Fixing P1682, traction control and ABS going off, 2013- 2014 Chevy Traverse, fuse box replace
After much research and reading horror stories of people spending fortunes on mechanics incorrectly guessing what was causing this common problem on these traverses, this how I fixed it.

How to replace oxygen sensors in a Chevy HHR 06-11
Переглядів 12 тис.Рік тому
This video walks through the process on how to replace oxygen sensors in a Chevy HHR 2006-2011. It is relatively easy and can save you money.
Which one is considered sensor 2? The rear one?
I have the LS model and constantly getting p01682 same symptoms
My nob did not Breck the part that goes on it fell off and the rod part is did not snap but it won’t work even when I put it back on I’m too scared to tell my percents anyone pls help me
I changed the fuse house as you explain here and when I tried to turn it on I couldn’t I already tried to charge it and nothing works it doesn’t turn on anything not even a liz do you know what I could have done wrong?
Did you reconnect the battery? Did you screw both wiring connectors into the new fuse box and reconnect all of the the wires to the top with the stud and nut?

Good information! Thank you for posting. I have an 08 HHR that now has the CEL light on and scan says it's one of the sensor's. Will be replacing both. Again, thanks for your help with this video!
How much parts and labor would someone charge to do this? I have done 3 so far.
A company would probably charge at least $200
Not removing the air filter housing basically ruined the video. I can't make out what you are doing.
I was thinking the same thing 😢
Used this video to help replace our maytag dryer timer, and we were able to replace it quickly and swiftly without any hassles. Thank you so much!
did ur hhr have any errors before u needed replace this sensor?
I did exactly what you showed and easily fixed the timer however now it won’t start or stop where it’s supposed to and it doesn’t turn off on its own. It ran well over 60 min without turning off. Do you know what the problem might be?
I would make sure all fo the electrical connectors are plugged all of the way in. If they are, it might be a defective timer
Can this work with a Kenmore?
Please add that always make sure your AC is COMPLETELY OFF whenever you disconnect the battery. It can really mess up the actuators and you end up with hot on one side and cold blowing on the other. It's an expensive fix, and easy to avoid if you can.
Soak them in toilet cleaner unless they've gone bad
You did everything except what you’re supoosed to do to actually fix this. Im speaking from experience, just trust me. I chased this issue for over 12 months. You do NOT simply tighten the two screws to the fuse box. You absolutely have to add two washers to them. What’s happening is those screws are engineered wrong and they are too long. Cut a washer in half, slip it under each screw and you will never have this problem ever again. My car is 12 months clean from this issue, and it was happening every single time we left. I live in a shitty town with shitty roads and every bump we’d hit would throw our car into “traction control off, stabilitrak off, reduced engine power” and it hasn’t happened one time and all i did was add the washers.
Thanks for the input . That might work for some issues and is worth a shot. From a professional electricians perspective, adding washers certainly would not resolve a plethora of potential issues that could occur within the massive amount of connections inside the fuse box. Replacing the box worked for me.
@@MoneySavingDIY-sl2kh Well, all the issues we’re discussing would be resolved. All the issues are on the same circuits on the fuse box. So tightening the screws with washers secures them so the pins are always connected. A new fuse box oem is what $400? A cut washer is like 50 cents.
How is that a $208 part?! I only paid $150 for the dryer
We were doing laundry last weekend and our timer dial decided to snap off at the plastic shaft. We ordered the replacement timer and just swapped it out. VOILA!!! It works! We are in business - thanks to you!!! Thank you, kind sir!!
Nice work thanks for sharing
Could you remove the air cleaner assy to make it easier to reach the sensor?
The clips aren't releasing for me to access the electrical panel.
Whirlpool stupid for plastic shaft
Mine just broke 😔
Yes, I have a problem 2 I have a Chevy Traverse 2010. You know, make a noise inside the engine and I have a couple light on. I don't know what it is. I tried to fix it. I tried to turn it off. It's not going off. Do you have any solution? For my car, my brother or my sister sorry.
Awesome video, very informative!
I've been experiencing all of this!!! Tried to change relay but no changes. In 1 week I paid $500 in tow bills. So change the entire fuse box itself?
It worked for me and is a known issue with this year. That might be your issue but it could be something else
I ordered genuine GM sensors. The website said they require professional programming. Do you think this is BS?
These oxygen sensors do not require programming
Thanks for posting this! Great help!!
Thank you very much for the help, my friend. I was able to fix my dryer in less than an hour. Quickly, I bought the part at a nearby store and changed it super easily with the tutorial
i just did one of those replaced fuse and car started , i also noticed that wire harness just above the exhaust manifold was leading to the ecm was deteriorating and some of the wires melting together, check that as well
Thank you very much for posting.
I'm definitely have a lot problems
You are a true hero, sir.
Still will hire someone to replace my broken shaft-knob but thanks for the video I won't have to buy a new dryer!
I SCREWED a HANGED screw INTO ine so i could use it TILL my part CAME in,lol SCREWED in TILL it msnygged up and turned The timmer😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Followed step by step!...perfect!
How much is this
About $80
Appreciate the video. I have ths issue and just spent quite a bit having a CAT bank 2 replaced, afrer the dealer assured me that this was causing the issue associates with the reduced power message. Are those screws supposed to bottom out hand tight? Because, I tried to tighten mine, but they continue to spin with little effort at what I would expect to be the bottom. Thanks for the video
The screws are not supposed to get tight. They just bottom out to pull the electrical connector on the back side into place
@@MoneySavingDIY-sl2kh but should they keep spinning
@@TheReelDeal-jq4qt yes
@MoneySavingDIY-sl2kh I'm only wondering because I turned those screws, per your advice and today the engine light is off
@@TheReelDeal-jq4qt yes
I have a 2011 I had the fuse box replaced last September this year the car isn’t running when I tighten the screw at the top of the fuse box it never tightens it just spins what should I do?.
Those screws don't get tight. They are designed to just bottom out snug. That is not why your car is not running
“We have a LOTO situation.”Lol. Excellent video! I followed your advice and ordered the new timer and installed it myself after watching this video. Thank you, sir!!
I have the same lights on on my 2013 Chevy
I got the clips released to the compartment but i have 2 bolts in place holding it together keep me from being able to fully pull down the compartment to get to the timer what should i do about that ?
Loosen the bolts completely. Gently tap the two bolts down with mild force to release the connectors and then it should be free
Plastic shaft is a terrible design. I had the same problem. Thanks for the video.
Have you replaced the fuse box under the dash on the passenger side? This may be why you are doing the same job 4 years later. just a thought, either way thank you for the video. This was very helpful
The relays associated with the codes I was getting are only in the under hood fuse box.
Smarty pants
Appreciate the video, broke yesterday, got the timer , fixed today!
Is there a way to manually manipulate the broken knob so you can temporarily use the dryer in the meantime while waiting to get the part?
I'm currently waiting on part also. We jammed a steak knife in where it broke off to turn, honestly
This was my question too!
I dont recommend this because there are electrical parts that can be hazardous, but I ran a big screw in the hole and used that to turn the dial until the part arrived.
Same question
@@MoneySavingDIY-sl2khI did the same.
I’m having the same problem with my 2016
Thank you so much for this video and giving the websites to get the parts! We don’t have the same dryer but it helped us find the part and have a better understanding of what actually broke 😅
