@@emilysanders5020 Thanks! Yeah, Keith Jarreth is awesome. His album “Koln Concert” is also very good. I just saw availability of Danny Infantino’s “more…songs” has gotten scarce but he has other great sounding albums. Vanessa Fernandez is worth checking out.
I've never heard of sacd's before you mentioned them. The players are expensive but I found a Sony UBP-X700/M Blu-ray player that plays them for $158 at Crutchfield. Gonna have to pull the trigger!
@@punkhillbilly3869 Most SACDs can play on a regular CD player. SACDs usually have 2 layers: stereo and multi-channel. So maybe you dont even need to buy new if you already have one. If you do buy, you dont have to buy an expensive one. Sony have pretty good ones like you mentioned and maybe second hand Oppo.

Great suggestions not sure if you could have the 'actual' tracks you describe in the background whilst you describe it with copyright but it would elevate the content.
@@hoonhog28 Thank you for the comment. To be honest, I always wanted to do that, play some of the tracks. In fact, I did that on my 2 videos about WIIM amp but I got a notice that my videos are blocked on some countries. I’m just new at posting videos on youtube, so I was not sure how this ‘copyright’ thing will affect me. Anyway, I will try to include actual tracks in the future and see how it goes.
Mmm i noted that you push the plate of your digital player manually to close it with your fingers, that have grease stain. The button exists for this work. Bad bro.
@@karlos_gg9992 Thanks for your comment. You have keen eye! To be honest, the smudge is not because I push the plate to manually close it. My oppo is old so its already having some issues. Sometimes it does not open when I push the button. I have to lift up the plate just a little to help it open. I’m currently in the market for a new CD player. Any suggestion?
Why are you unable to open a CD case? Do you not understand how to do this?
Am i going crazy or is Shelby Lynn's vocal sibilant on a track on that album? It sounds like the microphone is being clipped or something. On the Daft Punk RAM album you can hear the difference between the tracks done digitally and the ones done to analog tape.
@@crazyprayingmantis5596 Hello! You might be referring to track I Only Want To Be With You. That track have dynamic range of -0.02 to 12.59 dB (according to tests available online), which is less than the other tracks. That is a test on CD of original release. The CD layer of the SACD release on 2012 has less dynamic range compression. Yes, the daft punk album is so transparent that you can notice that if you will pay attention. Thanks for the comments! I really appreciate it.
@@jimthedinosaur Yeah that might be it, all I remember is one of the tracks at some point makes me cringe because the vocal is incredibly sibilant but it's only for a few words if I remember. I thought there was something wrong with my stereo the first time I heard it.

