Technically the value of the asset should just stay at the value that you paid for it when you bought it. Then if it is depreciated that will show up in accumulated depreciation, but the value of the asset stays at the level it started out at.

@@Gabrielbelloe there are no SBA loans available for buying investment properties. Only owner occupied commercial real estate loans. For investment property loans you might talk to your local credit union.

Good question! They are really quite similar. The only differences would really be how the different services you may provide are priced and how they are handled with insurance, licenses, etc. The medical component creates some nuances, but as far as the business model goes - very similar still.

Also worth mentioning, depending on what type of non profit organization you have, most generally non profits are not eligible for SBA loans including microloans. There are a few exceptions but it depends on the exact type of work your non profit is doing.

Sorry to hear you had a poor experience looking for an SBA loan. SBA loans can be difficult to get approved for, just like any business loan, however we have personally witnessed thousands of SBA loan approvals. Well the buyer would not want to agree to that because the business would still be responsible for the loan. So if you don’t get the official approval from SBA for the new owner to assume the loan then if you were to stop paying, the new business owner would still be on the hook for the loan. So if the buyer is ok with that, then they might as well go through the process of assuming the loan.

Technically, yes! There are a few limitations to be aware of, like each program has a total loan limit that can't be exceeded. Like 7(a) has a total maximum. You can have more than one loan from different programs, but you will still need to be able collateralize each loan, cash flow, etc. So it's definitely possible!

If it is for a startup, the lender is going to be focused on your personal financial situation. So they will be interested in your personal credit score, your outside income, your savings, etc. But if those are strong, then yes you could get a loan for a startup.

Yeah it sounds like that would probably just take some customization of the model to be able to handle that.
