Hey Lovelies! I’m sharing my Updated Wash Day Routine to stop itchy scalp, reduce inflammation, and reduce hair shedding. After consulting my doctor and dermatologist, I found a routine that works for me.
I’ll also share details about my prescription treatment and how I’m now focusing on holistic solutions like reducing stress, eating whole foods, and improving rest for better scalp health.

Why did you not use Mousse? Does the results not last as long with mousse? I’m asking because I just tried a similar style with mousse
@@cierrafarmer3246 Gel is just my personal preference for this style. I usually just stick with what works for me. Mousse probably works just as well, but I usually use gel to smooth my hair down.

I love gray hair too. I just wish mine wasn't spotty (which is why I color it) or at least give me a choice so I can style it to my liking. Right now it's just disrespectfully in random spots. lol
Hey girl, Hair stylists have told me I have fine, soft hair. Even when it used to be chemically relaxed the product only needed about 10mins to work. Then, I was left with super flat hair that wouldn't hold volume until the frizzy roots grew back in. So I only had 'nice' hair for about 2 wks b4 it was time to start the cycle over. I'm a 67 yr old black woman who doesn't want an afro lol. My daughter convinced me to stop colouring and chemically treating my hair. I've shortened it too. Now its natural, grey and dry. It looks awful! I prefer smooth soft curls and I enjoy styling it myself. I use product and heat protectants 1. What temperature should my hot comb be set at to rid me of the frizz? 2. How can I get the straight effects to last longer? OR A. If I decide to shave it what comb number should I use on the clipper? Your work is beautiful!

I been doing my research for weeks going back and forth about doing a big chop to start my natural hair journey. I’m 35 and this will be the first time being natural since a little girl lol. A big step for me. I just want to say thank you for this video! And your other big chop videos! I’m truly grateful!
Thank you so much for watching my videos! I transitioned out of my relaxer for one year (wanted to keep my hair long). Cornrows, box braids and two strand twists really helped blend the two textures together. Detangling my hair took FOREVER which is why I just cut it off after 12 months (the STRUGGLE was REAL). Growing my hair from a big chop has been great because the hair is much easier to comb with just one texture. The challenge with the big chop is the extreme choice of long to short hair plus the adjustment to your new texture. What helps the most during my big chop journey is 1st, mindset: reminding myself that this is me and I am enough. Having a positive mindset towards myself helps me embrace my natural hair. 2nd, sticking with the style that works best for my hair and lifestyle. Wash and go’s define my natural curl pattern and is the most low maintenance routine that I can do on my own. The most freeing thing I hope you remember from this comment is your hair is constantly growing which means regardless of the path you choose (the transition journey or the big chop journey) you hair will be growing with you and at some point you will be back at the length you are most happy with. Very, nice. I been lazy doing my hair since I retired. 2022. I trim my ends every 2 or 3 weeks. It grows fast. I keep it jelled in 2 parts now during summer. OMG I am so sorry to hear this. Coming from someone who has struggled with self image, I can totally relate. Sending you virtual hugs!!! You are not alone and you can and will get through this. You hair is growing back right now as we speak. ♥️ It is true that we are not our hair but it is also true that our hair is a huge part of our image. I know how it feels when I’m not happy with the way I look, I tend to be self conscious and have to encourage myself. I eventually try to find humor in the situation to not take myself so seriously, lol. I just prefer to live happy and I have so much to be grateful for that I don’t want my insecurities to ruin my day. With that said, I hope by now your hair has grown to a point where you are comfortable with it and you have found a style that works for you. What helps the most during my big chop journey is 1st, mindset: reminding myself that this is me and I am enough. Having a positive mindset towards myself helps me embrace my natural hair. 2nd, sticking with the style that works best for my hair and lifestyle. Wash and go’s define my natural curl pattern and is the most low maintenance routine that I can do on my own. If all else fails, there is always wigs, lol. I rocked a wig for about 9 months after I failed at trying to trim my own hair (this happened during my 1st natural hair journey). I took my wig off as soon as I got home from work every day. I washed and cornrowed every two weeks. I eventually went to the salon and got my hair trimmed evenly. Then I cornrowed my hair with extensions for a few months until it reached shoulder length. That worked for me at that time. Now I just do wash and go as I’m growing my hair back. I prefer low maintenance styles now. Remember to stick with what works for you. Your hair is constantly growing which means your hair will be growing with you through this journey and at some point you will be back at the length you are most happy with. 🤗
I just did my 4th big chop & this time I wanna enjoy it and keep it short instead of trying to grow it back,. The biggest con for me was learning to style it, but now I always feel put together with my one style
I agree. After my big chop, I kept my hair short for 5 years and loved it. The coiled TWA worked best for me and I definitely always looked and felt put together. I’m so glad you have a style that works for you. That is key! I hope you continue to enjoy your journey.

I cut my hair short at 25. I continued wearing it short for the better part of ten years. I found a few of ways to style it. I loved my short hair and learned to cut and maintain it myself. I was able to freely experiment with color since damage wasn’t much of an issue because I was cutting my hair so frequently. Being a working mom at the time, short hair really worked for me. Plus, I went swimming on a regular basis. Short hair really brings out your features and accentuates the length of your neck. It’s something I feel women shouldn’t be afraid of. ❤

If you’re considering a big chop, just tell the barber you want a #2 all over and clean up the edges. They will know exactly what to do if they are an experienced barber.

I want to cut my hair cause I've been depressed for the last few months and I feel like doing so will make me feel fresh and new, but this video has challenged me think about it deeper.
