Alpha M8000, First Ride Revelstoke BC
First ride on Arctic Cats Alpha, this was a rental and was testing it out to make sure I liked the Alpha before I spring ordered one. Definitely a whole different sled vs my 2016 M

Sale Mountain, Revelstoke British Columbia, January 28th 2019. Renting a sled from a buddy since I was only able to join in for a week of their two week trip to the Revelstoke area. Sled is a 2017 M8000 162. 2019 was a bad year for snow but I was able to make the most of the week we had out there. One more Video to follow this one. Boulder Mountain, Frisby Ridge, and Keystone Basin are the riding locations. Didn't get to wild as avy danger was high with the strong sun and warm temps! Pumped to go back to such an amazing destination!

Trail 3 Michigan Mass City to Twin Lakes
Is this near lake gogebic ?
More than an hour away.
does it drone, and is it too loud where it’s anoying
No, the trail version I had didn’t drone and wasn’t much louder than stock. It definitely added some horsepower and I couldn’t hit the rev limiter with the stock muffler but I easily could with this Mbrp trail can on.
Where do you know to go off trailing?
State land and some other tracts of land are fare game. Just need to read the rules and regulations, grab a plot book and start finding land you can ride on. Takes some work but it’s worth it.
What is that a flooded out area or the edge of the lake I can’t figure it out
Yep, all bottom land, floods after snowmelt and big rain.
Where are the people?
Joseph Amendola this was early December on a Thursday morning I believe. Was super quiet this particular day.
What did you think of the alpha? Curious to hear other peoples perspective, i own one, and i found the hard spring snow is a little difficult to traverse as it washes out quite pronounced in comparison to the twin rail.
ippielb I liked it enough to spring order a 20. After spending a full season on it I don’t wanna go back to a twin rail. I never really had issues washing other than on previously tracked up snow. Overall super happy with the sled.
Well that's 4:53 seconds I won't get back in my life
Dennis Wilder sorry to hear you are incapable of figuring out wether you like something or not without watching the whole video, better luck next time.
Boring he is going way to fast
I went to your channel for inspiration but I didn’t find anything
@Syver Bertilrud nope, was in NE Wisconsin. It will happen again when the time is right lol
Where did you guys park and get onto the ice?
Mike Brennan be parked at the Sunoco between the white pine lodge and the casino. Got onto the ice through the campground across the road if I remember correctly.
How lame all you do is small little blips of throttle to raise your skis up pussy
How do you like the 3” i just got a 2016 m8000 ltm black 153” 3” and I’m worried the 3” is too much ?
chicken mamba after you run this sled you will always want a 3” especially if you run out west. Just seems to give you that much extra traction on those deep days.
Thanks man
Nice can
It sounds stock
Sure the Sleds are happy the tracks are out, meanwhile us loggers are struggling without rail service here in the northwoods!
sooline64 always wonder why we don’t utilize rail more, it’s cheaper and more efficient.
Your turo makes your skidoo sound like a semi-truck lol, but it must be pretty fast!
Josh Macpherson it was geared low for the 2.25” track so not real fast but it had plenty of horsepower!
153"?
SnOw SkI yes, 153 3”
What length sleds do you guys all ride. I’m debating between a 146 and 154 to ride in the up
715 Films most us are on 150’s but we also go out west. A 146 2.6 is plenty for the yoop and will just about anywhere you need to go!
Nice turbo
137 ?
CanadianRandom yes was a 137
@@wingmaster2109 Right on, nice vid , I'm picking mine up Friday.
any mods besides can
Drew Croft running a Tki belt drive, ported the track and also reflashed the gauges
What area are you riding?
Western UP that's about as specific as ill get ;)
Im not a fan of the sound of that Turbo. It sounds really weird.
Matt Zimmerman yeah not the best sounding sled but man did it have power!
Horsepower isn't for everyone
Were you riding an M1100? I have some questions in that case :P Concidering oone as my next
Dat Boi not an M just a XF high country but ask away
do you know the diffrence? as i can understand. if you change the front suspension on an xf hc its basically an m with a stronger frame.
Dat Boi this is a 16 it is the exact same as an M just with a 38 inch ski stance rather than a 36. The high country has always been on an M chassis the only difference is it had the wider ski stance.
damn. in that case im getting an xf. its way cheaper. thanks for the info. coulnt gety a straight answer from anyone.
Dat Boi glad I could help!
I like your sled is nice
are you happy with that can? Is it like really loud?
Kim Olsson no complaints here. Mine isn’t crazy loud but Phil has the same one on his HCR 800 (same year sled) and his is quite louder. Same sled same can not sure why they are different.
Ty Rosin maybe his can needs to be repacked
Kim Olsson they were both brand new and there was a big difference.
That turbo
Sick sled man! Sounds mint!
I have a 340 panther that love fresh pow too
Omg I hate the sound of turbo so fucking much
Luis ThisIsNotMyRealName yeah not the best sounding sled out there...
