    Great video! Do you mind sharing your measurements and size you wear for Lagos? I'm interested in them but can't decide what size to get

      I am about a S in Lagos! The way the scrubs id designed allows this to fit me well, without being so tight like other brands!

    You are so pretty and you look so put together and professional! Your figure looks so cute with the top tucked in but the one with the pockets looks nice untucked also! ❤

      @@Itsnurseb_ you’re welcome. A lady on another channel showed scrubs tucked in and said But, when I’m actually trying to work…and pulled the top out. I’m thinking of going to work with a veterinarian. Do they restrict movement to work with scrubs tucked in?

  • @mariskacandice890
    @mariskacandice890 8 місяців тому

    I’m just curious do you work somewhere that tucked in is mandatory or do you find that they’re more comfortable and functional untucked? I like you both ways. I just love your shape tucked in

    • @Itsnurseb_
      @Itsnurseb_ 8 місяців тому

      thank you!! its definitely a personal preference to tuck them in :) I only tuck in tops that I don't love the pocket placement or if my pants have all the pockets I would need to make work functional!

      @@Itsnurseb_ somehow I got the idea that you prefer untucked. I like the shape tucked in but it looks nice if you leave the top out.

    I’m a big JAANUU fan. Initially when I started buying scrubs, I got Cherokee, they were good but they didn’t have the fit I was looking for, so I switched just a bit with FIGS. The figs that are my favorite are the high waisted ones, I have 5 pairs but haven’t bought one from them for awhile. The critique that you said about them being tight is so true. I later switched to JAANUU based on a recommendation from a health care colleague of mine at work and have stayed with them since, due to the material, stretch and etc they offer. I love JAANUU, my favorites is the 10 pocket joggers and mesh enhanced joggers. I’m planning to check mandala scrubs though, I’ve heard rave reviews from them but this is the first time I’ve heard of Lagos so I will check them out based on what you mentioned in this video.

      JAANUU for the win!!!! Lago is right on par with their quality so I think you'll definitely enjoy them :)

    did you say lago had the same thickness as fig? I didnt quite catch what you said. Figs are too thick for me.

    • @Itsnurseb_
      @Itsnurseb_ 10 місяців тому

      Lago is definitely not AS thick as gosh, but they have thickness and the perfect level. In rating of thickness I’ll do: FIGS, JAANUU, LAGO, HEALING HANDS.

    I love Lago so much for my body type. Like you said, it’s the stretch! I can get away with wearing a small, they are fitted but at least I can squat in peace. If I buy a small in figs, man, I can barely squat. I wish Lago would come out with more colors 😩

    I’m so glad I found this video! I love hearing the different opinions. I have accepted a new grad position in the ICU & really am looking forward to it. I’m actually kinda surprised how they only trained you 6 weeks!! They said I would be training for 4-7 months! Do you think with a longer training period it can be more acceptable for a new grad to start in a speciality? A handful of me and my classmates who are going into specialties are actually finding managers wanting new graduates since they can shape us into nurses for the unit with no prior experiences!

    • @Itsnurseb_
      @Itsnurseb_ Рік тому

      Hi Barbara! I love talking about this topic especially with new grads. So yes, most programs around the country train new grads in the ICU for 4-8 months! I came into the ICU with 2 years of experience so I wasn't expecting a long training period, but def would have wanted at least a full two months. You bring a good point where leaderships says starting out in a specialty can mold you into the nurses they need, but only if you pick up good habits. My issue is at times this setting can be too intense; sometimes you feel like you can't even think or ask a question. As long as you are on a unit, and more importantly, that has a good teaching program with strong preceptors you can succeed! You will not walk away from training knowing it all, but you should be able to walk into your unit with no fear.

    What would you recommend as good floors/units to start off on as a new grad?

    • @Itsnurseb_
      @Itsnurseb_ Рік тому

      I think a surgical floor is great! Ortho, oncology, general, the specialties are endless! You'll become familiar with all kinds of meds, drains, and get to know the system well. What I would ensure is a floor where ratios allow for you to develop your skills and I think a PCU (progressive care unit) or Step-Down level that offers a max of 4 patients would be best!

    I loved this video! good advice for me to hear because I feel like there's a lot of pressure to get the highest acuity unit right after graduation and I have no idea how it makes sense to get oriented to 1. being a nurse in general and 2. being a super high stakes ICU nurse right off the bat! I have a question I would love your opinion on: I really want to work in the neontal ICU. There's not really a lower acuity version of this unit though. Maybe it would be wise to look for lower level nicus (like level II or even III) before getting my *dream job* at a level IV NICU at the regional trauma hospital near me?! Any thoughts for someone wanting to enter the world of neonates?

    • @Itsnurseb_
      @Itsnurseb_ Рік тому

      Hey! I am SO happy you loved this! You are already one step ahead with your mindset of putting yourself first versus the specialty you are working in as a nurse. Shockingly enough NICU's don't only accept nurses that have a background working with children/babies; they look for acuity training. With that, it is easier to advance faster in acuity experience in adult world, so I would look into an intermediate/step-down unit for your foundation. You really want to find a floor that you can prove you have the ability to: time-manage, critically think, and work in a fast paced environment. If your heart is really with the children, consider a children's ED!

    I recently had an interview in a stepdown unit. I truly didn’t understand how much I would need and want to have more of a foundation like the way stepdown provides. Like you, I REALLY wanted to jump right into the ICU and I do agree with what you’re saying. I think I’ll accept the offer if they extend 😊
