What To Do When Your Client Ghosts You?
Why Do Clients DISAPPEAR?! This week, we're chatting about the ghosting epidemic plaguing the beauty world. We're discussing the emotional rollercoaster of having clients vanish into thin air, leaving you high and dry. We'll unpack the awkwardness, explore how communication styles have changed, and, most importantly, how to NOT take it personally!
We'll equip you with the ultimate guide to chasing down MIA clients (politely, of course!) and navigating tricky client relationships. We'll also help you cultivate a 'bring on the drama!' attitude, focusing on what you can control and turning those ghosting incidents into growth opportunities.

Stupid question, how many ISAs can you have?
Not a stupid Q at all! You can have multiple ISA’s at once, but you can only add up to the yearly limit across all of your ISA’s, as the limit is per person, not per account. Hope this helps!
We used to have our xmas party in may lol
Ha! Very on brand for our industry!
Oh god every new years eve my hands and arms would be in agony and id literally only have 1 or 2 days off before starting work again
Yep I got a bad back like clockwork every new year/jan!
Im the same as Hayley, i absolutely hate the whole Christmas period almost 30 yrs in the industry and if I didn't Christmas shop in October i simply didn't have time or energy to do it. Almost 3 years self employed and my brain is still struggling to adjust to the fact that my December's are busy but not manic, no working till late, no working days off. I actually close now for the whole last week of December now and i don't finish the year stressed and sick.
I’ve not done hair for two years and I’m still not used to being able to do festive stuff!
this is gold dust!
Very interesting chat, ladies. I was once getting my hair cut at a new salon in London and the lady could tell I dye it myself. She started yelling across the packed salon to her assistant, "Can we do this one a good price on half head of highlights? She can't afford to do it herself normally!!!". I hadn't said *anything* about what I could afford or even that I was interested in getting it done in a salon. All she knew about me was that I was a 30-something working woman with a slightly crispy bleached head of hair. What she didn't know was that I was also an entrepreneur making over £250k a year net from my business. She totally humiliated me in front of a salon full of people and make a huge assumption that the reason I don't go to the salon for my dye job is that I actually find it a faff and I'm terrible at salon small-talk, so only ever go for a trim. Obviously, I wasn't going to sit there and correct her and tell her how much I make, because I wasn't there to be an ass, I just wanted a blimmin' haircut!!! Anyway, this whole chat is 100% spot-on and it's these types of insights that has enabled me to grow my profit margins very healthily year-on-year, even in this economy. Thank you very much!
Oh wow! Well firstly, I’m so sorry this happened, I’d feel mortified too 🙃 and I really appreciate you sharing this, it’s a great (albeit awful!) example of exactly what people are doing when they make decisions on what clients can or can’t afford!
Oh im definitely a procrasta organiser lol! I like to see things on paper, thats how i take things in. Love stationery shopping 😂 all those colourful markers, post-its etc😂 But i dont do planners, im more a note book per subject 🙈 so i know exactly where to look for certain information
I can't procrastinate with my books/accounts because here in spain we have to present them every quarter (3months)
If you can’t do coach lol
Nooo😂. In my industry we're shamed a lot for having cancellation because it's not ok to do that to 'friends'. Like you say won't take time off because they need us etc. I was bit by a client's dog, their reply was a thumbs up and sort code and account number to refund them
Omg!!! I love this woman. I have resonated with absolutely everything she has said. Clean products, how toxic heavy metals are. Switching off and going on a retreat. July 2020 the best thing i ever did was fly to the uk to go to the fruit festival uk, eating healthy raw food, no alcohol, no drugs, no time for mobiles as the schedule was packed with activities and talks and in the middle of all the plandemic madness just being able to hug other humans was huge and kept me sain in a crazy time.
This episode has resonated with me on so many levels
I'm gona work on this! Good advice!!
😓 *promosm*
But just because you think you're a good person doesn't make it true. And I'm sorry the more money you have you'll think you're giving back and doing good. But really no one ever is
That wasn't what I thought this was going to be. What a shame. I can't stand Oprah and she's so full of s*** wanting to see good people have money well they don't do they and off to the Epstein island. She went but listen to her words because they're wise far out
Maybe you should read "The Wealth of Nations" , the author, Adam Smith explains it very well. In a free society (which no socialist regime ever was) wealth is constantly being created, is not a just static cake that sits there and if some have more, others have necessarily less. Socialist countries never created anything, they just destroyed what was already there before and stifled all creativity. Rich people don't keep their money in a mattress, they invest it or consume it (which is also investment) and as long as their money circulates, it creates opportunities for the rest of us.
Relate to you both sooo much! 100% the Secret might give so many comfort, but for me it can boost this toxic positivity narrative where you’re not allowed to have a good old British moan! And who doesn’t love a good old moan now and then 🤪 I’d say Maddie is more on the ‘woo’ spectrum but both realists which is so refreshing to hear 🙌🏻 I once went to a reiki healing evening where the practitioner told us all how she’d had Crohn’s disease until age 14 until she healed it with positive mindset 😳 she said the reason she had it was because of her mums stress levels in pregnancy. Couldn’t wait to get out! 👀 Keep ‘em coming, love these podcasts 🙌🏻
I'm guilty of thinking my clients "should" know my cancellation policy because I have it plastered on my social media. I don't assume anymore i send it to them directly so there is no hidden secret deal
My mum shares all my post and i haven't even done her hair in years and don't even live in the same country as her. I love her ❤
Sometimes I see people give friends and family discounts and they don't even know their price is discounted, thats even worse
OMG!!!! Im so pleased you've got this on UA-cam. Love you two ladies and this combo is amazing and the info you give out is priceless Thank you
Love this 👏🏻
I’m a salon owner with ADHD and half my team are neurodivergent 🫶🏻 we seem to attract the ND clients too like some unspoken law of attraction, I feel like we thrive off the variety in the job and need the fast paced nature to keep engaged, only thing I struggle with is ALL the admin 😅 great podcast ladies keep ‘em comin’ 👏🏻🙌🏻❤️
Sometimes, I just can't bear the moaning. Fortunately, I can leave it all in the salon.
Hailey thank you so much for your advise on how to cope and try to change how I deal with people who off load on me.

I think I've got compassion fatigue. I've been a barber for the past 15 years and a lot of days I see upto 20 men a day. I'm finding that I can't empathise any more.
