They have a new silkstone launch at Mattel. Sad to say it’s so uneventful. I’m disappointed to say that Robert Best has disappointed us all. Looking at this “Sundays Best” one of its simplest designe it still out shines this new launch.

I have two of these. One I know for sure has the face that yellowed out with age. I have to check on my second one she might be the second edition that did not fade to yellow. Mattel. I think offered replacement heads I think.

Oh yes, I really like vintage bubble cut Barbies, her haircut is referring to them. Nowadays she is not so cheap anymore. I regret that I did not buy her earlier, there was always something else 😅

This was the launch of the articulated silkstone. This was the end of the affair for the silkstone collection.

The classic bubble cut blond . So under rated. This doll was one of the cheapest to purchase off of secondary market. But look at her she is just striking.

This one was also made blond for a convention. The chestnut brunet is the winner!!!

The ginger FAO edition silkstone few are lucky to own her even some of us are lucky to own two. OMG the closest you can get to BFMC heaven with this creation.

FAO exclusives were always so in point with fashion!!! Love BFMC!!!

It’s hard not to fall love with the best of Robert Best at Mattel. Yes that’s right try not to and you will see you fall right love with this creation.

This collection was by far one of the most well thought out and executed collection. The theme a luxury cruise ship where every one is wearing haute couture!!! Omg yes yes yes.

This is one of my all time favorite. Show Girl!!! My hear be still!!! I had to buy duplicates of this one. When One Doll, is just not enough.

Maria Theresa, this was Robert’s Best sisters wedding dress he created for her. Then created it for the silkstone collection.

I bought all three in the Palm Beach collection. This fourth one I skipped on. Still not for me but it’s just as wonderful as my beloved other three.

Robert Best created some of the best sillstone ever made. He was a genius and understood the adult Barbie collector to the fullest.

Silkstone collection one of my most coveted collections of Barbie, I got to collect so many before the secondary market went out of control on pricing. So beautiful, so detailed and so luxurious. Love true love.
