What is the western world?
In this video I will try to figure out what people mean when they talk about the "western world". Are they referring to a cultural or economic term? Or is there more meaning behind "Western" civilisation?

The British Dubbing Studio with American Voices - Manga Entertainment UK

When you watch English dubbed anime, chances are they are using American voice actors. But apparently in the past there was a anime dubbing studio located in the United Kingdom that mostly used American accents. And they mostly dubbed really bad anime. sources: dubbing.fandom.com/wiki/Urusei_Yatsura dubbing.fandom.com/wiki/Manga_Entertainment ua-cam.com/video/qqpA4Ona09U/v-deo.html

The more I watched this series the more I enjoyed it! It features a cop duo set in a fictional police station in Tokyo. Don't Turn Nostalgia Blind - Why the past sucks

    Disgusted by perceptions of Japan based on prejudice and discrimination, the 1985 Plaza Accord was a conspiracy to destroy Japan, followed by the US-Japan Structural Accord starting in 1989 and the US-Japan Semiconductor Accord in 1991, in which the US began to turn Japan into a permanent vassal state. The result was the bursting of the bubble economy. A particularly egregious part of this script is its bias against and misrepresentation of the Yasukuni Shrine. The only reason why the Showa Emperor suspended Yasukuni Shrine visits was because in 1979 the Japanese Socialist Party, now just an outdated left-wing party, raised the issue in the Diet that the Emperor's visits to Yasukuni Shrine violated the separation of church and state in the Japanese Constitution, which had been hastily drafted by the US, so the Showa Emperor, who understood constitutional monarchy from before the war, suspended them.Correct.Correct history.After learning the correct history.Let's learn the correct history and then give a commentary to the children.We need to learn the correct history and then we need to get a child to explain it to us.Learn the correct history and then take the commentary.Learn the correct history and then explain it to me.Learn the correct history before explaining.You need to learn the correct history before you can give an explanation.If you don't learn the correct history before giving explanations, you will be exposed to harmfulIf you don't learn the correct history before giving explanations, you will find harmful content andIf you don't learn the correct history before giving commentary, it will be regarded as harmful content.If you don't learn the correct history before giving commentary, it will be regarded as harmful content.Please keep in mind that if you do not learn the correct history before providing commentary, it will be regarded as harmful content.Please keep in mind that if you do not learn the correct history before providing commentary, it will be regarded as harmful content.

    Im Indonesian, i think Himaruya got almost everything correctly which kinda scares me haha 1. Inability to speak formally For me personally, I relate hahaaa 2. "Mau kemana?"/Where are you going? I do this so much. My parents do too 3. The broken phone and new motorcycle This part scares me the most because how does Himaruya know?!?! My mom literally spent a few months using a phone with a screen that's literally falling apart 4. Eating everything with rice God yeah. This one's real. Especially with Indomie... You have rice, but dont have anything to eat it with? Make indomie. You have side dishes but no rice to eat them with? Make indomie

    I just finished season 1 and I freaking love this show. Its a strange show though, total car show, constantly talking about cars and motorcycles, they are mechanics and into racing. But at the same time the main characters are girls and the stories are sort of sensitive or just very low-key low impact type of stories. It actually has some really good romance. Personally I'd consider it sort of a slow show, as another user mentioned below, and thats what I like about it. Just feels like life, like you can live with them and hang out with them. Great show

    Good video. I was 23 in 1989, the peak Japanese period. There has never been anything like it since. At the time, 8 of the 10 largest companies on Earth by market cap were Japanese. No one wanted any technology by any country other than Japan. Also, they made the BEST quality high-end clothes, even displacing Milan, at the time. We see China as a threat now, but they are a minnow compared to how we saw Japan in the late 80s.

    American here: I think Himaruya NAILED us! Our main stereotypes are that we are endlessly cheerful, energetic, but also have limited awareness of other cultures That last bit is hit or miss as the more educated among us are often interested in and knowledgeable about history and other cultures, but the stereotype has a lot of truth behind it.

    • @beater393
      @beater393 3 місяці тому

      WW2 took place less than 100 years ago meaning there are people with family who personally lived through the horrors of the war. It's easy for young people (me included) to think of it as a historical event far in the past but it's still very fresh to a lot of people. Hetalia is not exactly the most careful about maintaining historical accuracy. Imagine you suffered the most inhumane treatment and then it was mocked as an oopsie and laughed at by thousands of people. It's not about supporting it or not, approaching the subject matter like this was objectively in poor taste.

