This game helped me rediscover a piece of myself I didn’t realize I was missing. To anyone else finding their spiritual identity through art, science, or culture: embrace it. Everything is connected.

BRUH the way people here downplay Zack's good nature is CRAZY. Even if we take out CC as a factor in, the fact Zack still went to rescue Cloud and bring him along despite Cloud's catatonic state reduced his survival rate greatly already speaks SO MUCH about him! TAKING CARE OF CLOUD DID KILL HIM! Also, Zack bothering to go to Midgar despite, Idk, WHERE SHINRA is, means he has someone he wants to meet there. Zack could easily find work and a new life with Cloud somewhere else, but still went to Midgar even though it's the most dangerous. Zack is 1st Class - he's not THAT dumb. Even before CC we already get implications he's trying to see Aerith 💀💀

Original is still better than modern. It’s the original soundtrack and the atmospheric noises that make it for me. Someone should mesh the old and new together haha. Fan made version.

Wow, that's really interesting. I'm playing through the original FF7 right now but didn't realize you needed these two for that specific cutscene.

So fun too compare this with the Rebirth remake, having played the game back in the day and see how this and many other iconic scenes are remade and given 4 generations of polish is just amazing. Well done Square!

Last night, I came across the cut scene with Zack and Cloud on UA-cam. The one that's triggered when you're in the basement in Nibelheim. I didn't know the scene existed up until then and I love this game even more. So tragic.

This game forever changed how I view spirituality. At the time of this, I was really unhappy and the church I was going to was very dogmatic and judgmental. I didn't agree with what they believed and was forced to go there until I was 12 years old. I started playing FF7 in 7th grade. It completely shifted how I viewed life. It helped open my eyes to A LOT of things. I'm a very spiritual person now and resonate with Eastern belief systems and different mystical traditions. FF7 has a message that really speaks to my spiritual, intellectual, and emotional selves. Why it's my favorite video game of all time. It literally changed my life.
