Games From The Dead
United States
Приєднався 6 жов 2013
Hi, I'm Derry and I collect arcade games. I especially like finding the games that seem dead and beyond repair. Or maybe they're just too far out of the way for others to find. Seems like I'm always dragging in something. Recently I decided to record some of the fun I get into, along with my sometimes reluctant family and friends,
Midway Sportstation, NFL Blitz Gold and NBA Showdown Gold Arcade Project
Well it's time to get in the shop and get back to work on some games. We've got a shop project that has ben sitting for well over four years!
I started on this once before and stopped when I had some trouble deciding what side art I wanted to use. It's time to get on it and knock it out!

Here's a quick video of John and I setting up the Arcade and Pinball room at Really Rad Weekend 2024. A special thanks to Chris, Carlos, Neill, Link, and Joe Ted for helping to set the games up. And a super Rad thanks to the Rad Junk crew for hosting such an awesome video game paradise!

Here it is folks. The long awaited final episode. I finish the side art, secured the back door and deliver it to the owner. The DK is a wrap! Did someone say, DK Rap? Stick around to the end.

Still working on the DK. Let’s get those blue colors back in the game, make things easier to roll and see if we can ruin some side art. Oh boy!

Donkey Kong Arcade Cabinet Restore Part 4
What the heck? Did they not have the right spec capacitor and linked a whole bunch together to make one that was on the board they didn't have in stock?
I think that’s what was going on. I’ve done two or three but that’s nuts.
👍good work buddy
1 Week !!!! You can do it !!!!! 😉
very nice
Sorted it yet?
Next video. 😅
4 spots...Gauntlet? GL
¿ MAN CAVE ?
Nice Elvira
Mortal Kombat and Medieval Madness are MUST HAVES
Mortal Kombat 2 rescue project is coming up soon!
Heck yeah the gauntlet legend cabinet. That’s awesome
This was my first time playing Addams family. And it was amazing! 💜
It’s a classic game that just hits all the right spots.
Am I right? Is that Megaman music?
Castlevania! 😝 Good choice though! Maybe next time. 🤔
DAYTONA USA BABYYYYYYY
well done with all the work you did with the machine and videoing the process. it looks so good now. the guys face lit up when you uncovered it i bet that felt amazing. i built my own full size machine over the summer, its a replica of a centipede machine, i did it with a crt and pc but i took alot of tips from your videos as it was my first woodwork project aswell. im looking forward to your next project. take care
Glad you enjoyed it!
As a tip, next time have it printed on air duct film. I get my prints onto my Arcade machines free of bubbles and other errors.
Turned out great. Thanks for filming and sharing the process and all the videos along the way.
Great video, very thorough! The only thing you did not show, is the one repair I need lol. How do you get the goal plates off so that I can install a new lock?
Ok so I’ve learned a thing or two since this project. So Dynamo built the goal panels in two different styles. The ones on the table in my video use a key to open. My table did not come keys but I was able to order a set from eBay. They all came keyed the same from the factory. The other models just use a one piece cover held on with bolts. Now if you’re referring to the lock for the puck you will probably have to remove the playfield to access it. It’s bolted on the inside of the cabinet. You will still need to remove the goal cover to get to the screws.
My Best childhood game
How much?
One of the hardest games to beat ever in my book lol. Legendary score, for you.
It is a tough game but at the same time feels like it actually relies more on some skill than TMNT.
Excelente trabalho ao resgatar essa pérola.
How much did you sell it for?
Legendary game!
Question: where did you get the Nintendo blue laminate?

I love this game.
Hey Derry! I picked up a Dynamo air hockey table this past weekend and was going to start some repairs. I came across your video and I said “ha! I know this guy”
hiii joe
hiii joe hi darry!!

my sister told me to do this
hi uncle derry its artemis just wanted to say hi
hi im your new sub
just needed inspiration before i repair the body of my nintendo hellifire. Great job on the video i enjoyed it. Your dogs a legend just kicking back while you work.
Glad you enjoyed it. I lost a lot of footage at the end I have what I hope is enough for the final DK restore video. Life hasn’t been easy lately but I’m still out there bringing them back from the dead. Hopefully new videos will be coming out soon.
im planning on building a replica of this cabinet and came across part 1 of your series doing some research and ended up watching them all in 2 days. really enjoyed watching this series and hope you finish it soon. looking forward to the next one
The last few months have been a real ordeal. I’m hoping to get back in gear and line up some more projects and post new videos soon.
I like how you just ripped the boards off 😂 you are too funny this was the first video I saw from you and you are awesome
Good stuff man. How ya doing ? How many games in your collection now ?
I don’t even have a count right now. I’ve started a second job last year fixing games for a local arcade and I haven’t had time to work on my own stuff. The gameroom is a warehouse, the shop is full and the house is a mess. We may have to just have an arcade yard sale real soon.
@@gamesfromthedead9714 take care man. Hope things go good What State are you in? If you have a sale I’d be interested in some games
I would say it's the squeegee, those things make or brake the transfer.
I think so as well. I did a perfect job on my Centipede a few years back with a bit larger but similar squeegee. I think I had a piece of felt with a rubber band holding it on. Did it on its side and dry with not one single bump. I was definitely feeling overconfident about doing this smaller piece and thought I was going to breeze through it with a small squeegee and paper towel. Next time, Gadget, Next time…
Should of had the cab upright when applying side art, $3 for the proper squeegee & when applying the art, start in the middle and work left and right. Dry method is fine if you know what you’re doing, but wet method with rapid tac is so easy.
It might be the squeegy you used it wasn't really flat with that paper towel bulked up at the end. Put a piece of Velcro across it instead. Soft side of course. Thanks for taking the time to share.
I wish I got to go to this con but my work schedule, man. Your buddy Deepwoods has a really nice Harley-Davidson machine. I did get to go to Anime Weekend Atlanta at this same hotel last month (AWA's last year at the Waverly) and the arcade was weak. At every anime convention you see people bring the same old rhythm games and racers like Initial D V8, with ridiculously long lines. Gimme Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon, Vampire Savior, House of the Dead, or Super GT instead! :P
It was awesome and it was GREAT to meet you and John!!!!!!!!!!!! I also did a sweep-through on my channel of the arcade room! Great work!!!!!
awesome video
Thanks for the visit
Looks good
Nice work !!
Thank you very much. I’m pretty happy with the results. :)
I loved your optimism after you got the chips installed. Being in the business I know that feeling before the dread comes on when things go sideways. lol. Keep ur chin up. :D
The next videos will hopefully show things going a lot smoother. I didn’t realize what I was getting into when I recorded this and how much time editing all of it would take. Trust me there’s a happy ending and a happy owner at the end. :)
Hey bro keep the new videos coming take care 👍🍺 can we get a walkthrough tour of all your project games ?
Doing a lot of service calls right now and the shop is needing some serious attention. Some more projects are underway.
@@gamesfromthedead9714 take care bro. What state are u in ? I’m in nc
Down in the Florida panhandle. Right near the Alabama state line. Or L.A. Lower Alabama. :)
Looking forward to the future restoration videos.
What a shame you couldn't save that G-loc. It's a great looking cabinet.
