Just booked a Mustang for 6/11, and CANNOT WAIT!!! We are ones to try and stay away from the “lolly pop” cruise tours and the cattle herding that comes with trains… Looking forward to an independent and private day in an awesome ride, while supporting a local business!

Just did this trip last week - early June 2023 - (in their Hyundai Ioniq 5) - worth....every....penny! Easy drive (one long road) and you get to stop when you want (unlike the train in Skagway) and for as long as you want. Views are incredible for the ENTIRE drive up to Emerald Lake. Nicole - so, so sorry for your loss. You continue to be in our prayers!

Is it safe to drive with young kids? We are not able to decide among scenic rail vs bus tour vs renting a car and drive through. We have royal Caribbean and Skagway stop is 7am-3pm. Do we have enough time for this drive ?
It is totally safe for driving with kids. You would have time to do most (if not all) of the drive!
Hi I really enjoyed your tour video. I just have one question I have booked a cruise for July. I am doing the railway tour. it booked for 2:15 pm But I really want to do the drive . 😊my ship gets there at six do you think I have enough time to go up to Emerald Lakes? If I rent a car
We'll be doing this drive in July from our cruise ship. Is ArriveCan mandatory to cross the border?

How long does the drive take? With stops?? We’re cruising in may!!
Technically it is about a two hour drive one way (without stops). I would plan 5-7 hours, so you have plenty of time to stop and enjoy the views and attractions along the way! May is my favorite month here! I hope you enjoy!!!

Thank you! It is about 105 km from Skagway to Carcross. You can stay overnight in Carcross.
Is it scary to drive through avalanche area?
Not during the summer months! There is no real danger during the cruise season.
What about in early October ?

What is the weather like in Mid to Late September?
Cool, crisp..usually a little more rain. But the weather can be very different in Skagway and the Yukon. It could be rainy in Skagway and then be sunny in the Yukon. The fall colors are beautiful during that time!

Glad you enjoyed it! It is 145 miles round trip. With stops for enjoying the scenery, I would allow at least 5-6 hours!

Always makes me nervous flying that deep into skagway before turning back for the airport. No where to go if things go south.

They keep the fleet here year round for when we have 15k people a day coming from the cruise ships!

Hi Melanie, our Rad Power Bikes fleet gives you the option of using either pedal assist or use of a thumb throttle. Pedal assist is adjustable from level 0(no assist) to 5 (maximum assist) So the choice is yours!
Do you have organized group tours or a self guided tour via bike ???
@@melanielarson4472 We offer both, however due to the impact of Coronavirus, we will likely do self guided rentals for the abbreviated 2020 season them resume our guided tours for 2021 onward.