    • @ΡΙΖΟΣΚΡΑΒΒΑΡΙΤΗΣ
      @ΡΙΖΟΣΚΡΑΒΒΑΡΙΤΗΣ 3 місяці тому

      @@beater393 Yes, there's no denying that. However, "UwU-fication" is simply not the right word, due to it implying it has something to do with youthfulness, kawaii culture, and frankly, lots of other stuff i'd rather not list due to youtube censorship. A better description would simply be "insensitive". Edit right after writing this : actually, That's not mentioning how japan tried to rebuild it's reputation through cutesy kawaii/anime culture and denial, considering this whole anime does have weird undertones of denial of the crimes against humanity commited by the japanese during ww2, too. And that's a whole other can of worms.. yeah honestly this anime isn't the sharpest tool in the shed at all, I admit that.

    I love when someone talk about history in Hetalia ! And when someone talking about the history of the characters like historical characters! People take this show or the manga too seriously… that’s a comedy and satire show ! This anime is a joke itself Like u shouldn’t use that to learn history ofc , for me that a show to make people laugh when you have the historical references Or like to take an interest in subjects and do research ! Hetalia itself is not really toxic but the old fandom wronged that… the old fandom was pretty cringe for some reasons and ofc hetalia is not without flaws, with the old cringe strips and webcomics that himaruya did… at the time he didn't really develop his characters well and drew some pretty cringe stuff but that another subject ! … (and the majority of this webcomics and strips has been removed from the canon and the work for obvious reasons lol) but that does not excuse the fact that there are things in the past that Himaruya should never have drawn… But now Hetalia Is a funny comedy, satire show, with a lot black humor ofc season 7 proved it too, Hetalia is changing and improving himaruya is looking to develop his show in a different way And we have news chapters in the manga too (Hetalia is back hehe) Of course, the black and special humor of this anime can't please everyone For me I liked the fact that it was so satire and funny with the historical references Like « I need to watch this holy shit » 11:35 as a French the first time i saw the character i was like "what the hell is this shit" but I loved our character so much so that’s accurate (?) the fights with England are so accurate… But that show it’s just a banger 😂 for the satire comedy historical references bro… And we need the same video with the allies !

    I think that my country in Hetalia is a representation of the modern stereotype of Canadians (almost spot on). There are only two things that I think would have made it more interesting. 1. The inclusion of how Canada is the reason for quite a few rules in the Geneva Convention and 2. That he could have been Metis which would add some historical depth to his character and representation for Metis.

    Some of MangaUK's dubs are quite good IMO. They did both of Yoshiaki Kawajiri's films from the 80s being Wicked City and Demon City Shinjuku and I both love those movies and feel as though they elevated my enjoyment of it. Which reminds me they also did Cyber City Oedo which that dub is so fucking funny.They also did CLAMP's Tokyo Babylon and X which also have a pretty good cast, especially for the protagonist of X. It's always nice to look into these old studios from a past generation. Of course, ADV would've eventually fell out anyway but it's fairly known that Sean Schemmel would willingly try to stop Peter Kelamis and Vegeta's from trying to attend cons with him because of his arrogance as being the "only" Goku. There's some old tweets from Kelamis and Sean that are still floating around. It's a pretty bleh situation and I have disliked Sean since. He and Funimation also completely just stopped Ocean Group from releasing their dub of Z Kai. I wish it was still readily possible to watch DBZ in its ocean dub, in its entirety. Same with the Blue Water dub of DB, which I found a forum where someone had all the tapes of it but of course elitism and flaunting it around the dude just hides it from others, we're supposed to be preserving this content; not hoarding it for ourselves. 😔

    why should we get lower quality product when its the companies who are bad at managing their workers and forcing them to overwork themselves? There's a saying, less work is better. You can work 24 hours but when you are not taking care of your body, the result will be always worse. The management needs to stop forcing unrealistic deadlines and crunch hours. I see, but where would you draw the line between eastern/western europe? Anything east of Germany and Italy?

      If we consider culture, laws, architectue and historical heritage parts of eastern Europe like Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary are 100% western ever since they’ve existed as sovereign feudal kingdoms. I’d also add Finland as it’s not scandinavian country, surprisingly closest european relatives to finns are hungarians.

      There is no way you can include USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia and not Latin America.

      The Western World is a civilization, it is not appropriate to use “money” or “purchasing power” as a measure for this definition, this only contributes to leaving the discussion at a more mediocre level. I must respectfully make this warning. South American countries: Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, East Europe and Rússia are Western, but there is an attempt to discard them by developed countries, which do not have the right to do this.

    Couldn't have subbed faster as you cover the unbelievably insane, but legendary, Mad Bull 34.

      Thanks man! Appreciate it! You should try watching the anime "Wounded Man". It is the edgier version of Mad Bull, and is made by the same mangaka.
