Rainy days are for shopping 💁🏼♀️🛍️ No but seriously, I needed to get out of the apartment and get some new inspiration. 48 hours is too short to enjoy Istanbul! Cisterna Basilika, Prince's island, etc. I needed 10 days to visit the most important sightseeings! It was awesome! ❤😊
Hello from Canada! 🇨🇦 Just subscribed. I loved everything about this vlog - including the length. I am here for Norwegian content and relatable work and daily life vlogs.

I'm from the UK and lucky to have visited NYC 3 times during the Christmas holidays each time and it really is such an amazing experience just as you have shown.. (but it is so cold so you definitely need a nice warm hat! lol) I agree with everything you said...even just walking around to see the lights and Central park to see the ice skating.. you really dont have to spend much to have an amazing time! I hope it snows in time for Christmas Day to make it even more magical! Love your video! Have a beautiful Christmas 😊💗
@@grantmail4112 How wonderful - lucky you! 🤩 You are right, bring a nice and warm hat for sure!! And gloves! Wishing you a wonderful Christmas 🥰 (And yes, please let it snow! ❄️)

Morning from Hawaii that a good video on. New York holiday magic
Good morning to you too! Thanks for your comment. Have a great day! ✨ (Here in Norway it's bedtime soon 🥱)
Do you have other recommendations for what to see and do in New York during the holiday season? Please share in the comments! 🤩👇
Great video! I just got back from turkey last week. And already love the vibe. Eating candy during midnight in Istanbul is heaven!. I did tht too last week with no guilt😀😀
Thank you! Hahaha, glad I wasn't the only one eating candy at midnight 😅
But 48 hours is not enough for istanbul. 😄
I totally agree 😮💨
Turkiye Christien, turkey is a kinda bird. Thank you for the video. By the way why do you go to a moroccon restaurant in Turkiye? It's like visiting a Russian restaurant in Norway.
You're welcome, hope you enjoyed the video! Haha, I like your question. We actually didn't notice that it wasn't a Turkish restaurant until we got a table and at that point we didn't want to look for another one. But good point. The food was good though 😄
Hoşgeldin 🇹🇷
Thank you! 🙌
Great video. Glad you enjoyed your trip. See you next time here.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video!
is it safe in dc to roam at nighttime?
Hi! When it comes to safety in Washington, D.C., at night, I think it largely depends on the specific areas you’re in. Some neighborhoods, particularly in the downtown core and popular tourist districts like the National Mall, tend to be relatively safe after dark, with plenty of foot traffic and security presence. Personally, I have never experienced anything unpleasant during my time in Washington, D.C. However, like any major city, certain areas may pose higher risks, especially after hours when fewer people are around. It's always a good idea to stay aware of your surroundings, avoid poorly lit areas, and stick to well-trafficked streets. I've also never been out very late at night alone myself. If I were, and if I'd been in an unfamiliar area, I'd personally chosen a rideshare service instead of walking or taking the metro for example. Hope this helps!
thank you for taking me with you! 😭❤
My pleasure! 🥹❤️
Why do you care what Americans think? Maybe the real question is: what do Mexicans think? Since it’s a Mexican dish?
Great question! I made the video when I was living in the U.S., so I wanted to compare the taco I'd eat there to the version I make back home in Norway. Also I didn't know any Mexicans, so really I had no one else to ask haha. But it would definitely be cool to hear how Mexicans would rate the Norwegian taco 🤩 My guess is they would't be impressed, or even recognize the Norwegian version as taco 😅
Thank you for this beautiful share.🎉
My pleasure! And thank you for your comment ✨
So fun ! When we stay true to our inner child, we will have true joy in our lives.
It was so much fun! And well said - you are completely right. I'm happy to finally having realized that 🥹 Have a great new week, Jamie!
Have you been to any Christmas markets so far this year? If not, where would you like to go? 🤩
Aloha have fun for at the market have a good thanksgiving too
Thank you so much! And happy thanksgiving to you too! 🤩
Lütfen türkiyeyi tanıtırken arap müzikleri kullanmayın biz arap değiliz... Türküz....
Thanks for your comment! I always try really hard to find the right music for each video, but I have to admit it’s difficult sometimes. Especially when you’re not too familiar with what kind of music is played in one country versus another - to an untrained ear they can sound similar. But I appreciate your input and I get your point!

