Are those klipsch speakers??
@@ricomartin8720 Monitor audio Silver 100 7g. They have gold woofers similar to Klipsch
These are probably the best kept secret in audio for speakers that suit lowish powered SET /tube amplifiers. You can run them with a few watts.92db sensitivity and 8 ohm pretty rare.
@@thomothomo1078 agree and I also love the bookshelf version of these speakers. The dome tweeter does a great job
Yeah, the tweeter plays at 92 and the woofer at 85. Genius.
@@holmbergaudio What makes you think that? Stereophile measured the F2 at a genuine 93.5db/watt sensitivity so it is perfectly reasonable to expect the F1 to be 92db.There are plenty of 8 inch 4 ohm mid woofers that are above 92db sensitivity..
Good review. I bought a used pair off a craigslist seller in San Francisco recently for about $100 delivered. lol, I think he just wanted to get rid of them after an upgrade. Great sounding music speakers but not the best for movies/dialog in my experience. Not horrible but something I've noticed. Perhaps that a limitation of the single 8" inch driver?
@@Castaa not sure I felt the same. I used as two channels on movies and I heard voices but maybe if there are too many other sounds perhaps it gets muddled? Could it be the room?
The RC 30’s are incredible. New back in the day would have been 1680.00 Canadian. These need power. Away from the wall is better for bass. I have the RC 10’s in perfect condition. My RC 30’s sit 23 inches from my wall. Get floor spikes!!! The cabinet build on both is very solid! These are magnetically shielded speakers. They will play loud. Great product and I’d say it is better many offerings put out today.
@@bruceandt I agree that they are cleaner sounding than some of today's offerings. Thanks for watching!
😍👏🏻👏🏻
A friend offered to me a pair of RC10’s and a pair of RC 30’s I’m excited to listen to them. He also added a kenwood 80 70 amp. The amp in the day was 1000.00.
@@bruceandt that's great! Those are really nice speakers with the real wood veneer and a sound that is pretty flat without shirilness or booming bass
Just got the RC10 and the RC 30 home. I haven’t listened to them yet. I just spent some time giving them a good Ol’ scrubbing. Used a nice hardwood floor cleaner on the cabinets with a mild brush to get onto the grooves of the grain. They came up beautifully. Super looking forward to give the RC 30’s a chance to shine when setting it all up.
@@bruceandtlooking forward to hearing how it goes!
I got them for 80e and they are quite lovely.
@@SylvainThuret I agree! Fantastic speakers
I had a chance to back out of my Silver 50's for the special edition 100's. Sad I didnt but also don't regret saving the $500 and having them look goofy big at my desktop.
@@MDxGano yes they are large for desktop. I use them in my listening room and they are definitely not going anywhere. I am currently using MA Silver 3i vintage on stands in my office. The office speakers are continuously changing. The vintage MA are also stellar and will be featured soon on the channel. Thanks for watching!
@@revivehificanada Will definitely add you to the watch list, always good to see another Canadian audiophile who is passionate about their gear. I run the Silver RS6's as my floorstanders and run both systems with a Topping MX3s. If you arent scared to throw $240-$280 on a unit, I highly recommend it as a miniscule all in one that punches FAR above its asking price and size.
@@MDxGano thanks! i will look out for that topping! Stay tuned for many more speaker and amp features!
@@revivehificanada If you are in Calgary I'd gladly lend one to ya to play around with for a weekend.
@@MDxGano I am not in Calgary but thank you!
I have the Paradigm Atoms. Are these better? Subscribed.
@@HornWorm8 thanks for your question! What version of the atom's do you have? The new SE Atom?
@@revivehificanada No. I have the original Atom V.1's.
@@HornWorm8 ok I have had two pairs of Titan V1 which appear to be similar to the Atom V1 but bigger. Will be foaming my latest pair for the channel soon. Based on the experience with the Titan the SB1 will be a totally different speaker and thus it is a matter of personal taste. In terms of BUILD I would say the SB1 is quite a step up as it is a smooth finished heavy braced box with removable grills. I dislike non-removable grills. The SB1 presents itself as a high end speakee with curved edges and it's heavy build with glossy finish. Highs will be very different between these speakers as the NHT would be clearer but could be brighter depending on the amp you are using whereas my experience with the paradigm titan V1 is that it is a darker sounding speaker owing to the dome tweeter vs the aluminum on the SB1. The amp pairing has to be carried out with care for the SB1 in my experience but the results can be quite rewarding. . Mids would be similar with an edge to the SB1 for clarity. Bass would be similar but the paradigm could potentially go deeper (maybe) while the quality of bass is quite nice on the SB1 with less boom). As I said it is a matter of personal taste as the sound signature is totally different between the two. I am passionate about build quality lately though and the SB1 really surprised me in a good way while the Titan V1 bass port for example surprised me as it appears to be made of a thick cardboard/paper based material rather than a more substantial material. Again a matter of personal taste. I really like both the Titan V1 and SB1 but certain aspects are pluses and minuses between the speakers. The SB1 feels like a premium product based on build quality and scalability of performance with amp quality while the Titan V1 is comfortable with many amps, requires less power to drive because it is a ported box and has a more laid back sound signature.
