With UniFi APs, there are a few ways to set it back to factory default. If you already have access to the device from the software, then the first two steps will work. If not, then the last resort is to reset it on the physical device, using ...

I have virgin media as my router. I’m having a bunch of ip issues. Is there a way to take my switch and WAPs and use them as a router not just a bridge from my virgin media router?
Super helpful! My new device showed up as a client. Used Putty to SSH into the device, and used set-inform with my controller IP. This caused the device to show up under devices and asked to be adopted. PERFECT!
Hello friend, do you have assistance in Spanish?
Just got some udp. Absolutely love them. Now we can i stall gate access and cameras without having to rip up the driveway and rin a cable. Easy powerful reliable
Nice! Glad to know it works great :)
Can these to PTMP or only PTP
Thanks for watching, the Device Bridge Pro is PtP only
Thanks Alex! 😃
😄
Thanks for the video, Finally its working for me....
Glad it helped
I have an M2 set up from my house (where router is) and 30Mtrs away in a stable to two surveillance cameras. Can I unplug the camera recorder in the stables, and plug that end of the M2 into a PC to gain internet access ? or would I have to change settings ?
Great video! That is super neat that y'all used the UISP 2.4 GHz omni antenna with a UAC Mesh. Did y'all disable 5 GHz on the radio, or did the antenna handle 5 GHz good enough?
Hey Jim! Thanks for watching, to disable 5GHz on the radios, we had to make 2.4GHz only SSIDs. However, the antenna was broadcasting 5GHz before we disabled and it seemed to work ok. However, it isn't rated to support it. 👍
@@hostifi thanks for insight!
5:44 To block the Internet Access for a network just uncheck 'Allow Internet Access' in the specific Network
can this adopt and manage remote radios?
I think you guys will be gaining some new costumers. I will definitely be considering becoming one as well.
I’ll be migrating
Big shock. Next step...remove the ability to run a local self hosted controller.
@@VenomKen I mean to be honest it costs someone money, I doubt they will get rid of the hosted controller but I guess the barometer will be when they get rid of the unifi controller. I don't see that happening either. Of all the controllers I have my hosted controller is my favorite since if the branch Internet goes down I actually get a notification.
I used the free rental space for a few weeks for my rental gear until I realized I didn't work well with rental equipment since at least 10 items needed to always be online, since then I have an instance running in AWS that works a charm. I raise and lower it from t3.small and t3.large depending on my needs. $9 a month is a great price though!
Where can I setup the UISP Console "gateway" like the edgerouter in the system tab?
Your link was very helpful. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Is this working for the UXG Max as well?
@@iamjankoch it should! I'll be trying this day after tomorrow when my own UXG-MAX arrives, upgrading from the USG.
Whats the default password?
Thank you!
We have a same at my work. But we forgot the password.is there any way we can reset it?
Hi, I completely forgot how to configure the device for the Omada, so thanks for the tutorial. FYI - it worked for me only after I logged out of the router, before that it failed every time. - the Omada device address is not necessarily at the top of the page, in the case of a software controller you need to provide the IP address of the controller.
Great video! I'm in a scenario where we have an already established outdoor AP that isn't easily accessible and I don't have the password to login, so the adoption won't work. Any advice?
Alex, I have one of these devices and I find the performance absolutly attrocious, despite the cellular signal being strong the device reports a good RSSI, but very poor RSRQ and RSRP despite me being close to the cell site and I can observe a better than 30dB carrier/noise ratio on my spectrum analyser. In theory its Cat 4 modem should give me 150Mb/s, but the best I've ever seen is 40Mb/s, most of the time is is under 10Mb/s. I see the same results on both the Three and EE networks. I see similar issues in other areas. DO you know if there is a design flaw with this product or it is likley I have a faulty unit? As a comparison I used to use a CIsco Meraki Z1 with A Huawei E3372 USB modem (also Cat 4) and this performed really well with the same SIM card and APN configuration. Running version 1.12.1.