audiophile cds is there a thing as i have for free lot´s of very good turntables but cd players the best i got was a late 90´s cec belt driven and only in 2018 ,i discovered that was still for sale without improvements and costs 36.000€ but i have others well known but nothing beats my turntables and records , the better power amplifiers and speakers i own the far gets the sound of cd from the records ,also why not already changed the cd format ,in the 80´s the DAt was and his incredible high quality why they did sell pre-recorded minidiscs with inferior quality to cds and cd s still the 70´s developed digital format ,DAT tapes were a better format to sell original music or the SACD i remenber them saying that will have records quality but ,they are in the market for some years and they seem more worried with the surround SACD´s then stereo SACD, i bought a light grey brushed aluminium sony SACD player ,only because it stayed for sale in a big surface for a year or more and from almost 1.000€ i once went there and i saw 120€ i asked if that cd player costed 120€ and they said yes, i brought it home but a two channel sacd at the time were the first players to appear and for sure as a very good sound but the problem with some guitar sounds and not only like separation of channels and music with a lot of tracks recorded seem more dificult to be digitally played , i have a big vinyl colection but started in the 60´s and cds only started to buy more in 93 as i went to a store to buy a cd but when there i saw other album just released i had to have so i instead of buying a cd with the same money bought two records and i heard in a friend system who don´t want to use records he as a Macintosh system that was very expensive and bought also some La Scala from klipsch , wich if it was i , it would never be my choice to join new hi-fi material with 40´s released speakers ,only new and when playing a cd i notice hiss, but i won´t tell him that with so many money spent he as nothing and i think he saw it in a video as he doesn´t seem that inteligent but lot´s of money to throw out, maybe i would put a good tube amp. to fire the re-released LaScala and a good turntable that i already have but not a new expensive signature, rotor turntable just plain and simple but good turntable as i have 28 of them and none is bad ,i platy now records in a SL-1000MKII bought in 79 with the original catrtridge and pre-amplifier made for that cartridge and still have around 7 new stylus to change bought then but my favorite one is a thorens from the 60´s professional line with several upgrades including a old cartridge that was very expensive MC one , as amplifier i´m using two M6 mono blocks with a M3 control amplifier from Pioneer exclusive series and two speakers twin 2401 also from exclusive Pioneer series where i have the thorens hooked and a P3 from 79 also from pioneer and a open reel deck from Studer ,that was in my father´s home studio wich records with perfect sound, now that he pased away ,my brother and sister told me they didn´t want his old "stuff" including old cars colection that when i was 25 i couldn´t touch either ,hi-fi or cars that he owned but now all is mine and i do touch everything he got, the last thing he bought was a complete burmester system that technics had to come and install all in his listening room but only as a turntable and a cd player, i don´t want to lie but i think he paid 150.000€ for it, sounds perfect but 150.000€, i´m yet to change my family to his house as he separated from my mother in 1982, the SL-1000MKII costed almost the same of a BMW 535i ,that i wanted at the time but the reply i got was "the 76 523i isn´t good for you ?"and i had to shut upp and swallow that pill, as i have a 76 top end component system from Pioneer that when in 77 he bought a very expensive REVOX/Studer system he had to offer me it, or my mother would had left him in 77 not in 82, the kid needs a good sounding system to hear his horrible music, when he made 96 years old i went to congatulate him and took a offer when entering the house i started to listen britney spears and i thought my nice is already here but no , he was the one playing very loud a britney spears cd and when he saw me he made a face like if i had caught him shooting heroin, so i heard crap all my life and his jazz records and afrobeat also tango were great but Britney spears , i told him "you pervert, you´re getting old and dementia caught you" and he kind of laughed for a second, now i also have a britney spears cd, oops i did it again is my favorite track a for the words c for the music, but also have all fela kutti recordings and the live in tunisia by art blackey and the messengers also buddy rich big band albums , so i´m happy but i still think cds could be improved
Thank you for sharing your story. I agree with your thoughts on Vinyl vs CD. CD to me is just more accessible and budget friendly so it allows me to hear more albums. And with the modern technology there are a lot of albums now that sounds great in CD
@@jimthedinosaur only old recordings ,including the 90´s the vinyl sounds a lot better as i bought many albuns till late 93 when starting to buy more cds and i was using a non 70´s new and expensive system ,all at the time costed me what today is 10.000€ as i wouldn´t be happy with a less good system than my 70´s expensive systems, but i felt like if i had been stolen ,when playing a new cd in my totally new 90´s system, i was sad and feeling bad after spending such a expensive system i had steril sound, i even conected a belt driven 74 Pioneer turntable from a special series that still looks new with such a heavy use, all made of metal and wood and bigger and better built than at the time PL-12D or PL-15D, only the change of speed and stop button were in baquelite or a very hard plastic without lifter for the arm, with a simple Pioneer cartridge the PC-30 /PN-30, had better sound than a Linn cd player that costed me a lot of money, the reason why i only bought a better turntable in 96 , the thorens TD2001 with Ortofon cartridge MC type in blue ,the mkII , this when ortofon meaned quality assured ,now most of the cartridges are garbage in comparation with old cartridges and stylus, like hours of use for a expensive stylus , before was years of use and when noticing a litle less quality of sound ,normally in the last tracks of one side of the record(with more time of recording) ,i used to put a new stylus, i have still a lot of new stylus as my father when having to drive to Lisbon ,he used to buy each time 2 or three needles for the turntables and today i got still several new closed in the box old stylus, now i have to drive 400kms to do the same, or repair something simple in a component, like changing belts but when 15 years old i used to change belts to whatever deck someone asked me to ,today it seems i got nervous when doing the same, also don´t have a place to work or tools to do it, but DAT is digital and my 80´s deck records and plays far better than a cd player or minidisc deck, this last also with inferior recording quality and i have six top end models, two pioneers, a denon , two sony, a nd a kenwood, the denon i have read about it and some magazines , the most known said "better than any ES from Sony" but i find better ,the pioneer and the kenwood , but all are good, as in the 90´s i had and still have it stored a sony radio minidisc player with a 10 cds box, bought it cheap ,kind of a big box with christmas ornaments and only 250€ at the time converted, but one of my favorite cars still as a good cassette player with very good sound so i have where to play the compilations i made in the last years in cassette ,recorded from spotify with 12 seconds of crossfader , lazyness wining as it would be a more hard task to get all records or cds i have for the compilations , the best recorder from spotify is a denon DRM-800a, i tried several better decks but the recorded sound stays improved in the Denon without calibration but seems to have what they call coloured sound and i put off all software that could change the sound on my laptop and has a good sound board or DAC, Altec Lansing ,that i know from the first studio monitors my father had in his studio when assembled in 1970 , kind of JBL sound as both brands are related, i think, sorry for my long coments ,i think age is to blame

@@allanharris4281 Thanks for pointing that out. I was debating what to call them or how to describe them. I mean “celebrated by past generation but not getting listened to much by the current generation.” They represent different points in music history.
I was going to comment similarly. I listened to Rumours only last week for example. These are all very famous and not forgotten at all Velvet Undergroud are if anything more popular now that ever.
OK, we all hear differently and I am going to get burned, here. I had never heard Dark Side of the Moon. So I listened to it, today, in ultra high def, on Amazon Music. What I heard was a lot of electronic gimmicks, a massive amount of noise, a ton of distortion, and little actual music.