Welcome to Turkey😊Napoleon has a saying: If the world were a single state, its capital would be Istanbul. Your video is short. You haven't visited many places and tasted many foods.😅
Thank you! I think I agree with Napoleon there 😄 Yes, 48 hours were definitely too little time to fully explore Istanbul and its cuisine. Will have to go back sometime! Do you have any recommendations for what to see and eat? 🤩
@@kristinesolhaug Of course, I can give advice on this subject. Tomorrow, I will watch your entire video in detail and send you a message with my missing suggestions.
That would be great thanks! Please add the info here, I’m sure other people would appreciate your advice as well 🙌😄
haha its not about the recipe haha but when you were there you were so mindful and present and cakl and your dopamine level was so low so when you go eat it just clicks .. iam glad you had a good experience, btw you are glooooowing <3

Thanks for your comment! Although I have to admit I don't know for sure what the evil eye symbolizes 😅 (After what i've read, there are some different meanings and uses depending on where you're from - am I right? 😊)
@@kristinesolhaug Turks generally believe that it protects against evil-intentioned, bad-energy eyes (gazes)🧿🧿🧿🙂
@@kristinesolhaug The majority of Turkish people believe that evil eye beads protect against malevolent glances that emit bad energy. 🙂🧿🧿🧿

Actually, we drink water after finishing the coffee. Since Turkish coffee is drunk without being filtered, there will be coffee grounds at the bottom of the cup. after finishing coffee we swallow it with water 😊

Fun video! I really enjoy your vlogs. I went to Kuşadası on a Mediterranean cruise many years ago and fell in love with the apple tea they served everywhere. I tried to find some online but it’s definitely not as good as what I had there!
Thank you so much, Amy! I had to google Kuşadası now and it looks so beautiful. Hope you'll find a tea that is just as good eventually - or maybe you'll make it an excuse to go back to Turkey haha!
Have you ever been to Istanbul? What's your favorite part about it? 🤩
İstanbul doğumluyum...Nisantaşı,kadıköy,taksim,galata kulesi,üsküdar,çengelköy,bebek sahili,cihangir favori yerler...
I was born and raised in it. My favourite spots were Taksim, and Moda coast. I left once I finished uni and never returned as a resident even though the entirety of my family lives there. It remains the most exquisite city on earth for me but only if you’re a student. As a professional, I thought better by choosing to live in Samsun, another big city on the Black Sea coast, but way less crowded, polluted, and expensive. I fondly remember Istanbul, and my years growing up there, the way you remember a significant other whom you once loved dearly, but had to part ways nonetheless. Well, your video made me emotional I think, reminding me of the times I had…🥲 And dang, that’s my favourite, favourite Istanbul weather! 🥰
Thank you for sharing! Will check out more of these places next time in Istanbul 🙌
@@kristinesolhaug you should, two days is not even halfway close for experiencing Istanbul. Stay blessed!

Northern mexican here. If you wanna cook tacos, flour tortillas is completely OK and it's a mexican thing. It's a tradition in northern Mexico to eat flour homemade tortillas.
Tortilla de harina no es taco, es burro, mmm ni por que Somos del mismo Rancho 😅😅 tacos son tortilla de maid, estos weros comen tostadas pero les dicen tacos
@@mortiel84yeah its more like a wrap or Burrito with flour tortillas. But to each their own! I definitely think you gotta do corn tortillas for real tacos
To be fair Latinos don't actually like "American Tacos" ... Mexican tacos the only way!! and with the Hottest sauce available lol... Its so cool that Norwegians actually made tacos part of their tradition now =D
