Because if you are citing BR or HH, or any of the other "clickbait for cash" sites, well....they are ZERO FOR THEIR ENTIRE EXISTENCE in getting ANTHING correct. You, nor any UA-camr, has gotten anything correct, ever, mainly because you either just want "clicks for cash by posting trash", AND none of you actually understand that the NBA is a $100,000,000 annual revenue business that is largely regulated by union rules, and some other very consistent variables, making most "suggestions" by "fans" literally impossible to come to fruition. Kessler is on a rookie contract so his contract status makes him unplayable on a championship contending team. That inadequate contract status makes him unplayable because: A. The refs officiate the game, especially the playoffs, and even more so the Finals, 100% according to union-contract status. Rookies contracted players are bottom-feeding prey for the adequately contracted players. B. Tatum and Brown learned about "union hierarchy" from Kancer Kyrie. Kyrie TOTALLY ICED-OUT TATUM, BROWN, SMART AND ROZIER..............FOR AN ENTIRE SEASON. Those four guys took the Celts, without Irving and Hayward, to within a whisper of upsetting LBJ in the ECF. But the following season when Irving returned, that success meant ABSOLOUTELY ZERO because of Irving's superior contract status. Tatum and Brown (and Smart and Rozier, but they are no longer with the team) HATED that treatment, until...........they received the superior contract. And now they run the team just like Irving and they ice-out anyone with an inferior contract status, (PP/LK/NQ/XT/SH), IN THE EXACT SAME MANNER. (Holiday operates in the exact same manner, and White learned from Holiday/JT/JB.) If you watch the games and actually pay attention, those four players REFUSE to pass to the other five lower-contracted players, in their preferred offensive position, EVER. (PP, because of his newer upgraded, [but still inferior] contract status AND his willingness to take all the EOQ, low-percentage shots that the "superstars: refuse to shoot because it lowers their shooting percentage, and has actually made quite a few of them to give him some very positive national highlight exposure, has managed to tweak his status enough to partially perform with the 4 "ball hogs". But the other four LK/NQ/XT/SH, are COMPLETLEY DISREGARED by the 4 "ball hogs". You don't get "contract status" without talent, but talent without "contract status" is worthless. If Kessler comes to Boston, at this stage of his low contract status career, the refs will just put him on the bench, and when he's actually on the floor, the 4 "ball hogs WILL NEVER PASS HIM THE BALL, and just like Kyrie made JT/JB/MS/TR "STAND IN THE CORNER AND WATCH", so will JT/JB/JH/DW NEVER PASS HIM THE BALL AND WILL ACCORDINGLY MAKE HIM "STAND IN THE CORNER AND WATCH". The only acquisitions that could help the Celts this season are players with adequate contract status to be allowed to fully function in the Finals, and there are not enough minutes on this roster for a player with that status unless Brad conversely purges one of the current players (top 6 contracts on the team JT/JB/Holiday/Zing/White/Horford) in that acquisition. Kessler has no accolades because he's a rookie on a trash team. With no accolades there is no premium contract, and without a premium contract there is not adequate participating "Finals" status. The NBA is a MARKETING AGENCY IN THE BUSINESS OF MARKETING DVPC-STATUS PLAYERS, and to do so, low-level contract-status players are just "prey" for the superior contracted player, especially with the refs calling the games accordingly. Until you separate from your "fanspeak" mentality, and realize that it's a business operated according to union hierarchy, you (everyone) will be incorrect with all of your analysis as the basis for all your "predictions" is totally incorrect. Kessler is not coming to Boston, probably ever, but certainly not this season that move would be entirely useless to the Celt's current championship aspirations. The only potentially doable trades that I see that could be done this season that are within the Apron restrictions AND would bring in a player to fill the hole at the center position, AND that would bring in a player with "championship participatory status", is swapping Zing for Val or Miles Turner. I don't see that happening, but if Kessler were acquired he basically would be another Kornet, Queta, or Tillman, who likewise don't have the contract status to be allowed by the 4 "ball hogs" to fully participate in the offense AND to be allowed by the refs to play championship caliber defense against the superior contracted centers/P4's in the advanced playoff rounds. AKA, currently WORTHLESS to the team.

You OBVIOUSLY do not understand the NBA game. Tatum and Brown are DVPC-status players and THEY run the team while on the court. Mazulla has ZERO status to tell Brown and Tatum what to do on the court. Mazulla is making a paltry $2,000,000 this season (less than HALF of bench-warmer Springer), while Tatum and Brown have the top-status contracts allowed by the league and are combining for OVER $84,000,000 in 24/25 annual salary! There is no business of which I'm aware where the guy that makes $10 an hour gives orders to the guys the CEO hired for over $400 an hour.

Based on KPs then salary range, he was one of the two top dogs, using your logic. Was he the focal point on Offense? Secondly, KP qualified for 37 million plus the following year but agreed to take less, 30 mil a year. That does not make him any less skilled. My points of view have nothing to do with salary ranges...it's about team ball and using each players proven strengths. Jrew Holiday was brought in as a defensive point guard, floor general. Use him as a as such! D White is a very good shot creator and ball handler...use him as such. Same applies to all of the starters. Don't minimize their proven skills to relegate their roles to a higher paid player irrespective position. We are talking about doing things in moderation. There is no reason for Tatum to get the ball in the final seconds of the game each and every time when every player on the court knows what's coming. It hasn't proven to be too successful.

