For a more serious reply though, yeah, it's still astounding to me there hasn't ever been much headway in this category idea The few historical records of people doing the challenge run didn't get *IL scores* anywhere near what this TAS shows. Not trying to hate on them, I know we're both well above average skill level, but I think even back then, there must've been players getting better Superless IL times than what we could find documented. The basics of normal speedrunning still apply, and all of the boxers can be made dizzy with a mix of random and counterpunches, no supers needed. Now, getting some of those dizzies is easier said than done, to be fair... at least there was that one guy in the comments of some post/video who was like "hey I managed to do Gabby Jay in under 10 seconds!" and everyone else was just like "get out of here you lying nooby bard."

Yeah we really did take superless to a whole new level. From having a 2 minute nick on the verge of sub 2 minute to everyone being beaten in under 30 seconds

If you could do literal *perfect* execution, you'd be 100% guaranteed to pull it off because of how old games generate random numbers - every button your press or let go of modifies the "random" number in a predictable way... but it's so improbable it may as well be impossible. Honestly never cared to calculate the exact odds - in short you would need astronomically good luck. UA-camr Pap has a good video on how stupid the RNG is in MTPO. With that said, SPO (superless or normal) is technically more likely than MTPO because the fights are shorter - less time playing = less chances to screw up... or for the game to screw you with bad RNG. But, with the way RNG works in most classic games it would be hypothetically possibly to memorize the exact sequence of inputs... but that's *insane* because it's not just "every button has to be hit frame perfect," but they need to be let go of on exact frames. Same goes for the d-pad

Oh yeah to add to that I had to add inputs will punches where going off, which makes it even more impossible ss style. I think the ss human limit is around 4:3x to 4:4x. 4:2x will never happen.

Pretty sure the bit you refer to was written by the guy in charge of Lost Frog Productions, who was some level of close to FSM (I think he's on the FSM discord server iirc)

As good looking this game is, there is some major issues with it manily with smm and masked muscle. I dont wanna go into detail but, they have delays on their attacks and the rng code for the first delays is broken.

You know, I agree. I'd originally included Super in title to make sure people searching for the game would have it show up... but I'm pretty sure it should come up since I got all info put in. If you're reading this, should be fixed, idk how quickly YT updates title changes (I assume it's pretty quick lmao)

Haha thanks. Yeah, super close call at the end - lost last extra life when it turned out he was *one* hit from dying. I decided to celebrate my score by finally biting the bullet and buying a PC Engine from Japan with a G88 hu-card. Can't wait to see how much better I can do playing on my CRT. lol

Thanks! My favorite moment has to be in first boss fight right about 7:17 when I go in the right corner - it doesn't look too impressive compared to a bullet hell shooter, but the triple ship does *not* have a tiny bullet hell hitbox... lol

Yeah the beginning's bpm is like 110(?) then it goes up to 117

He also doesnt sign things anymore "Because people sell them for profit" I generally do not like his attitude and the way he treats people. Guy is a complete ASS. Too much fame for one peson :(

@@singaloss1015 I like him well enough. Not a huge Nirvana fan. Bleach is my favorite album from them, which Dave isn't even on admittedly. lol But idk, he seems like a cool dude, he made Probot, and he has a working relationship with Tenacious D. Those are all pretty cool.

Hahaha, I leave them alive if I screw up while playing and only have one ship when I get to a bonus round - but it's worth roughly 2x as many points to get a perfect vs secret bonus. The actual bonus point value is the same, but you miss out on all the points gathered by shooting each individual enemy + the up to 2600 for each wave you perfectly execute. lol

From what I've heard thus far, it almost certainly at least ties White Owl. Haven't had chance to listen to it all yet, but I've listened to about 30 minutes... which is about the runtime of White Owl. If it stays as good as first thirty minutes, it's 100% the better album. lol

@@nullera I was curious about it based on its name, was curious years back if it was like... a vinyl EP maybe, being a "disc." I thought too early for it to be likely a CD (video game consoles that used CDs before PS1 typically didn't bother with copy protection, specifically because we didn't have consumer grade CD burners or anything like that yet). Still glad to hear it, probably best release I've heard since finding Scunibro or the White Owl tape. Gomblasemba Lumbieca was another great find - aka Starcle Rap. It's not my favorite, can't lie, but was stoked to hear it... I knew there was at least one "rap" they did and curiosity to hear that was definitely strong. lol
