This was a really good film. I appreciate the expat perspective and local perspective. I'm not sure why more people aren't interested in it. Maybe because I also speak french but there are subtitles folks!

It is slow moving. You can see what they were trying to do here, what they had tried to make. It's not bad, there's plenty of hiccups and missteps, but you won't be disappointed. It paces kinda like a 70's film. some action takes place off screen and that's not a bad thing.

This movie looks really good n crime/psychological thrillers have always been my favorite genre. Is there a version or a streaming app that may have it with English dubbed over it(like in Netflix’s Money Heist, where u can tell by their mouths that they’re speaking a different/foreign language but the words u can hear are in English) or am I going to have to watch with English subtitles?

Film magnifico e un po' pazzo, come del resto i migliori film brasiliani. Quando inizia la parte cantata è semplicemente straordinario. Interpreti perfetti. Credo che piacerà molto a Almodovar.

Anyone knows of a small book that tells the exact same story??? I found it in a small library in Rethimnon, Crete, 20 years ago and binge read it on the spot. The author is from France, or Spain.. can´t remember, as well as i do not remember the title of the book... There are no credits of it at the film, but it is the same.. I watched Last tango in Paris after watching this. Story is a bit same in a way that it was made in France and it was May-December relationship like this movie. But man!!!! what a different time now. Adele is a beast, occupies space. I feel like she was more dominant than Guillaume. When you look at LTIP, Brando is all over the place, he's the beast there, occupying everything and Maria is just wandering around him. He is extremely misogynist, narcissist control freak and treats Maria bad but she keeps going back to him. And who does not know the infamous controversial rape scene which was thrown at Maria without her knowledge. I'm glad that the world is more receptive to woman empowerment now.

I could not relate to this movie…the ambience felt gloomy, Paris looked dirty, and the actions and reactions of the protagonists came across as highly improbable. The acting is formidable, and only the French can make a film with minimal dialogue, and the realities and psychology of every day people as plot.

The detective is just s**tty at his job. Lol any detective with good eyes would have caught on with the psychiatrist who was the real killer. Heck even I suspected him from the beginning. The dude just gave off creepy vibe but the detective didn't caught it? 🙄
