The animations, the sound design and the WEIGHT behind every ability in this game gives me goosebumps.

The fight itself makes no sense with story continuity. But in terms of actually fighting the literal Eye of Sauron, it’s epic.

Luckly the game good enough to not be ruined by this strange boss. They should have keep Witch King of Angmar as last or Mouth of Sauron at Black Gate

Love the game but the final level was stupid. It makes no sense theyd be fighting the eye. Shouldve just made the black gate the final level and just fight an endless wave of orcs till the ring is destroyed. Maybe make it an increasingly difficult wave level and fight with all six heroes at once

This is by far the most boring fight of the game. I'd rather the game just ended in pelinor fields or had a final "wave battle" outside the black gate, would have been better than literally fighting saurons firey eye 🤣

wish it showed an ending with the characters that u played as over that. Plus i agree! That final boss came outta nowhere and i was like..where'd Aargron go lol! But other than that this game was awesome! Just beat it today and got 100% today!

Use the item morgul decay on Sauron, and his armor goes to 0. Then your attacks become much stronger.

Such a cool game, honestly kind of ruined by the final boss. Not for the fact that you fight Sauron, but the way you jut show up on Bara Dur and fight his flaming eye is just lazy and comes out of nowhere. I'm not exactly sure how one would end The Third Age, but anything would have been better than this.

Working towards True Shot and Gondor Rampage before this battle as they are DAMN strong. Haven't played this in YEARS and doing my first playthrough on my Gamecube emulator

Sauron was NOT a giant floating eyeball on the top of a tower during the Third Age. He had a body and personally tortured Gollum, who described his hand as having four fingers.

Litterally couldnt pass the helms deep mission and i took it back to hollywood video when they asked why did i want to return it i said it was too hard.they did not refund me the money

A few comments: 1) the item Morgul Decay entirely removes a foe’s armor, better/more efficient than many iterations of “shatter armor” 2) if you send someone down the Shadow Crafting route, the “silence” spell there works on the casters in the back and entirely removes the threat of the fight because it targets the whole enemy party 3) I think Morwen can steal an axe from Gothmog here 4) if you kill all of Gothmog’s allies, he calls reinforcements. If you silence the back row and kill the other front-row guy, there are never new reinforcements

This boss fight literally came the fuck out of nowhere. You finish off the battle of Gondor only for Sauron to magically teleport you on top of Barad Dur. Probably one of the times I’ve dropped my controller in disbelief

I've heard they had plans for an extra part of the game where you'd travel to mordor and actually climb the tower to fight sauron's eye but they were pressed with time and rushed it so you kind of just pop into the fight after the battle of Pelennor fields.

This game just kind of gives up on any semblance of narrative cohesion by the end of it.

Since, both Eowyn and Aragorn took on Gothmog in the extended edition, it would've been awesome if there were two more battles with him in this game

I wish they'd make this game backwards compatible for Xbox one, I don't think I'm the only one who would buy it in a heartbeat.

This seems pretty rushed. Like they had a certain dead-line to keep. I was expecting after Pelennor Fields to jump to the battle at the Black Gate. Instead without any explanation your battling the Dark Lord himself atop Barad-dûr.

If you use Haste of the elves on everyone Sauron hardly gets any goes. Makes things a lot easier.

Did the elves really disappear or is it some kind of koolaid mission that ended with them dying of dehydration.

I don't know how, but when I had this game, unknowingly buffed up the spear guy up to where he was immune to Darkest Fear and Paralysis of Light and knocked out 95% of Sauron's health when he did his multi-hit combo. Dude was a beast.

This battle is the hardest part of the game.

I love how they just appear there without any explanation. Has a similar vibe to the mecha agent Smith boss from path of neo

I remember that part in return of the king when a dunedain ranger attacks the witch king with a lightning storm

This has still got to be one of the most "just why" moments in a game, yeah I get it, it's an RPG and they want a "big final boss" to end it on..even if it makes pretty much zero sense, did Sauron teleport us to him?... maybe?, did we die?... "err maybe, or maybe not I dunno just watch LoTR's instead, peace!"
