I wonder what happened to the Actress that played Shantel
Classic franchise to this day. I love all of them including the last installment as a one season series. Never get tired of these characters ❤
Love 2pac ❤😊 RIP
I love this show ❤ n u c it now tubi ❤#DisneyDiva ❤
Show could’ve lasted at least 6 seasons if they stuck with the original cast
@@koreysantos3335 a Strong 7 seasons definitely
@ yes definitely and with a proper series finale
Ice T did his thing on there
Man best show ever. And I agree they could have killed off lequinta or Eddie's girl I can't spell her name but she was a B! RIP EDDIE the show is on tubi for free BTW. NEW YORK UNDERCOVER. BEST SHOW EVER. SALENA THO AND ALL THE ARTIST AT NATALYS❤
I grew up during this time. Still today this is one of my favorite shows to binge watch
Give us a modern movie version of this show like they did with Miami Vice in 2006.
The problem is....the film was terrible
It was a really good show!!!👍
They made The Greatest Mistake Ever When They Killed Off Eddie!!!!!😢
They enjoyed being shocked
I've been watching this show after work on Tubi for the past few weeks & idk it seems even better now than when I was younger. My mom used to watch it when I was a little girl.(I'm 37) It was a great show throughout its run but the 1st couple of seasons are my absolute favorite. ✨😌💥🚔💛🩵
27 years later, killing off Eddie still has me messed up.
I'm still listening in 2024. No matter who sings the song "Stay With Me" from their (All The Time Album) I always come back to the Temptations version! ❤❤❤❤❤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Tubi #NewYorkUndercover they deserved better!! Thank you Malik Yoba Luna Lauren Velez Michael DeLorenzo
They could/should have had a longer run! Brown ppl on TV in this light was the best inspiration ever. #JCWilliams #NinaMoreno #EddieTorres
Greatest show ever
Thursdays Nights Was a Must See TV ,Back Then On Fox Network, Martin, Living Single & NewYork Undercover Are The Best 💯 Period
Hard To Believe It's Been 30 Years Since This Show Premiered On Fox Network,Time Flies
Why would fox focus on 13% of the population? Television programming exists to sell advertising to corporations. It makes no sense to pander to a minority population that lives off of handouts and can’t buy the items advertised during commercials
Because they aren't really 13 percent. It's more like 35 percent
@ lol no
Blacks put FOX on the map...made them RICH...and look how they repaid us. They should release all episodes of the show on DVD in a boxed set. I'd sure as hell would buy it.
This Episode Made Me Realize How Great Of An Actor Morris Chestnut Is & It Makes You Realize He's The Star Of The Movie Talent Wise. He Had To Go From Being An Playboy Athlete, To Being Angry, To Being Wholesome & Forgiving, To Being Emotionally Torn The Next Scene & Back To Being Happy In The End. Datz Real Talent.
Episode with the most impact was the that reflected the 11 year old killer Yummy. The writer on this tv series was epic
That episode is called “Manchild”, it’s my favorite episode of the entire series. It made me want to cry
@@niabelizaire3596I’m 37 yrs old and I remember being 7-8 yrs old remembering the scene where he goes up the steps and they are waiting for him. Now that it’s on peacock I was searching for that scene and finally found it after 30yrs
@@jamescarter474 And the look on Mouse's face when they cornered him, the poor baby was terrified. Then Eddie and JC discovered his body, it broke my heart. I'm eighteen years old and this show came out eleven years before I was born, but I first watched New York Undercover on BET and I've been a fan of the show for like two years at this point.
@ yup. My older brother swears I was too young to watch it but I’m like man I remember all that, ice t killing JC fiancé and all that. I might have been 7-8 but I wa still Tuned in just like he was!!! Lol
Great film definitely one of my favorites 🔥.
Wow! What a wonderfull voice....
Thank you for this Unsung New York Undercover...I had no idea how many African Americans were behind the making of this show! I LOVED this awesome show and characters! It was way ahead of it's time!! I could not miss an episode...until they killed off Eddie and Patty D'arbenville left!! Dick Wolf kinda redeemed himself with SVU with Ice-T and Chicago PD with La Royce Hoskins and Benjamin Levy Aguilar!!
Andre Harrell RIP
Rest in Paradise Andre Harrell
Wow Mr. Weeks...love it!!!!
