Spot on Paster Mitch
Love you JW. You make the bible make sense.
He cracks me up.
Raising a child on my own was tough, but I did it. Never been a parent before and I know I made mistakes, and I know I did the best I could. My daughter just turned 28. We still have issues, but for the most part we are getting through them. One thing about parenting, was to create memories and that they have something from their childhood they can remember. I now have three GrandLittles that I feel I have a second chance from what I have learned that I missed the first time around with my daughter. Parenting is a challenge, but is so rewarding. Thank you for this.
Good evening
Jackets and shorts are standard winter gear in Florida! 😂😂😂😂😂

Loved this 💯 Jonnie W thank you for the fun set then shifting into an even better set re: solid life talk 🙌 glad this was posted (wish the audience was a bit more engaging when legit deep things were shared)
They were boring the whole time. Johnnie deserves better he's so good.
With great joy I hear Professor Jeff's voice. I haven't heard that voice in 24 years. I was at the first messianic seminar held in Brazil in Belo Horizonte, when one day, a professor from the USA entered the room. When this man walked in, I couldn't stop shaking and I started crying, I didn't know what it was or why this was happening to me, I just know that I stayed that way the entire class. At the end of the seminar he called some students to the front and I was one of them, he blew on me and I fell to the floor. God showed me his power through a true servant, I received the anointing and I always remember Jeff as one of the teachers I had, full of ES. I am grateful to God for having received everything he wanted to teach me through this man!
Most HIGH God if you can hear me please show me you can hear me and please show me if you sent your son Jesus Christ of Nazareth to die on the cross for my sin because I don't want to get tricked from the world and satans people and then burn in hell Fire because I didn't ask you first most HIGH God
Preach brotha
This was a really good one!
"I would say there was a difference between Biblical slavery and slavery in the South. Nope. Under Mosaic law, foreign slaves were chattel slaves. They could be bought, sold, separated from their families, beaten, raped, killed, kept for life, and passed down as inherited property. Every reference to foreign slaves in the Bible is to deny them rights and protections afforded to Hebrew slaves. The treatment of foreign slaves was every bit was bad, or worse, than slavery in the Antebellum south. I have to ask. Why kind of sheer arrogance does it take for the three of you to sit around speaking out of complete arrogance on a subject you know nothing about, and have not even done any basic research on? Does truth not matter to you at all? Apparently not.
Sorry, but saying that compelling a woman to marry her rapist is God's way of protecting her is just sick. Sick, sick, sick. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
"God is stepping in and giving that woman some form of rights that would have been FOREIGN to the ancient world." This is just sadly ignorant, and quite arrogant as well. The rights and laws of ancient Israel were pretty much the same as the laws of the nations around them.
Not allowed to carry ice cream in your pocket? LOL. That sure is a funny law. Not allowed run around with a shaved chest? My, oh my. That sure is silly! You can keep people as chattel slave for life? Gee, that's a real knee-slapper!
"When God spoke these things, he was speaking into a different time." What the hell does that mean? Are you suddenly advocating for cultural relativism? Is your God not timeless and unchanging? Is he lacking in power and authority? He COMMANDED chattel slavery.
A few things on the topic of slavery in the Bible if I may? First, the person in the middle is completely correct on the 7 year and 50 year rules. The Jubilee year is only once every 50 years, but there is a Sabbath year every 7 years to coincide with the whole crop thing. And both have a bearing on the Hebrew indentured servitude and releases. The comment that "servant" and "slave" were kind of synonymous though is really not right. They are essentially the same word in the orginal Hebrew and Koine Greek (eved and doulos), but their translation into English as "servant" or "slave" does not at all mean that servant and slave mean the same thing. Not at all. Translators look to who is being referred to to determine the correct English word to use. If it's talking about a paid cook in your house it's going to be translated as "servant". But if it's talking about someone owned as property for their entire lives and forced to work without pay? Then it's going to be translated as "slave". And then there's everything in between (Like Paul calling himself a doulos of God). So while the original word may be the same, there are very good reasons for the translators to use both "servant" and "slave". It's a similar issue when you quoted from 1 Timothy and "slave traders". In the original Greek the word used makes it clear that this is referring to people who kidnap or "steal" free people and make them slaves. Not anyone who buys or sells slaves. So not only is this not a condemnation of slavery itself (which it definitely is not), it's not even really a condemnation of slave trading. It's just stealing free people and enslaving them. Which brings me to Exodus 21:16 you mentioned. Everyone quotes that passage and ignores the corresponding passage in Deuteronomy 24:7 that really clarifies it. And again you have to get into the Hebrew (and even the Greek as well). If you look at this passage in context, it clearly seems to be talking about kidnapping a fellow native Israelite and is not a general prohibition against kidnapping and making a person a slave. And you, like almost everyone else, is really mischaracterizing the meaning of this passage. Something I thought might be worth pointing out. But if you really dive deep into this topic, what you realize is that it's actually a really good question after all. It's not nearly as clear cut as it's normally being presented.
A little more info on the Year Of Jubilee: There's no record of it ever happening. Certainly not in the Bible. Not in ancient Hebrew scriptures either. The chapter in the Bible that describes the Jubilee was written while the Israelites were in Babylonian (or possible Persian) captivity. They weren't even subject to their own laws at that time. What they wrote was what they considered their "ideal" god-based set of rules. Again, there's no record of them actually observing it, freeing slaves, returning land, etc.
@@cygnusustus I agree, but the point of the discussion is what the Bible says about slavery. Not what the Hebrews followed or didn't follow.
I remember when B. David taught on Where are You in the story? He connected so many books from that library that is bound together. Thanks guys.