White was personally escorted by JB/JT/Holiday up to a massive contract that he could not have earned without them deferring some of their stats to him for the bulk of last season. Horford is still making $10,000,000 per season to basically play half of the games and to get a legit shot at a second ring. And Pritchard got his contract extension and has been set free on a team with SIX premium contracts in front of him, to the point that he may win the 6moy award this season. Who in that group would be unhappy with their situation? Everyone else on the roster are just filler players, practice players, or "less than practice players", so they have no status to be unhappy as players with their contract statuses are just secondary assets at the moment (ie, the union doesn't care if they are happy.) If you can be more specific and cite your source(s), I'll be glad to listen. But unless you are more specific AND cite your source, you just posted a bunch of nothing. But, Edward Vargas is stating the sentiment of a lot of Boston Celtics fans right now. The team is playing lazy, uninspired basketball. Having the 3rd best record in the NBA, does *not* mean you're the third-best team. Clearly, the Celtics aren't even a top 10 team at this time. You are correct, there's time to straighten things out, but the longer they continue to drag ass out there, and give half effort, the harder it'll be to hit the switch. I knew absolutely _nothing_ good would come from three key Celtics playing in the Olympics. WHO CARES about the Olympics? Certainly not me. And, guys making what these guys make, need to get their priorities straight. The priority is the *Boston Celtics* , not the Olympics. The NBA should limit the players from each team to ONE, to go play in that meaningless tournament every four years. Jrue Holiday, after the very short summer break, is playing like he's 54, instead of 34. At this point, I think the Celtics could bring back The Chief, Robert Parish, and he'd be more effective than Al Horford. Don't be fooled, this Celtic team has a lot of issues right now, and Jay Scrubb isn't going to fix them. I wouldn't mind seeing Holiday and the equally disappointing Derick White sit out a week or two, and replace them with a backcourt of Brown, Pritchard, and Davison. Something, *anything* to inject some enthusiasm into this lifeless team right now. The lazy, lifeless, lackadaisical play in the TD Garden is completely unacceptable to the Celtics fans who pay hard-earned money to go watch their team play in person. Imagine being a poor or middle class parent, who spends years, saving to take his or her family and children to see the Celtics play on The Parquet Floor, and they come out and play like a bunch of lazy punks, and get destroyed by the sub .500 Sacramento Kings, when the talent disparity between the two teams is so ridiculously lopsided, that Boston should've had the game put away by halftime. It's not acceptable, and I stand by what I said before. Wyc should've given the fans who attended that game, a full refund, just like they should have last season when they got punked by the Lakers, without Anthony Davis and The Fraud King. It's time the real Boston Celtics step it up, or else it's going to be too late to just hit the switch.

Correct. They just rifle thru the trash to generate clicks. Reporting on minor transactions or trajectories from lower-level players is legit. But acting like some G-league player who will take at least two seasons to recover from surgery, let alone climb over all the other obstacles between him and a participating slot on any parent team to make any meaningful difference in that team's winning trajectory is just silly. Scrubb seems like a fine player, but all the added hyperbole is just way off base.

Sorry I’m a big believer on a guy who has had to go through a lot in his career and is just trying to get better. “Rifle thru trash” is so disrespectful to say about anyone meanwhile someone who is recovering from an ACL and has been HOOPING since he’s been back. @@CelticsDigest Bruce, many NBA stats are not the result of the player being credited with the stat. Tatum's turnovers are basically a result of him being triple-teamed EVERY TIME HE TOUCHES THE BALL for the reason that Horford and Holiday have COMPLETELY AGE-OUT ON THE OFFENSIVE END. This roster is facing the same issues as prior to last season, not enough size and not enough offensive players on the court with Tatum. So now, just like seasons passed, Tatum now again faces his primary defender, a "chip" defender, and, since the team is offensively challenged, the opposing center just camps in the lane ready to smash Tatum on every drive (a third defender). Teams now know that Horford and Holiday have lost their offensive edge, so they just "gang-tackle" the lane area. Tatum only shot 3 free-throws last night. Why? Because Sabonis knows that he doesn't have to guard Horford so he just planted himself in the lane and shut down any drives to the basket. Just like in seasons passed, Tatum was once again faced with the reality of driving into a triple-team, stagnating on long-range forced jumpers, or passing to players who can't score even when nobody is guarding them. The statistic "turnovers" is just like "assists", it is a very misleading statistic, and most people are just too shallow to see the actual depth of these dynamic statistics. Tatum's turnovers last night were just a by-product of him having to work in a smaller box and alongside team mates who couldn't take advantage of their "larger box" created by Tatum drawing a triple-team every time.

Bro, you can’t just count three-point attempts… Look at his field goal attempts he was 5-16… And turn the ball over eight times which gives the opponents eight more shots than you that’s huge dude especially in the NBA we’re little details can swing a game. Yeah other players didn’t make shots but the defense was ash and Tatum turn the ball over eight times man and was inefficient

I don’t know why people get so mad. If someone puts the blame on Tatum, it’s not often he gets the blame from our Celtics Podcasters. Sometimes he does make mistakes and mistakes in the NBA lead to losses.

The last few games Brown was a large part of the issue, but he seem to clean it up this game, it’s not only on Tatum you are correct they do need to hit shots but when you’re most Michoud in three-pointers, it can be rather inconsistent. I’m speaking about Houser and Prichard, who mostly take threes. Also. We can’t put much blame on Prichard. His contract is a very small portion and he is doing more than enough. He carried this team for the first 15/20 games with his crazy shooting. I’m starting to worry about holiday tho… dwhite has been shooting well lately so can’t get mad at him for 1 bad shooting game
