Easy Hedge build - Fast and affordable
Переглядів 3663 роки тому
Lets go through on how to make hedges from a piece of mattress. No XPS involved here. Easy, fast and good looking craft to be made in batches. The pieces of mattress can be found for free at least in Finland. If you go visit a furniture store, they might sometimes have a place for used mattresses in the back and you can easily scavenge as much as you'd like from there. Just be sure that it hasn...

#1 DnD Terrain object - A CART
Переглядів 1503 роки тому
I realized that the one terrain object that is very much present in outdoor encounters in DnD is a cart. Even Lost Mines of Phandelver starts so that the players are around a cart once the goblins attack. So why not make one quick? It also works wonders for any kind of wargame where you need scatter terrain to fill the battlefield with. Music: www.bensound.com/royalty-free-music Music: Darren C...

Movement Tray CRAFT TUTORIAL. Easy and fast
Переглядів 2,5 тис.4 роки тому
I noticed that a CD-case is pretty much the ideal size for a movement tray when using 5 figures side by side with the base of 25mm. The CD-case has the width of about 13 centimeters so I decided to try them in playing Oathmark. Music: www.bensound.com/royalty-free-music Instagram: virtuouscrafts

Cool stuff! Congrats
Whens your next vid?
Cool love it
Great video - I’m a newbie to board gaming/ warhaming… I feel like I now understand some of the rules now!
Tripping out. This is the first of your videos I've seen and I am sitting here in the exact same PJ pants you are wearing. You are obviously a champion. Subscribe:)
5/5 pants. Very comfy :D
I see someone else uses the hex terrain tool kit. Love that system. The game rules seem quite fun.
So cute!!
Grate stuff❤❤❤
I might try using clay. I bought one of those cheap $100 EasyThreed 3d printers on Amazon but it cluncked out on me before the spool was even half way thru.
It's a fun way to create the minis though it's quite time consuming when compared to 3d printing.
What clay did you use? Which material do you recommend ?
For the very crude looking orcs and goblins at 0:50 I used some very cheap air drying clay. Can't remember the name. For the later minis at 3:50 i used FIMO polymer clay, so that's the only brand I could recommend. I don't know how international that brand is, but any "polymer clay" from a craft store should be sufficient. There are "soft" and "hard" versions or FIMO. The soft is somewhat easier to work with but if you wanted more detail you would want the hard version.
@@VirtuosityB thank you for answering! And what you think about fimo air dry? Is it worse than clay to bake?
@@ALFaOmega717 The air dry clay "bakes itself", so it means that if you are doing something more detailed the clay might start drying up while you're sculpting it. I tried one air drying clay and I only use it for doing the bases now, since it dries too fast to create anything too complex.
Thanks for the adv generator & nice review .
nice work … i cringe though with how you keep cutting towards your fingers
Thanks. When sculpting small parts it's sometimes hard to keep the blade facing away. Though I rarely cut myself, I did had to bandage myself at one point while filming this video ':D
These turned out really cool. Love the finger bandage. (Been there plenty of times.)
Yep. I cut myself in the beginning 😅
the worm guys look like plankton with 2 eyes lol, otherwise I really like the minis and im planning to make some
Yeah they are a bit cartoonish compared to the rest ':D. I like the look even though they do stand out from the others
SERIOUS? To avoid having the plastic grass on your carpet you suggest going outside to get rid of it? SHAME ON YOU! I mean common this is really a dickmove - just use your table and a vacuum cleaner or much better don`t buy this crap.
Thank you very much, just subscribed. I have a question you can play with any miniature sizes ? like 15mm or 28mm ?
Yes any size is okay. Usually its good to have same size for all same sized minis
What tool did you use to sculpt the clay at 1:53?
It was just a very small knife. I believe craft stores sell those. I found it in "Clas Ohlson", which is a store that sells all kinds of stuff like paint, craft supplies but also small kitchen appliances and small technology.
@@VirtuosityB I see, thanks for the info!
This is basically Frostgrave in another skin?