NY Undercover could’ve been great but they screwed it up. The music was the only thing they got right. JC was the stereotypical black dude. Baby mama, light skinned gf, always making racist comments but it’s ok because he’s black lol. The plots and characters were corny AF. The music was the only thing that fit
Lol
I disagree on the plots part. They did get a lot of that right, tho it could’ve been better but Season 4 was terrible
Season four was terrible but the first three seasons was classic it way better a lot of drama show that out in today times
I did think of a way Eddie could come back. They can write that he faked his death and went into witness protection. Keep in mind they didn’t show his dead body
But what is Nina an jc gonna do if they started dating an Eddie come back
I love everything Dick Wolf makes, but messing up New York Undercover was his biggest mistake. He said NYU was no Friends & he was right. It was better & it was a show that represented people of color in a positive light & had a lot of heart.
Naw he also was responsible for changing the tone of Miami Vice too. He took over MV during season 3 and it started to lose the style that had made it so famous and gave it dark vibe. It seems like his MO to take a show that has a great formula that makes a show a hit then decides to give the show a "realistic" feel and kills the vibe.
The big nose white cop ruined the show
You mean tommy
@@gloriadarty6150 yup
He grew on me
@@gloriadarty6150 please explain how
Overtime He bonded with them and he was cool that's my opinion
I watch one episode M-F on Peacock. I love it more now than I did then and I didn't think that was possible 🖤🤎. It's awful how undervalued and unappreciated this show and the actors were.
I'm rewatching it as well LOL it's so good
The Best Man was part of that special era of film in the late 90s and early 2000s that showed us an entirely different world for Black people on screen. The aspirational "young black professionals" movies as a I like to call them showed the world that there was way more to Black life than "the hood" or violence or racism and all that other stuff. The Best Man, Love Jones, Soul Food,Love & Basketball, Brown Sugar, Barbershop 1 and 2, The Brothers, Breakin' All Da Rules, Two Can Play That Game, Deliver Us From Eva and Just Wright have all become classics and were great follow ups to what great films like Boomerang and Waiting To Exhale started. And just like Malcolm and the others said, these were not "Black films" the stories and characters happened to be Black and there were certainly Black nuances and culutural aspects, but they were universal stories about love, friendship, careers etc that were seen through the eyes of Black people. The industry needs to remember this.
New York Undercover crawled so law and order could walk
Preach that!!!
You mean svu ? Cause the original law and order started in 1990
Say it louder for the people in the back
Exactly 💯
Classic
FOX Is good example that black people needed a black distribution company in Hollywood. Not to provide a racist like statement (and I apologize to my white brothers and sisters if I do), but having white folks give insight into how they can make a show full of black culture with the proper formula even better, is what killed New York Undercover in the first place. That could have been Dick Wolf's additional bread and butter next to Law and Order because hip hop was a growing genre and we are constantly exploited in a negative light everyday. So many creative ideas and money to be made, but everything was dumped in the trash just to impress some folks who already had their hands full with Law and Order and NYPD Blue?
I have a 24/7 channel of this show with NO COMMERCIALS. Absolutely terrible what they did after season 3 😢😢😢
Why did Whoopi say that Ollie replace David. She couldve rephrase that question a different way. Everyone knows he replace Dennis Edwards.
She was talking in terms of line of succession
@dillinghamfilm I get that, but at the same time, Dennis is Dennis. She as an media person should've knew that.
The minute they added whites it was all over. Show was doomed. But I guess thats what fox wanted. Smh
NY Undercover was a GREAT show. When they brought on Ice T as Danny Up it just changed the entire feel of the show, especially after he killed Sandy. Fox may not have done everything right with the show but you have to give them credit for even taking a chance with a network drama featuring two men of color as the leads.
Huge piece of my childhood here. I remember begging my parents to stay up to watch it. When I did good in school I was allowed to. Thursday Nights on FOX used to be a whole event. Rest In Power James Mtume and Andre Harrell. those Brothas don't get enough credit for the Soul they put in the first 3 seasons of this show.
damn Nostalgia, miss great tv shows like this will never be another New York Undercover
Ice T and Duck Wolf were both gangstas
It was amazing to have a positive portrayal of Puerto Ricans. We don't get that much. New york Undercover needs a reboot and a Grand theft auto style videogame. Bring the original cast back have it take place between season 2 and 3. 😊
I don't care for cop/dective or lawyer shows but new York undercover is an exception it was a 100 percent urban and hip hop it was less like watching a tv version of new jack city it had the same vibe that the hood movies in the 90s jc and Torres were both young and fine
Best comment!!!! I also don't care for cop shows but to see the show clearly represented the world I come from was so dope.
The entire show is on Amazon prime
And peacock
And Tubi
The first three seasons were gold. The last season not so much 😂
