DELL’s 17” XPS - A Creator’s Laptop
The DELL XPS laptops are some of the best Windows laptops for content creators. With large, color accurate screens and dedicated NVIDIA graphics cards.. they get the job done! And look good doing it!
They first offered Intel 10th gen chips with NVIDA 2060 graphics.
They currently offer Intel 12 gen chips with NVIDIA 3060 graphics.
I won't be surprised if we see Intel 13th gen chips with NVIDIA 4060 graphics soon in these DELL XPS models.
The only downside is that they really need to be plugged in to achieve maximum performance. That is the one big upper hand Apple has always had over Windows based laptops.
On the other hand, Windows dominates the gaming space so I enjoy a powerful content creation machine that can also handle some of my favorite games at the end of the day.

DJI OSMO ACTION - Review in 2022 | Should you still buy one even with the release of the new one?
Переглядів 35 тис.2 роки тому
The DJI Osmo Action has always been one of my favorite action cameras to carry around with me since it was released. Is it still worth buying the original now that DJI has released the new one? Watch to find out why I still love this little action camera and see some footage of a special trip to Disney.. all recorded with the DJI Osmo Action. Kastor X #DJI

DJI Pocket 2 Review | The Best Compact Video Camera | 4K 60fps Footage in YOUR POCKET!
Переглядів 12 тис.3 роки тому
The DJI Pocket 2 is one of the best compact video cameras you can buy that is easy to bring with you, takes high quality video up to 4K 60 frames per second, motion lapse and hyper lapse videos, and allows you to vlog inconspicuously in public. The footage is super stabilized without a crop due to the built in motorized gimbal. Even the low light performance is impressive. If you want a super c...
I am still using it, bro it is the legend of action cameras 😎
Absolutely! The original! Tempted to try one of the newer models though for sure since I imagine I have gotten my moneys worth out of the first version at this point. I am not one to always need the latest and greatest but I imagine some things have changed for the better over the past five iterations. Whatever works to capture great images works for me!
Still trying to find a black mist filter for the pocket too it seems they only have them for pocket three
I took a look as well. Lots of ND filters and no black mist for the Pocket 2. I even checked EBAY and couldn’t find any on there either. There are tutorials on UA-cam on how to create a similar effect in post but obviously it’s extra work and not exactly the same.
My pocket 2 arrives tomorrow, I cant wait. Awesome video thanks
Enjoy it my friend. That thing has lived in my bag for a long time! It’s great.
I want the 7, but the action 1 turn out to be same price. may i ask what function and features the 7 have and the action does not? I see hyperlapse and narrow fov , but no one talks about other functions the reason of it is gopro is perfect, just the audio issue. dji battery door attacked to the battery is bullshit, and feature . it is action cam so the screen , the ui...( like i don't need playback on small screen, etc) please give me some advice. because dji can use 3rd party mic adapter so i am confused between 2 options
Right now I would highly consider the DJI Action 4 because it is on sale new for $269 and works great wirelessly with the DJI Mic 2 over bluetooth if you ever pick one of those up in the future. The sound quality of that combo is great! I am guessing it is on sale because they will be releasing the new Action 5 / Pro soon. You can also find the Action 3 used for $150 or less. I just checked EBAY. That would be my second choice if I needed a cheaper option.
Which mics are those?
I don’t know if this brand still makes these but it’s very similar to the Deity D4 Mini Microphone. Much better sound than the internal mics but you need a mic adapter for the Osmo action to plug it in. So two purchases. Still worth it.
Can you give some information about the magnetic ND filters? Hoping they might still be available somewhere.
PolarPro Vivid Cinema Filter Set. Still available! In stock on Amazon.
How does the battery hold up over time?
Great! I have had it for a few years and the original battery still lasts a long time when I record.
I still use the original Action at times. Sometimes in a cage with a wireless go and/or a light. It's still a great camera. Found no need to upgrade it yet.
I still feel the same way. This little camera can take a beating and keep going! The Action 4 looks really nice but I found an Action 2 at a great price and I want to make a video about it.
I was 1k like 😂
Thanks for watching!
Nice cinematography. Too many mini jitters.
Thanks. One of the first things I shot with the Pocket 2. Definitely a learning experience.
Man, I almost got choked up a bit on your video. You did such an excellent job, not only coming across in a very personable way, but the actual content of you title. I think you checked all the boxes on this one. I'm looking for a cheaper action cam but that still has most of the "goods", and this might be it. Thank you for a great presentation. Marc. T.