Yes. The game plays out exactly like Frostgrave but with a little bit of flavour added with some RPG-mechanics. It's a very well made coop experience.
Mix clay with real prastic bit give a nice result
well done . nice work. definitely try one by myself!
Thanks!
exactly what i needed, this would be a nice project for me.
Tell me how it turned out! I'm still actively using the mats I made
@@VirtuosityB once i finished ot, i have yet to buy the materials but I'm quite excited to make one.
I really appreciate not trying to stretch the video artificially but you could have gone slightly slower on the build. Still, I like it a lot.
Thanks for the feedback! Been trying to find the right balance.
Nice build. I love the added touches, such as the "metal" plates
Thanks!
First one! 🙂
Simple yet quite effective little pieces of terrain. Thanks for sharing :D
Always fascinating to see the tiny scale builds. You did a great job. Those look amazing
9gag brought me here
Great build!
Thanks!
1st viewer, excellent review, thank you! Can you relink your work in progress scenario builder please? The other link doesn’t work anymore.
Thank you for the kind words! Of course. I'll upload it to google drive and add the link to description so it won't expire. Bear in mind the mission generator isn't ready and it does need some balancing.
I think despite it looking amateur compared to professionally made, but I think it looks amazing as is as being place holders for the enemies/npcs etc. And besides you can always improve the pieces when you finally have the the time for sculpting or when ever you feel like it. The good part of doing this is, you don't have to buy expensive minis, but also improves your art skills as well. And you can make anything you want.
Yep. If I remember correctly I said in the video that these aren't perfect but suits my game table just fine and moreover the crafting and tinkering is fun even though the end product doesn't even compare to 3D-printed minis.
Thanx
Good stuff!
What if you rough sanded the surface before applying the glue? That might allow for better glue coverage.
That is true. I believe I didn't have any sand paper at the time.
I'm betting this would look really good with some flocking :)
It might need very fine flocking. I tend to use sawdust for flocking so that would be way too thick material.
Awesome video!
Thanks!
Great mats,thanks for sharing.
Glad to be of help!
Awesome tutorial ! Love it . A great inspiration for a future medieval project . Glad to discover your channel . Subscribed !
Awesome!
Nice! Turned out well. I really like how small it is, as I've been building muddy holes, with borders, flocking, etc. These seem better, both for ease of placement and for storage
Yep. I specially built it in this size so that I can use it in Oathmark. One of the spells creates muddy patch so this works well there.
I also made a ruined guardian in approx 28mm scale from breath of the wild
Prepainted flail snail is like 40 bucks on ebay and probavly rare to buy. $5 for a tub of crayola airdry clay and $5-$8 for seashells at michaels. A little wire and basic sculpting Boom Many flail snails
Sounds awesome!
Hobby Lobby has these. They call it something else.
A little tip that I've learned at University, when you fold up the mat try to make it with the grass in the outside, it makes it last longer, can seem contradictory, but it works with pictures over canvas because the fabric is more flexible than the material that emulate grass and dirt (in that case).
Nice quick build. Thanks.
Glad you liked it!
Nice quick scatter.
What a great way to fully immerse yourself into your games. I applaud the fact that you gave time to sculpt your own figures. How about an Umber Hulk? It's my favorite monster and I'd love to see your take on it! I'm now a subscriber! Take care, John from OOTW
Umber hulk might actually be a fun one to do. I doubt I can get it as detailed as in concept art, but I'll add it to my project list. I've been busy with other stuff so all my crafting has been on halt for a while now but I'll definitely go for that at some point
This looks like a flower mat they sell at Michael’s...
It could be the same. I've seen mats similar to this in several places. Also Lidl sold something like this a while ago
damn good idea will try and order one
Awesome! I'm still happy with my purchase after the bit of work it needed
The spiders are super cute <3
Thanks ':D
Good stuff. I'm really liking those CD jewel case shards as crystals