Ubiquiti makes a few NanoStation models so can you explain what the difference are and provide examples where you would use them? I am trying to extend my wifi to give me coverage in my garage and I want to make sure I understand what I need before making a purchase. The device would mount outside my house (connected to the router inside) and point directly to the garage that is about 100m away. There is no way to run a network line so I am only left with an antenna option such as this.
How about if I just want to extend the wifi from the house out to a field shack about 100 metres away and I want to use the same settings as the router in the house (ie: same password) and let the house router do the addressing? Do I just leave the wireless security set to "none"? I'm not understanding why you'd set wireless security or is it just for if the nanostation is handing out ip addresses and itself acting as a router? if its just a bridge, maybe this is moot anyway?
I'm looking at doing the same thing as you... about 100 meters away. I have not purchased anything yet as I am trying to figure out the best device to use. Ubiquiti makes a few NanoStation models so I'm not sure the difference between them. I do know that to extend your wifi you would use Bridge mode. If setup correctly it will use the same settings as the existing wifi. Basically you are just extending the existing wifi coverage area. I was looking at a Mesh configuration but that gets really costly. Can you let us know what you ended up using to make this work in your situation.
Are you working on a new version or has one been posted? Thank you.
Has anybody manage to config static WAN IP + Gateway + DNS via the LAN ip address?
Thanks for the clear and understandable video! I have a set of IoT 2.4GHz Wi-Fi devices that need to connect to a local application server on the same LAN, so there’s no need for internet access (no WAN connection on my UCG Ultra). I was able to configure everything and apply your suggestions. The devices are visible in the topology map and client devices list, but they aren't showing up in the main dashboard (total connections = 0, no active devices) or in the radio coverage/connectivity tab. Is this normal? Could it be because I don’t have an internet connection on the WAN port?
can you change the RF power?
The most useless video I've ever seen.
If I buy USW 42W, can I upgrade the power adapter to 60W in the future? Or only 60W and 210W are upgradable?
Yep you definitely can, it’ll work 👍
Does this use the LACP protocol?
Thank you very much!!!
You're welcome!
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
what distance does it cover..? can one use this to do hotspot business for many people
Ugh, that it is SIM locked (in the USA) makes this a no-go for me.
Would be cool to get a splitter in white…
👌
Thanks. Exactly what I needed.
Glad it helped!
Just realised that I can see all the isp provided routers from the neighbours under client devices. Do you know a way to prevent this?
These days, for UniFi, we need a 2.5 GbE PoE sUSB-C plitter in white to match the network devices e.g. UXG-MAX/UCG-MAX to USW-ENT-8-PoE
I also use Poe splitters for this and it really cleans up my cabinets. Additionally if you are a coaxial cable heavy house you can use Poe to power moca adaptors.
Sounds good, it is a nice improvement
Creative way to do this. Nice work
Thanks!
you should use a LiFePO batt
he said the solarpoint doesn't support Lithium batteries yet :(
@@emilianoruiz7681 not perfect, but it works
You guys all deserve a medal for making this! I can finally toss out my old Windows 7 Thinkpad that I have been hauling around because it has the old standalone discovery software (pre chrome). I host my own Unifi controller in the cloud, so I likely won’t be a customer any time soon, but you guys have really done the world a favor with this. Thank you. 🙏🏻
Thanks Dan! 😄
Do you have to pay the monthly subscription? I’ve no interest in wireless updates or remote configurations etc. I just want a mobile WiFi router…
Hey! No, the monthly subscription isn’t required, it’s only for remote management. It functions perfectly well as a mobile router.
@@hostifi thanks for coming back to me, so what’s the difference between this and the Ubiquity UMR Industrial? They are both pretty much the same price.
@@ItsJustPhillip No worries! The UMR Industrial is exactly the same price as the UMR, at $199. The main difference is the Industrial is outdoor rated and that it supports any unlocked SIM in the US. The UMR in the US is locked to AT&T. Outside of the US, the only real difference is the weatherproofing aspects.
@@hostifi that’s great thank you. As I am in the UK and don’t need it for external use I’ll get the normal one! Thanks again 👍
Just to note: To access your portal from the wifi, there needs to be a connection to the controller on port 8088. You may need a specific pass rule in your router to accomplish this.
