Susan, I am sorry you did not enjoy the video. I’d like to agree to disagree though. I fly aer lingus over a dozen times a year, I collect miles with them and generally have to fly them living in cork to get to the likes of Heathrow. I’ve also flown Ryanair as well as many other airlines and I can tell you there’s really not much of a difference between Ryanair and Aer Lingus. There is however a huge gap in quality between Aer Lingus and other European carriers. With regards to the new neos, they offer a worse product than the current 320s. There’s no head rest and the legroom has been reduced. Also you really can compare them to Ryanair, you are paying a premium for a frankly identical product. The baggage policy is the exact same nowadays, as is the buy on board food option. Aer Lingus are only worth the premium if it is not a significantly larger margin than Ryanair given the fact they have their loyalty programme and slots at preferred airports such as Heathrow or Charles de Gaulle. You are right, I do prefer other carriers. I payed €35 with BA and flew a comfortable 320neo with WiFi and complimentary drinks and snacks into Heathrow. Aer Lingus charged me €90 for a similar flight weeks before on a 320 with broken recline and frankly appalling cleanliness however like I said living in Cork I do not have much of a choice.

Susan I'm not sure how you can say that. It's true that Are Lingus are becoming more low cost. Like Ryanair you now have to pay to bring a suitcase in the cabin. My seat with them on my recent flight was a small bit worn out. You can have criticisms of an airline and still like flying with them.

Haha indeed, to be honest having flown it twice now I feel it is a safe and worthy aircraft. There's definitely a possibility! Funny thing is the ground crew didn't seem to be employed by Swissport either, the name on their jackets escape me but it looks like it could be some sort of contract/franchise agreement to operate as "Blue Handling"

@@skiesofireland3429 That's what Ryanair's handling unit in Stansted and Spain seems to be called. Ryanair have been using Swissport but with this new equipment I wonder if that's set to change.

Hi Richard, you're right! Should have mentioned that. I do think however the option to buy on board even with a limited selection should exist though. Perhaps this is just me personally but I don't tend to think about what I will have lunch a few weeks in advance and in my opinion Airlines should acknowledge this. Thanks for watching!

Aer Lingus aren't worth it for the price anymore i dont think your better off going Ryanair to STN the max's problems are long fixed

@@corkairportaviation3182 I don't like the idea of going on a max so I avoid Ryanair. Even if there's a €20 difference you've still got to pay more for the Stansted Express and build in a bit more time.

@@FrecciaNeraM36 Of course, it is not my intent to influence your decisions and please don't let my opinion do so, but I can assure you that the MAX aircraft is safe to fly. I have flown on it twice and at no point during those journeys have I felt unsafe. I am related to someone who is currently a First Officer with Ryanair, he aswell sees them as safe to fly!

Thank you very much Michael! Indeed, I am just back from my last trip with KLM and they have retained the same sandwich and drink service in spite of the removal of Covid restrictions onboard. It's well worth giving it a try, not only does it support a small airport like Cork but it incentivises KLM to grow the route further bringing the likes of larger aircraft such as the 737 in and allow Irish air travel become less reliant on Dublin. Hopefully I will have another one towards the end of September and thank you again!

Thank you very much Robert! Yes, it seemed I was the only person without a seatmate. I’m flying KLM once again next week and it’s fully booked both ways, it seems to have been a great success story for both KLM and Cork Airport.

Also, if you have any other photo ID that might work. Maybe speak to Ryanair about it

Nope, for some reason it doesn’t exist for Irish domestic flights. It shouldn’t exist for flights from the UK either (due to the Common Travel Area) however it’s still there