I appreciate those kind words more than you know. You can probably find one on the used market for a good deal! Maybe check out EBAY or Facebook Marketplace. Thanks Marc.
With all due respect to the work, but I still found images to be very shaky, I've seen presentations of this equipment and they were much more fluid images as in a professional gimbla. These however shook a lot. I don't know if that was the intention of the shots. There was a lack of color treatment and the images seemed processed to force a digital stabilization, causing distortions in the images that are deformed. But overall, the editing was beautiful.
Thanks. I don’t mind the criticism. I was probably ill prepared to shoot this but I definitely learned a lot by trial and error. I got a few okay shots in there but there were some that weren’t great. The overexposure on the shot of the wedding party entrance bugs me a lot as well. Every scene was new lesson learned so that I can do better next time. Appreciate you taking the time to watch.
I was wondering if someone was gonna point that out, it does look cinematic but i thought the gimbal was supposed to stabilize the shot more
Not sure why it looks shaky.. but I know I am excited about the release of the Pocket 3 next week! I haven’t shot much recently but I am excited to pick up the new one and get back to it!
Just got a used one yesterday. Thank you for this video!
Have fun with it. That little camera is great! And thanks for the kind words about my video.
@@Kastor_X you rock man! 🧑🎤
Great video on a budget pocket camera..just needs to add more slowmo shots for that more dreamy look, overall great video👍
You’re right! I Immediately regretted not shooting a few more slow motion shots. Next time I will at least get a few 60fps shots so I can slow it down in post if I want to. Thanks for the kind comment.
Can you tell me the best settings for it for daily downloads? I just got a used one after seeing your presentation and thank you
I usually film in 4K 24fps with auto settings for ease of use. I will film in 60fps when I plan on doing slow motion in post. You can film in 1080p resolution for smaller file sizes if you don’t need the higher 4K resolution. The color right out of the camera is pretty good if you don’t want to color grade in post production software. If you like to color grade you might enjoy recording in the D-Cinelike color profile for a flatter image that is preferable for grading. Good luck with your new camera. I love that thing. It was one of my favorite little action cameras of all time.
@@Kastor_X thanks 👍👍👍👍
Nice work!!! Did you use any ND filter?
Hey, thanks! I had just purchased the Pocket 2 so I didn’t have any when I filmed this. And I was using auto exposure so the you can see some of the shots / skies are not exposed properly. I now use manual settings and a set of magnetic ND filters so I get better results. I can also use slower shutter speeds in bright situations with the NDs and the footage looks more ‘cinematic’ to me. I was not the videographer at this wedding. I just put together these shots last minute for them since they didn’t have one. They were happy I captured some memories for them. Photos are nice but video always makes me feel like I am reliving the day. I love a good wedding video. I would love to film one with a more professional camera setup.
Good job my friend keep up the good work😊
Thanks! That means a lot!
Hello ! cool video ! do you process the footage? do you use color correction? What settings do you usually shoot with the osmo action?
Hey! I used mostly auto settings for these clips. I do use manual settings in a controlled environment or with ND filters to keep my shutter speed low for more of a cinematic look but on the run I have found the auto setting just fine. I film in D-Cinelike because I do a little bit of color grading on the footage in Adobe Premiere. Because the low light performance isn’t great I will use Neat Video software to clean up a little bit of the noise sometimes. It’s great for that! I believe most of this footage was 24 FPS if I remember correctly but I do use 30 FPS sometimes and occasionally 60fps if I plan to slow it down in post. Thanks for watching!
Subscribed because of editing skills, nice video man!
Hey thanks!!! I really appreciate that. More to come for sure!
Is there an online manual for this product? My daughter just gave me one and I can’t figure out how to use it. Thank you.
There absolutely is! I just Google’d ‘DJI Action User Manual’ and it was the top link! I would post the link here but it is too long. The Google search will get you right to it. Thanks for watching!
"Buy something cool, with the money you saved". Like a very expensive wedding present?????
I got her tickets to see Hamilton on Broadway in NYC. Those were definitely expensive! Thanks for watching Mark!
Congrats on your proposal! Great success! It’s true we should not ignore the old one just because a new one is out. Thank you. I’m just looking for a day time walk around strapped to my chest pov camera. Would you recommend it?
Thanks! You could use this if you are willing to wear an action camera type chest mount.. but the DJI Action 2 is smaller and can simply be attached to your shirt with its magnetic lanyard system. Or the Insta360 Go 2 if you want a small 360 camera you can easily attach to your shirt with a magnet as well. They all work it just depends on your needs. 🤙🏻
Did you propose at the end
I did! At Epcot during the firework show. I have the full video on a separate channel. She said yes!