Fack those poles and trees were makin me a bit nervous lol
What can do you have?
SacredOath1015 GGB mountain can
she sounds good, definitely tuned
does the cold air intake change that much for the lift? i want my 2014 high country 9000 to lift like that!
Up North Backcountry Riding no, the ski lift is all in the suspension set up.
Ty Rosin what would you recommend? Loosen the limiter straps?
Up North Backcountry Riding mine came on the loosest setting. I'm running my back shock at 120 and my front at 75. If you soften yours up and it doesn't help, move your back suspension to the upper hole. Also my turbo seems to lift better in firmer snow than any other condition
Ty Rosin thanks man!
How is this sled riding it in these lower snow conditions as it appears in the video. Thinking of getting one to ride around here in Iowa when we have a little snow as well as taking west.
Caleb Losh , it's not bad, pretty fun to ditch bang with yet still does good in deep powder. The high country is a super capable sled. Basically a M without the XF name. Yet still trail capable in most trail conditions.
looks like wisconsin, thinking about buying a 800, is it to much track for ditches and trails? I ride up near minocqua, but would like to hit the u.p.......mostly trails though, thoughts?
Chris Hansen a high country is a bit much for the trail, put the scratchers down and you won't over heat though. It's right at home in the ditches and in deep powder. Sleds basically a short mountain sled. Very capable machine no problems getting around off trail in the UP
153"?????
Emile Nicole yes, 153 3 inch lug
Thanks
I'm an hour east of you. 2014 sucked for chopping corn
tractorman MIKE , we run all the way from Oconto Falls/Suring area down to siocton around Shawano over to Wittenberg and up to antigo. Of all the farms we chopped for I think there was only 3 or 4 where we could run semi's in the fields. Not to mention we finished silage and snaplage with over a foot of snow on the ground up in antigo. Hope that's a year we don't repeat anytime soon.
When we started running trucks up here all the old timers said if we got a good old wet fall we would never get it done. We proved them wrong, it wasn't pretty but we still did it. I could tell horror stories all day as I imagine you can to.
Nice, just got a 2016 xf6000 high country can't wait for the snow!
I'm subscribing that was awesome
Looks like Toivola. How do you like the 8000 vs the high country turbo? I had a 12 high country turbo, sold it and now i have a 14 high country 8000 and i love it 10x more.
Don't get me wrong that HC turbo was an awesome sled and was super capable too! Loved the power and smoothness of the engine. The M8000 is much for fitting for my current riding style though, the narrower front end makes sidehilling effortless. Less weight makes more sense for amount of tree riding I do. Sled is extremely capable! I'll run out of skill before that sled runs out of capability. So far I'm running a GGB mountain can and going to pick up a belt drive at haydays.
+Ty Rosin TKI belt drive?
+Crossfire800 you bet! Tki it is!
Nice Vid. Where in the UP is this. looks familiar. Toivola?
Rockland area actually
I'm thinking about either a 15 xf high country 8000 or a 13 1100t. just wondering if the extra weight I'd noticeable when boondocking and all that
It's noticeable, the only time it was a problem for me was when I was side hilling in tight trees. Other than that sled was awesome and had a ton of power. Not the most fun sled to get totally buried either but you get over that.
fire kittys love anything you can throw at em ;)
Seems to do pretty well offtrail. Im looking at the same sled
Would be a much more capable off trail sled with an 1.75 inch track yet still trail friendly. I went to 153 M 8000 now, then again all I do is ride backcountry now.
Yea i noticed in your videos you switched. Im trying to get my buddies to ride off trail in the UP more so for now a 137 or the 141 1.6 will have to do
+Region Riders the 137 or 141 with a 1.6 cobra makes for a great crossover sled very trail friendly yet plenty of lug to push you through the powder. Not a track I would want to stud however, but if you're riding in good snow studs are not necessary.
is the sled heavy when doing stuff like that?
The only time I didn't like the weight was when I was doing some super tight tree riding. As far as ditch banging climbing and running logging roads the sled is awesome! Being the 141x2.25 it is May more capable then I would have guess. This sled surprised this past winter, I was defiantly happy with it!
what exhaust do you have?
This is the stock exhaust, the only mod I have done in this video is an Evo Powersports cold air intake/air filter delete.
+Ty Rosin ah okay thanks. sound good!!
Can you do a video of just wheelies/cat walks
I will see what I can do! Not the lightest in the front end lol, the right snow conditions will help thou.
+Ty Rosin okay thanks!! Really cant decide weather to get the same sled as you or the 8000
+Rourke101 if you plan on tree riding go with the 8000, if your just going to run open logging roads/ditchs you might like the power of the 9000. After riding a season of trees I have found this sled to be to heavy for me when it comes time to get super technical. I believe I will be upgrading to a M 8000 next year.
what track does your xf have?
+Region Riders sorry for the late reply but this sled only had a 137x1.25 rip saw II
Cool perspective Camera angle is Great.
