S1E17 A la caza del hierro fundido? Episode 17 - Thrift flea market & antique store hunting
This is by far one of the best and honest video that I've seen about any cruise ships! Thank you!
Iam looking for the wagner corn bread pan.
Chicken fryer with small pour lips = BSR early automation period mid-1950s to mid-1960s.
Oval serving griddle.
How do I find your story where I can buy some of your cast iron items ?
I hate say this but most resorts, most cruise lines all have the same issues
This guy is a real downer , a real negative nancy 😮
They have cheaped out on their chicken wings. No longer fried. They are now boiled and taste horrible. Also they are using a lower quality wing. They look like Frankenstein wings. They also no longer give out wet wipes. They also watered down their dressings. Thanks CEO of NCL, the highest paid ceo at sea is drives new car with all the cutbacks.
Nice job with your display.
Great Job. I was going try that but chickened out. It looks great! I really need to start selling mine because I have way too much. Let us know how things go. That store looks so familiar where is it at?
I think of LeB as more a brick & mortar Etsy than an antique store. I was there the other day and thought your booth was gone, turns out I just thought it was closer to the front than it is.
Good luck on the booth!
I really enjoy your videos. I hope you did not misunderstand my last comment I sent you. I was just letting you know my experience that I have had with trolls. I have given some helpful comments for people. Thier are trolls out there making rude comments. I gave this one guy some encouraging words about the original Black Lock cast iron. This guy went off on a rant that he knows everything about cast iron. When rude know it, all people do this. We just need to tell them don't be that guy! Trolls are out there. Thanks for making your great videos I enjoy them.
With reservations, I wonder if the 82 isn't what's a visible remnant of 1062 the Wagner c/n for a #12 skillet. A heat ring Wagner with a size number on the top of the handle would be expected to have a c/n on the bottom, as the pre-c/n pans had the size number on the bottom. Empirical observation tells us many Wagner unmarked pans were made using marked patterns with the markings filled in. What concerns me is your saying how heavy it is, which makes me suspect it may be a copy made from a Wagner pan.
I also collect Pyrex. The ladies at LeB know my websites.
The trivet is Virginia Metal Crafters. They made souvenir pieces for Colonial Williamsburg as well as other historic locations. It does not hurt plated iron pieces to clean them in an eTank. If it has loose plating particles, the eTank will take that off which is good, but otherwise no harm.
Want to see this .22.
Beautiful wow.
Nice finds 👍
that bsr is worth more than the whole deal...................................
Good show thanks!
The labels are most often what they were priced at the estate sales they came from. Don't go by them, negotiate.
It's a cracked Wagner. Run away.
It’s unmarked but I believe that one is considered a Taunton Iron Works pattern
Is that fancy handle skillet an active auction? I cannot find it anywhere on eBay.
My guesses for first 3 price points. #14 BSR "USA" as is $50-60, Restored $120-$140 possibly more #8 SK Lodge 3 notch as is $20, Restored $40-45 #7 Early no notch Lodge as is $35-40, Restored $70-$80 possibly more if not so pitted.
Must be made of gold!
you need to start using the tone test, suspend the piece in mid air and tap it with something hard, if it rings it's probably ok, if it clunks it's cracked, not 100 per cent reliable but usually works........................
can you see it on the inside,,??.........................
Those large BSR #12 were made between Red Mountain and Centry series as the transitions were going. I have seen one Ebay and one in the wild and he wanted 130.00 dollars at one of the shops I go too. You made a good buy! I think you will find the bottom very smooth because the bottom was the red mountain part. Thanks for the video!
That lid is definitely BS&R Century cookware. For the first couple of years or so when they started automated DISA production (beginning in 1966), they tried producing those lids with knobs as a cost-cutting measure. However, it didn't work very well and the lists were discontinued. BS&R made standard lids for their skillets and dutch ovens after that.
The lid is held on by a phillips screw, when were they invented? Or is this phillips a replacement?
That's not a question you ask here....that's a simple Google search. 1936............
also when buying pans, hold it up and tap the pan with a knife or something to see if it has a ring tone or if it is craccked it will sound dull.
@ around 7:30, do not put a nickel coated in electrolisis, big mess, just a lye tank will do............................
Looks like he used a lye bank and not an e-tank
you were right to go for fifty, still not a bad score at sixty, you might find a glass lid to fit it, #9 is a tough size to match, good luck............................
sall it takes bro, love the way you "just" dragged that pan across that glass stove top, yer gonna make a lot of cranks, trolls and know it all's very unhappy, ha ha ha ha ha, don't get me all wrong here though, i like your content, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha............................................
whats really bad is when get home and find a crack, we ,some of us that is, all been through it' that pot'll cook a steak or beef stew, black beans, red beans lots of things............................
Mold makers mark
How do i get into cat Cast iron pans?
They sit in wood burning stoves. You remove the blank & set your skillet or pan in the opening.
I would say the person who cast em or the company who cast em maybe
I love cast iron pans. I just want to point out that you sound like Dr. Mike Israetel
What are you talking about they're just old pans
Buzz off nerd we’re having a cool old pan moment here can’t you see that
Luvvvvvv em
you tell em' dubz..........................
@@williamhurt8512😊😊😊
Some like to think these may be Lodge predecessor Blacklock. The "smashed" reinforcement ridge is also a hallmark of these. They are not bottom gated; check the rim for ground off side gates.
Have you ever seen a blacklock skillet? I wonder if they have a smashed reinforcement ridge. 😂
3:35 If you reverse polarity and hang some junk iron like that cracked pan, that will get your anodes nice and clean for the next session. I don't understand why people are so adamant about using stainless, its just not worth the risk when you can find a couple of rusty saw blades or old flat shovel heads for a few bucks that work perfectly.
Nice pan, but sucks that it’s a recast and not a real Wapak.
Great selection. Picked up two wonderfully restored pieces of Americana yesterday.
Stainless is not an issue at temps and amps used in this scenario.
That's good to know. How do you know this to be true?
I have always been told that Hex was only made when there was extremely high heat like welding. E-Tanks do not get hot enough to create it. The page you showed says the same about welding.
