Excellent stuff. I've been on "watch and wait" (as they call it hereabouts) since 2018. Scared to death by the initial diagnosis "it's incurable/you have 65% infiltration" but now moved to annual tests - and I am happy with that. Good to know we all have the same fears and similar experiences.

I feel the first half, Diane's consultation provided valuable information regarding what WM is and the approach to it. However I wonder how many of us ever had or get that ideal consultation in reality. Hopefully this video will be used to educate the medical teams we come across on how it should be done. I feel this is important as it's unlikely that anyone having their first consultation would know about accessing WMUK resources. The experience of Active Monitoring by both Andrea and Tim for me were spot on.

We're so glad the video provided you with some valuable information. We've also produced some videos specifically for healthcare professionals to help guide them in these conversations and consultations as well, including signposting to WMUK resources.

Thank you for such practical , professional advice. Such a relief after seeing so much unrealistic rubbish on videos.

I understand how she feels. When a doctor says you have cancer, the first thing you want is treatment to cure it. It's difficult for a patient to accept that watchful waiting is the correct treatment for this very rare, incurable cancer.

I have just had my blood check and telephone consult. All OK(if that is the right thing to say!). It is quite reassuring to hear about others with the same condition. This would not have happened without WM UK. Thanks

I am on zanubrutinib for 6 months now. I am apparently doing well & tolerating it well very few side effects. I am 79 years of age & still play 9 holes of golf 3 days a week but I find that my hips tire after about 6 holes which is annoying. After my initial treatments (CHOP) in 2018 I didn't have this problem. Along with this I have Peripheral neuropathy.

That was sooo helpful, having been told yesterday that this is what I have. I’ve been monitored for five years for hemolytic anemia, but my specialist now feels that my symptoms fit more with WM. In just getting my head around it all. And whether or not to have treatment.
