Hi. First I wanna say thank you so much for sharing. I'm sure that by now you have made your way into a locking system that works for both your lifestyle AND your budget. Your distress and sincerity are moving and I'm not quite sure how I found your video but here is my response. The truest difference between Sisterlocks and other locking systems, particularly microlocks is KNOWLEDGE. For example, many people can easily learn how to walk up and down rocky hills but not everyone can climb mountains. You need both training and technical knowledge that will help you do the right things at the right times and even help you get out of troubled situations with the least amount of damage. Unfortunately, many practitioners only have learned how to do a technique and never mastered or even truly learned the basics of the knowledge regarding hair structure, curl characteristics, etc (and I mean there is so much more to our hair than just a 1, 2, 3, or 4 type). We all have at least 2 differing characteristics in our heads and these can change from 1 section of the head to another. Also, the Sisterlocks product is the only product that is ph-balanced for tightly textured African-type hair. Each product was created to address the various characteristics. Products that serve to create shine or coat with oil are not necessarily helping the conditions of the hair strands, depending on what's happening with that person. A Sisterlocks consultant is supposed to be one who has done her/his due diligence to be able to provide you with the best natural hair care in addition to maintaining and even REPAIRING the locks that they ESTABLISHED in your hair. However, as I mentioned earlier, this is often no longer the case. That means that consultants like me, and others get a bad rap. Please just know that there are those of us out there who DO put in the good work for the prices that we ask of you. I truly wish you many blessings along which ever route your locked life takes you. <3

Sisterlocs is a brand. They are microlocs but there’s a specific grid, size and installation method. Ultimately you paid for the training they get. It’s also a network. So I think it’s whenever you want to maintain your locs there’s a whole network of people who have this exact training.
