For mining I guess you just walk and do your own stuff, don't fight unless it's necessary. For the bats, you can bring "bat zapper" to kill them off quickly. And yes, I agree, making hostile mobs fighting each other is also a good strategy.

You can change your computer date to December before loading your game as well.

You need to have "Quarry" or "Deep Mine" unlocked. You can also mine natural ores spawned in the world.

You need to get a "Quarry" and place it down. Check Dinkum Wiki for "Quarry"

If I remember correctly, it targets random animal, the petting state is not considered. But keep in mind this was made 7-8 months ago, there might be updates that changed the functionality of the guitar.

I used cheats to get John's outfit, I think you can get the clothes without cheating, only the head requires cheats xD

Haha actually I tried to keep it simple my friend, my actual clothing style looks very luxurious that I feel like it won't fit the theme of the game so I chose the simple original style just for recording. 😂

For the mining nodes, I suggest you to watch Tips and Tricks part 2, at the Rocky Dirt Tiles section for more information. Basically, there is a rocky tile called "Quary_RockyDirt" that generates ores over time, it works similarly to a quarry. These tiles are usually spawned as veins/nodes on the map, if you find one then I recommend you to build your town nearby so that you can get free ores every day. 😄 Dinkum Tips and Tricks part 2 here btw: ua-cam.com/video/Qh92nLmVQdk/v-deo.html
