At trick 5, why not A of clubs, trump a club, cash 10 of h, return with A of spades, draw last trump, cash diamonds?

09:22 on hand no.1 you keep saying you were short on entries to the dummy, but you don't need the entries - if you take the Ac then lead Tc you can finesse twice against East - so you gain an extra protection against Q singleton The way you played it, you didn't guard against Q singleton, so it was a bit suboptimal. And you can't cash the Kc first, because then you can only finesse once, and you lose against Qxxx So if you think about it, the best % play was to get Ac and then play Tc and finesse twice - and it so happens that it would have worked out

Paul, I am a Gibbons man through and through. I've been watching your videos since I restarted playing bridge. Recently John Stell videos are being recommended to me, all the time. He is obviously doing something that you are not; with regard to promoting his UA-cam feed. Great video as usual. Thank you.

Also got in too high a contract occasionally; glad to know I can blame the robot!

2nd board, pick up the last round of trump with the Q in the S hand instead of N's K. Then you can start the ruffing finesse.

Dear Paul I always enjoy your version of play and occasionally can get a better contract but enjoy your explanations. I try the contract sometimes before or after watching your efforts. I also watch an American who does the same BBO but his explanation is more a Maverick Style which does not come up to your standard. Keep up good work

On the last hand, does it ever make sense to run the diamonds before trying the AS? Seems unlikely to help against good opponents, but it might give them the opportunity to sluff badly and squeeze themselves.

Board 5 you say that your 4H bid is forcing but the computer doesn't.

The J of hearts on board 4 trick 8 was mandatory. The J would win, whether or not they split. If they split, the 3 is good, without risk.

I scraped 58% this week 🙂 Screwed up the play on board 1.

confusing hearts and diamonds in play is easy. Too bad decks don't have 4 distinct colors.

I would have opened 1 diamond on hand 6, It would have made the rebid a lot easier than bidding 1 club/

opening 1 diamond on board 5 has the advantage that 2 clubs is available when partner responds 1 nt, Seems like a good general rule with 2 4-card minors.

Advice (board 6) about drawing trumps even when they are weak to avoid opps cross-ruff was very illuminating. Good advice. Simple idea: "Don't let the opps make their trumps separately" is something I often forget, panicking with weak trumps.

In board 5 I passed East's X of partner's 2D bid, West raised to 3C, I then competed to 3D, which led W to compete to 4C. It made for -130, which was 67.9%. Strange bots, competing to the 4 level white vs. red. Thank you for sharing Paul.
