God Rays - Cinema 4D, Redshift Tutorial
Wouldn't it have been better to put "Forester" in title too?
cool!U genius!
Thank you! Useful
Excellent tutorial, just what I needed. Many thanks!
Short and to the point. Love it!
Good setup! Make sure to put the noise texture directly on to the light itself instead of shining it through an alpha source. It's much faster in your renders to have it in that way! Remember that the light is throwing out rays that then get blocked by your object, but if you put it on the light itself as a light texture, it will instead turn on or off the lights in those areas directly.
tnxx! retarted cinema 4d
outdated menus/language as of 2023
It now goes into geometry opacity instead of overall opacity colour
My render window is saying Custom AOV 'Wireframe? cannot contain surface shaders, I cannot work the solution
I love you! thanks! was looking for this! Coming from octane, so much to leaaarn
yeah great tutorial, Mat Haughney Thank you!
It doesn’t work on my cinema4d
@katusha384 Im using 2024 doesn't work too
"Overall" is no longer available. What has replaced it?
It goes into geometry opacity
amazing video, hope for more coming soon! ^^ left a sub :P
Glad I could help 😊
Exactly what i was looking for thank bro !!
good
Thank you bro. I went through so many other tutorials that are unnecessarily complicated. This is all I needed to know.
Yes, thank you for the quick and simple video!
How do I do this WITHOUT redshift?
what is your render?
Very cool
is there a workaround for hdri link please
HDRI link just allows me to view my HDRIs in a browser, you can just link them directly onto the dome light by selecting a file directly. If you need some HDRIs, look up “Poly Haven” for allot of free ones!
can you provide ufo 3d file ?
This is exactly what i needed, thanks!
im trying to make a mask with AO node to create that gradient from top to bottom, but it just doesn't work when i plug it into blend material
I think I would just use a ramp node and another material, and change the angle so you could apply a darker material towards the top or bottom of the mountain if this is what you want
This is a great tutorial, learned a bunch. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks, great quick tutorial
thanks bro!
Hope it helped!
Omg the step mode is something I didn't realise it's there🤣🤣🤣🙈 thanks so much
Super helpful video btw always learning from you ❤️🙌
Thanks for sharing, Very Informative!
Maaaaan you always find such a useful stuff ❤️✌️
Snoop Thanks! im really just trying to cover the stuff i spent waaay to looong googling trying to find when i was learning 😭
thx, this tut is very helpfull :)
Glad to be off assistance!
Whaaat ❤️🙏😂 thanks for sharing this
np! Wondering if i could use this to create some manga / comic style 3d renders 🤔
I don't understand why if I put the noise to the gradient I can't see the effect
If you mean adding 2 textures together for the displacment map: make sure you change the blending mode, and play with the opacity
@@MatHaughney how can I see the blending mode. I know this is a redshift tutorial, but what could happend if I use Octane Render with this tutorial as a referential method? I'm a beginner
The displacement map applied to the displacement modifier is separate from any maps applied threw the textures using redshift. So you can follow the tutorial all the way to texturing before having issues. Under the displacement modifier add a layer in shading. Then create your noise and gradient layers there. Blending modes will be displayed next to them. Default is “normal”
love this tutorial
Thank you!
good job on the tutorial! i would recommend you try using a duplicated floor plane with a rock texture and displacement. (always give up on trying to scatter the stones individually :D ) also have a look at the redshift userdata tag with it you can randomize each instance in the matrix 👌 well done Thank you for sharing! :)
Depends if you want stones that look part of the floor or objects sat on it. I get what your getting at, they just offer different looks. For a scene like this that doesn’t have must surface. Stand alone rocks do the job. But yeah completely forgot about data nodes! I’ll remember for next time 👍
Thanks for sharing!
Glad to be off help!
Great video man that POLIIGON looks like something I want :D
Yeah, i use POLIIGON the most my self. Great for finding base material to work and add more too.
Fantastic tutorial as always. Thanks a lot for all the value in this. I wish I could talk during my tutorials like you. I guess it will take time :D
I just wing it! You have no idea how many times I will re-do a video because I flubbed my words. I found it good to set “checkpoints” so then if I mess up I can undo and restart talking from that point, then just fix it in edit!
Thank you very much for this I have been looking for a tutorial like this. Do you have a patreon?
Glad to hear you enjoyed! As of five minutes ago i do. I have added it to the description, thanks for the idea. Though for now its just set up as a tip jar of sorts. I need some time to think about things i could offer. Scene files? Some of my own Assets? Livestreams? Anyway much gratitude for the kind words <3
Subscribed. Great video straight on point. Keep it up.
Thanks! ❤️
Cool! You can also add a shader graph in the spotlight, then add noise, you can then easily rotate, scale and offset the effect without having to add an actual object in front of the light.
Indeed! Good point! Main reason I use the plane and texture method is it can give the illusion of fake caustics without having to render any for under water scenes. Forgot to mention this in the video. Thank you for the input 😊
@@MatHaughney I checked area light works with noise(or maxon noise) node using shader graph. but spotlight didnt work with noise node. would you mind check this? btw, sry for bad english.
great tutorial ❤❤ please keep it up :)
Thank you! ❤️❤️
why rotate the camera?
Since I knew I was making more than one scene, it’s much easier to rotate the camera rather than every new object I added. That and rotating a plane with a large amount of polygons and displacements can be cumbersome in larger scenes.
very helpful <3
<3
thanks, searched this a few month ago!
Glad to be of help!
Just wanted to say that these tutorials are amazing. Instantly subscribed to your channel and can't wait to see more. Cinema4D is such a cool program to use, and it's so helpful seeing experts like you explain it in easy to follow steps. Great job!
Thank you for the kind words! Gald to hear you enjoyed it!
That was helpful :D lovely with short and quick tutorials. Straight to the point, people can always pause if they want - thats how tuts should be.
Glad to be of assistance :)
super helpful! I was looking for some lighting tips, just got into using redshift and so far its been really fun
Happy to hear it! Redshift is a super versatile renderer. Good luck in creating something awesome!
Good job ty
♥♥
Dude, this video deserves so many more views! I learnt so much. Awesome work!
Thank you! Hope you enjoyed!
THis is so cool and has so many uses. Cheers
Yeah I think I most recently used it for water dripping from a ceiling.
