Motherhood is a Communal Act with Cat and Nat
In this episode, I sit down with Cat and Nat - podcast hosts, co-authors, and best friends - to talk about blending families and what it’s like raising seven kids between the two of them and their spouses. We discuss how they came to such an integrated way of living and why non-judgment made it all possible, how our culture isn’t set up for communal support, and why it truly takes a village to raise children. They share the most exciting part about parenting teenagers versus the hardest part, how they navigate social media with teens, and why they’re developing a course on parenting and social media. Finally, they talk about the advice they’d give their younger selves with young children, why we often forget to embrace who we are as mothers and put so much pressure on ourselves to change, and how they do (or don’t) maintain sex lives with kids in the house.
Key Takeaway / Points:
How they’ve blended their families and why non-judgment made it possible
How our culture isn’t set up for communal support
Why it takes a village to raise kids
On the most exciting part about parenting teenagers

On the course they’re developing for parenting and social media
On advice for their younger selves with young children
On embracing who you are as a mother
How they fill their own cups
On maintaining a sex life with kids in the house

Things I Wish I Knew Before Having a Baby
Переглядів 368День тому
In this solo episode, I share what I wish I knew before having a baby, from never being able to have the “perfect” timeline for having kids; to how friendships and relationships might evolve once you become a parent. I talk about the intensity of having your priorities completely shift to another person and away from yourself, why it’s so important to find what makes you feel like “you,” and wh...

“Why is Applying Full Body Sunscreen in Public so Humiliating?” Vacation Recap and Laughs with Lucy
This woman is very weird and rude. I bet she was a very freaking annoying dinosaur as a baby🤦♀️
😂
So, you can't put a sentence together without using the word "fu*king?""
Correct
"I used to care about things that do not f*ing matter" Should be on a Mother's Day shirt. so true.
no truly
Thank you for this ❤ I don’t have children but this was very informative.
so glad you enjoyed!
Pill pushers really you think addreall helps with stress hsha no
Hahaha... Women.
this is like the truest thing ever, my adhd was a condition that triggered my depression but lots of doctors and therapists are afraid to treat adhd before depression and it ends up looking like untreatable depression when I could have just been doing different work
Does “treating the ADHD” mean pills or meds?
Could be, can also refer to behavioral therapy and developing coping mechanisms that can help mitigate its impact.
Love Bri! Such a great conversation
❤
Wow, I would never have guessed your palette. The colors look great 😊 n you!
HELL YEA GIRL!!!!! 💚💚💚💚🦅🦅🦅🦅
WOOO
You can still wear black! Just try to keep it away from next to your face in too solid a colour. If you pair black pants or skirts or even tank tops with other lighter colours, scarves, jewelry, or tops, you don't have to get rid of everything black.
nothing like a good cindy episode!!
agreed!
What sport did your Mom play? I heard her say she was an athlete.
lacrosse and field hockey!
This episode made me want to have a similar conversation with my parents and in-laws. It’s obvious honesty is so important in your family and I admire that so much!
that means the world to me! excited for you
I have those same symptoms and had a surgery to find endo. They found nothing. You cannot be diagnosed without a laparoscopy. This doctor is just wrong. If she was right then I absolutely would have endo. They still don't know whats wrong with me because there isn't enough research done on the womans body.
But the progesterone makes me severy depressed.. and i cant afford the operation.. so im weighing up between being in too much pain to function or being without pain but too depressed to function...
...Don't ... You definitely don't want to be stuck in this realm cuz you pumped out a baby and recreated Karmatic debts.
Why talk about food and other stuff when the video caption is “how to get rich”. Why tf would you think we’d want to listen to your small talk ?
This is so wise of you to say that😊
She’s good!
Sure enough, feeling how it began to shrink and eventually disappear within 2 months was so liberating. I followed the steps I mentioned, and within the first 2 weeks the bloating was gone. I simply go'ogled Tilly Strankten's Ovarian Cyst Guide and it's like I hit the feel-good reset button lol.
I watch you and I’m def not close to being a mom. Your attitude and personality is just fun to watch. And ya know, if I have a kid in 5 years, cool I’ll know more 😂
loved this interview!! but i do feel like a lot of it was just u talking ab yourself
thank you!! and thank you for the feedback
Girl you have got to stop interrupting 😭
You rock all of the mid to deep denim blues - lucky you!
Connor saying "oh the big four" killed me
no same I was taken aback for a second because I was like "is this some name for those 4 states I wasn't aware of???"
You interrupted him the entire time 😂 he couldn’t finish a thought
Where are those jeans from? They’re so cute!
thanks! levi's baggy dad - my FAVORITE
cam love this outfit white is a good color on you

thank you!!
Loved this conversation!
thank you!! me too
Black can easily be replaced with charcoal gray which is beautiful for summer people any kind of grey. I don't miss black at all why should I when charcoal grey is so flattering. 😅😊
My black clothing works for my summer self after I've laundered it for 10 years or so, lol.
The way she takes care of herself is inspiring!
Agreed!
This was a beautiful story, thank you for sharing it with us!
Thank you!!
I wish this was "not designed to support women & families" instead of support "women". Just takes the edge off, no point waging war against men who are equally confused as they navigate fatherhood in 2024. Women's issues are family's issues. In the same wavelength of "this / and" spirit :)))
Thank you! 🩷
glad you enjoyed!
came from a tiktok clip, really interesting and important conversation on something I haven't thought nearly enough about! love it
thanks so much for the support!
This was fantastic. thank you.❤
