This video does a great job explaining why Apple ended their buy now, pay later product. It's interesting to see how market dynamics and consumer behavior influenced their decision. Understanding the reasons behind this move helps highlight the challenges tech companies face in the financial services sector. It's a fascinating look into Apple's strategic adjustments.

Hi Shelby, I think you did a great job explaining this topic. I like how you explained how the Buy Now, Pay Later service can enhance the flexibility of payment for users. I also appreciate how you mentioned that Apple would still manage the transactions of users who utilize the Buy Now, Pay Later service to ensure they can pay off any loans they might have. Your thorough explanation really helped clarify the benefits of this service.

Thanks for sharing, Shelby! The adaptive payment methods that companies have obtained are such an important emerging technology, being that online shopping is the preferred method of shopping these days. As you mentioned, covid-19 only increased the amount of online shoppers, which launched companies into acquiring different payment styles. It is super interesting to see companies such as Apple with Apple Pay who are leaning into collaboration with companies such as Clarna to deliver payment options such as buy now pay later, or even the option of installments. The change is a smart move in my opinion, because the convenience that it offers to consumers only drives their willingness to shop. I definitely think that we will see this more and more in the near future, and I would not be surprised if this option was offered in-store soon.

This is so cool to see it play out live since this just happened. I appreciate you being on top of the popular tech news. I do wonder why they outsourced it, maybe less on their plate will be better for them and more flexible payment options. Buy now, Pay later is great until it is not. A lot of buyers may put themselves in debt by accumulating so many Pay Later payments. I wonder if Apple and Klarna/Affirm had an agreement for Apple to leave the market. They also do not have to take the risk of missed payments. They also receive a percentage of the purchase when banks are used through Apple Wallet features. So, maybe they are wanting to gather the fees without having to do the work of creating/managing a bank and Buy Now, Pay Later loans.

Great Video! This discussion on the evolution of social media platforms was thought-provoking! Over the past decade, these platforms have become pivotal for news dissemination and free speech globally, while also presenting significant challenges.

Over the past decade, social media has evolved into massive platforms for news, speech, and more. While there are many benefits, there are also drawbacks to having such large and easily accessible platforms globally. Additionally, the laws discussed in your video illustrate how technology will be transformed or altered for future use, impacting all its users.

Law concerning social media is of wide scale debate and will be until cases put end results and provide as stare decisis. Social media is a place where users and businesses can interact and promote themselves, so it can be dangerous when protecting freedoms and deciphering what is right to do in many of these social media issues. Not everyone will probably ever agree, but legislation must be enacted to protect individuals and businesses alike.

I really enjoyed listening to your discussion on an important current event happening in our world! Social media has turned into a group of ginormous platforms for news, speech, etc. over the past decade. Where it has many pros, there are also some cons that come along with platforms so big, and so easy to access worldwide. In addition, these laws discussed in your video are just an example of how the technology will be transformed or changed for future use, which affects all its users.

It's crucial to balance free speech with moderation on platforms like Facebook, UA-cam and Tiktok. This is such a huge debate that has pros and cons on both sides. These laws and cases will determine how we advance forward with other emerging technologies approaching as well.

This is an interesting way to address emerging technology! It seems that social media may not be considered an emerging technology anymore, but there are so many technological improvements to social media apps, like AI and censorship. Where law and technology meet will always interest me since it will always be changing. We need to stay more in front of these technologies, not wait 2+ years before we address it.