Thanks for this video
I appreciate that. Thank YOU for watching!
Great work here - love it. KEEP GOING. I'd love to see you publishing more videos.
Thanks Sean! Consistency is always a challenge.. but no excuses. I need to make more time to publish. I fall into the trap of prioritizing tasks in life that bring me the most income and UA-cam is not that.. yet. Making videos is certainly a passion though and it would be criminal to live a life without passion. Looking forward to your future videos as well man. 🎥 🙌🏼
@@Kastor_X dig it and can 100% relate. Keep crushing
I first bought an Osmo pocket 2 creator combo. Although it's a fine camera for carrying around or putting it on a tripod for following your face, which can add interesting effects, it was not for me. It seemed to be just too fragile for dirty environment. And used stationary with no face to follow, it has to be observed all the time, because if it is in follow mode and loses your face, it often just shuts off after a while. So i wanted the action 2, but heard about the overheating issues. Almost bought the brand new action 3, but the price tag was hefty. So i looked around and finally bought a rarely used osmo action 1 in pristine condition, saved a ton of money - and i'm very happy with my purchase even in 2023. It does a so much better job than my former action cams like the cheap, really bad apeman or my older sonys. Rocksteady 1 stabilization is just as smooth as the osmo pocket 2 gimbal was, without being picky with faces, picture with dewarp on is great, haven't missed rocksteady 2 with horizontal stabilization yet. Audio is as good as with any good smartphone camera - good enough for my workshop use. So - osmo action one in 2023 as a cheap really good action cam solution to start with: yes, anytime. Better than any competitor from the same timeframe. If money is no issue - would skip the action 2 and buy action 3 right away.
Really an artistic hand 👍
Thanks! I appreciate that.
Great review mate thank you. A genuine take on equipment that already works just fine. I'll be investing in that setup you've got with the external mic.
Love it! This little camera has done well by me so far! If you can find a deal on a used one even better. Thanks for the support!
best 17 inch laptop in the market with a good cooling system (vapor Chamber)
100% worth mentioning that vapor chamber cooling system! It’s more efficient than the standard pipe and fan cooling a lot of other laptops use. I haven’t had any issues with overheating.
fire review !!
I really appreciate that! Thanks!
What shotgun mic are you using in this video with the osmo action?
Take a look at the Movo VXR10 on Amazon. It’s very similar. You will also need a CYNOVA audio adapter to add a microphone jack to the original Osmo but it’s worth it especially if you get a cage with a mic hot shoe.
Great cinematography and great camera, only critique is that it could probably use some color grading but other than that the colors look very natural and true to the environment
Thanks! I agree. It was last minute footage for the bride with the only camera I had with me. Not the best wedding video but a good example of the quality you can expect from a small pocket camera like the DJI Pocket 2. That little camera is so capable for its size. They were happy to have a video of their big day and I had fun!
is it me or is it shaking?
It is in some of the shots for sure! I believe the torque of the motor caused this since I was using a single light weight tripod. I get better results now with a heavier tripod or even two tripods on the two mounting points.
Nice review. We purchased one of these for our running channel, in Aug.'19, a couple days before our 5th Rim2Rim at the Grand Canyon. It's still going strong (Nov.'22) and has been on a lot of long trail runs. We put a pair of the little stick-on "fuzzy dead cat" mic covers on it, and that transformed it into a great outdoor/running camera. We just use it naked, clamped in a really cheap (because it's so light) 39" selfie stick. The Osmo Action 3 just came out recently, and I wanted to buy a 2nd camera. I didn't see anything in the reviews or specs that made the expense of the 3 worth it to me. I'm not an expert or anything, so maybe I made a mistake, but I just purchased an extremely nice used "1" with a full kit of great stuff that the owner had with it.
There are obviously some upgrades on the Action 3 but my original is still going strong as well and I am still happy with the image quality as long as their is sufficient light. I love the idea of a sticky dead cat for wind resistance. The mics were never one if it’s strong points. And yea, You can definitely find some deals on the used market for sure now that they released the third iteration. Thanks for watching!
@@Kastor_X the mic covers are on Am0 zon. Search: micover 3/4" round stickover mini
Will do. Thanks!
🙌
Thanks! A decent quality image for such a small pocket size camera, right?
@@Kastor_X I’m going to wait for the pocket 3.
i purchased a GoPro hero 5 a while back and was looking around for another camera that shoots in higher resolution with better FPS i looked at a video of the action 3 wow fantastic then i found out that it has serious focus issues so would the action 1 be a good alternative waiting for dji to possibly sort the focus issue?
