My players are starting in on Wave Echo Cave tomorrow, and i got excited and drew up a full size map with the shattered obelisk scale... so double the size of the original. It's massive, and I'm looking forward to running it for them Also, i had to crank the CR and rework the encounters, because they've been mercing everything i throw at them. There's now a roper, a black pudding, some vegepygmies and russet mold, and my favorite... nezznar transforms into a drider after they defeat him the first time. I'm also putting a morkoth in area 16 as an incentive to come back later

Fun addition I had the cultists start as humans, kobolds, dragonborn, and elves Overtime they recruit orcs, barbarians, yuan ti, and lizardfolk, and gnolls Each with their own rogues gallery of captain/chief/generals Given blue robes to signify their alliance I find it helps spice up the combats Also The party has a chance to seek out each faction before or after indoctrination to attempt and recruit them as well

I like handing out magic items. Many magic items I give out are "consumable" / have a limited number of uses. I've also had items that pass through the party's hands. I accomplish this by having the PCs trade the for other (better) items, as well as trade them for favors, such as Raise Dead or to get information. I've had thieves steal items from the party, and even had NPC party members steal items while they were on guard and then run off!

I've given out way too many magic items but now they're going to lose them all in the mist on the way to ravenloft

How long does the spell last?

I think I could be difficult for the beginners' group. I also think the group would have to race to defeat Kelek with no time to rest. I think the magic characters should run out of spells slot quickly. I'll try to get it rolling for 5 or 6 beginner players by adding a bit of folklore. For example, on their journey at the beginning they could meet the puppy's owner, asking them to retrieve his lost dog, alerting the group that he is suffering from a certain disease..... Do you have any ideas on how to make this one-shot even crisper? Have fun folks ;)

So turning yourself into a beast and taking the damage yourself is not vegan, but conjuring animals to fight for you is? And I can think of 10 ways that these are less vegan than other options. Like, a regular druid of the lands is more vegan

These aren't horrible. I would seriously use these. These are way better than other garbage they have put out. This produces a much better, far more approachable, and normal message than many they have published. Sadly many of their members are lost in absolute absurdity and hypocrisy. These are so good I think I will print them off to go with my players handbook.... Just as soon as my printer is fixed.
