the dash during spirited driving/rallycross events..
Great sound! Thanks for the upload. And keep on keeping it flat.
Kirk Niese got to👍🏽
This is honestly the best sounding to me, I think this is what I'll do for my 2019 6mt, what was the price after parts/labor?
Hey Ryan, Yeah, it sounds good as it’s structural design. I found mine on eBay for around $200, then $12 for 3x polyurethane exhaust hangers, that I installed myself with a few basic tools. A shop would probably charge you a flat 1 hour flat rate depending on your location. Good luck with your car. See you on the road!
How has the in cabin noise changed since your video in October?
govna47 I thought the cabin noise became less droney and more livable and compliant for daily driving and road trips. However, loading the engine up hill still generates some drone, but nothing that’s unbearable and too excessive imo.
@@ScramblerOfDakota thanks. I've had my eye on this axle back for a couple months, but no one's done an in car video. That's what I was worried about
govna47 I was in the same boat as you not too long ago, while not a lot of aftermarket support for the v2’s makes for a harder decision. As far as my dd/rallycross needs. This suits my requirements. Best of luck!
haha thats awesome! Autocross isnt always about fast cars... its about getting most out of what your car has to offer
Thanks for your update! I just installed the 5" on my 2018. So the inside drone calms down after a while? Seems to only happen around 1900-2000 rpms.
Terrell Bailey Nice! It took a proper break in roughly about 2k miles before the drone became less boomy inside.
good stuff to hear man ! I've been torn between getting the delete or 5'' muffler. can you by chance do a video later on of a few fly bys ? curious how it would sound in that case
Yeah sure, I can do that.
Not sure if you bought yours but I would go 5" I got the delete and it was too loud!!
Where did you bought those bro? I had a 2019 Crosstrek primium, do you it will fit?,
Clifford john Laeno through nameless performance. It fits 2018+ crosstrek xv
quieter than the delete i would imagine? i have an 2018 6mt and stuck between the 275$ 5'' or the delete for 75$ less... What do ya recommend? It's my daily
Smurfidy I believe so, I was in your shoes not too long ago.. I haven’t been in nor driven a crosstrek with a nameless muffler delete myself, but according to the videos I’ve watched while doing research is its significantly louder, more of a track pipe rather than a livable daily. (Sounds like an awesome raspy rally car!) At the end of the day, we all have our own preferences, so if I were to recommend something for a daily driver car. I would lean towards the 5” resonator version.
You could always disconnect your muffler for a delete experience. I'm waiting on shipping for mine. But it takes about a month.
u shreddin! 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