At this point I would probably lean towards the new DJI Action 3 since it is a similar build quality to this one with some nice updates to the picture quality / features. And believe me the first Osmo Action was one of my favorite action cameras, I was on the fence about the form factor of the Action 2, and I really love that they returned to this design for the third iteration. Plus it is less expensive than a new GoPro as well. The price is reasonable! Unless you can find a used original Osmo Action for a great price than I would still consider it.
Very Excellent Work, and congratulations to the lovely couple!! 💑 👍
Thanks! I thought the video quality from the Pocket 2 was pretty good overall. It struggled with some of the sky highlights it times but other than that it’s an impressive little camera.
How did you got D-cinelike with this camera ? I thought it was not available
Yes! I believe you just have enable ‘PRO’ mode first. Then you can go to color and change it from Normal to D-Cinelike.
What mode did you use for this footage?
I believe it was 4K 24fps, auto ISO, in the D-picture profile. And mostly just the Tilt Locked mode to keep a level horizon.
Which ND filters did you grab? Considering this for outdoor shooting in relatively bright situations
The magnetic ND filter system from PolarPro since it is so fast to change them. And the magnets are strong. If you are using your NDs underwater you will probably need ones that screw on instead. I don’t think the magnetic system is waterproof but I could be wrong!
I've used it for 2 years and love it so much, love the quality of the video and convinience is what I looked
I carry it around in my pocket. So convenient! Thank you for watching!
Good honest review! Good job! I've just ordered the brand new Osmo Action 3 on discount already for €300. But now also found a newly and sealed Osmo Action 1 with a 3 extra batteries, lens filters and some other accesories for only €200. I'm thinking about returning the 3 now after seeing your video, because it's still 1/3 of the price, which is quite a lot haha Although the Osmo Action 3 specs are truly amazing. And I think the steady horizon option is going to be great on the motorcycle.
Thanks! I made this video a little while ago but I still love my Action 1. I recently picked up the Action 2 to see if I like the new design. I am waiting on the 3 for now since the specs are similar to the 2 I just picked up and will probably review. I can’t wait to test horizon leveling more.. But yea there are definitely some deals now for the first one, especially in the used market. Thanks so much for watching!
Honestly, i'd go for the cheaper osmo action on a motorbike. Didn't try it myself, because i "traded" my bike for dogs - but i heard stories of ruining autofocus on a motorbike in no time. And i've no reason to doubt that, because normally you live with hefty vibration on a bike. But your choice was 4 month ago - what's your experience? It sure is a huge difference between helmet or handlebar mount in vibration forces.
@@werner.x I actually think it depends where you ride and what for motorcycle you have. Maybe a streetbike on decent asphalt could have less vibration then going offroad with an MTB. But actually returned my OA3 already after a few days. It was suffering from the focus issue and I went for the Hero11 on a verry good discount.
@@rockel83 Thanks for the reply. Glad i did buy the action 1 then instead of the 3. Not a single issue so far and a fast and reliable focus, knock on wood...
@@werner.x yeah I was also verry disappointed in the oa3. Got the Hero11 for actually the same price. So a no brainer then. Although the OA1 is also still a verry great cam!
Amazing video dude! 🤘
Thanks man. Can’t wait to make some more soon! The support is greatly appreciated.
dji osmo action is still the best underwater💪
I am happy they offer this form factor again with the new Osmo Action 3! Love my original!
y this product is not availabil in india
I am not sure! I ordered one as an early KickStarter product backer. But I am in the US. You could reach out to Gudsen MOZA and see what your options are. It’s a cool product. I like it for the most part but I am sure there are other app controllable electronic sliders available to you if not this one. Thanks for watching!
Nice one keep it up and congratulationes
Thanks! I really appreciate that.
Well done man
Hey I really appreciate that. Not my best work but last minute Pocket 2 to the rescue for sure! Super capable little camera.
This is still 10x times better than the new Action 2!
I am going to get my hands on an Action 2 soon and find out for sure!
@@Kastor_X You should just to see how bad it is...sure, it's got a few things going for it, but overall, it's a few steps backward in my book.
I've had mine since it's debut a couple of years ago and love it! Like you said, it's small enough to throw in a pocket to have full 4k video as well as high quality still photos at any time. I highly recommend the DJI OSMO Action!
Thanks! I couldn’t agree more. Great little camera!
My workhorse camara wouldn’t change it for the world
It’s been my go to action cam for a while! I might test out the new one in a video soon just to see how it compares.