Also the Paradigm has the tweeter further back on the baffle behind the non-removable grill, which likely contributes to the slightly darker sound signature
I prefer the Q 150s running through a digital amp with a about 85 watts of power per side
@@silkhead44 they are GREAT speakers for the money no doubt
Im happy owner of these speakers I compare them with kef ls 50 , with Tannoy 15 gold , Lowther , Yamaha ns series . Man , with bi wire and with dual mono amp ,these speakers are unbeatable and cost just 100 e Peace
oh boy yes, they DO punch way above their weight! Smoothness for sure. Love these!
Oh, I'm in North Carolina but when i was a youg man i did spend two years traveling the transcanadian from Toronto to Vancouver. I understand much has changed there, here too, sigh but we won't go into that. Enjoyed everything about the trip including the people.
Got a chance to get a clean pair if old PSB 500 speakers for 30 bucks U.S. Think I'll pull the trigger.
I still kick myself for selling my PSB300. Both the 300 and 500 sound so smooth. Not sure what they did but that combo of t the tweeter and woofer was magical!
Nice
Thanks very much!
I love Energy. Probably the best bang for your buck of the early 2000’s. I had the Canadian made Energy C9 large towers for years and they were awesome. I just got a Rotel A11 Tribute on sale for $650 for the bedroom. I then found a pair of the RC-10’s on marketplace for $100. Jumped on them. They sound amazing! Paired with a sub I’m getting great sound out of a sub $1000 system. I have the Paradigm Studio 100 v2’s in the family room. This American loves his Canadian made speakers even if the RC-10s were actually manufactured in China.
Awesome! Energy Is great! I had paradigm mini monitors at one point that were excellent too as far as bang for the buck!
Thanks for your comment!
Es impresionante...creo que voy a llorar😢
они изумительно дружат с jlh 1969
You need to edit the video title. The speakers are "100 7g". Not 100g.
Thanks!
Hello and good talk. Bought a pair of 100 7g, not the green ones but a pair of white ones. same spc as your specail ed and am super satisfied. Drive them with Roksan Caspian m2 amplifier and it sounds good. Fast speakers that provide a satisfying sound.
Yes! Thanks for your comment! They are excellent all-rounders!
Agreed!
They are still available on Amazon for $200 a pair. An absolute steal for the sound they produce. This would compete with speakers five times that price. I am very much confident with that.
Agreed! Love the real wood veneer and non fatiguing sound signature!
Hey! I currently have a pair of RC10's for sale, have you considered expanding your setup with additional speakers?
@@finnrmr thanks for your comments please see all of the speaker discussions on our channe with many more to come l including the amps and DACs coming soon. Thanks for your comments!
@@revivehificanada where can i find it? Do you have a particular link leading to a website?
谢谢
Very welcome!
Thanks for the review, I am thinking of buying these. What about clarity and detail, do you think they are transparent enough at $349?
Thanks! Details and sparkle are fantastic. I paired mine with a Marantz 2 channel receiver and they sounded wonderful with my vinyl. I used the provided port plugs if they are up against the wall .
@@revivehificanada Thanks, will order soon, enjoy.
Put them 9-12 inches from a wall (not in a cabinet or on a shelf) with no port plug and at ear level for the best listening. The bass is impressive for a speaker of this size. I’ve had them for over a year now, paired with a denon 70 watt receiver in a HT system. 70 watts drives them nicely, and the somewhat mellow denon sound works well to balance out the crisp KEF sound. Big soundstage is perfect for music and HT use.
@@jemsmay2167 okay nice, I am going to to need for a bedroom, they're going to be close to a wall, about 6 inches so I am going to need the plug for them. When I move out of my parents place I will get the Kef Q550.
Energy did something special with the RC line and I'm still sad they were flushed down the toilet by "occupied forces" lol. Very underrated series despite their brief availability in big box stores during the 2000s.
very underrated indeed...i really like them!
I just ordered mine tonight can't wait to use them with my a07 Max and preamp 😅
They are nice. I really liked their sound with vinyl.
How did you like them?
I've had a pair of S26s since new in the mid-nineties powered by a Harman Kardon HK3500 receiver, 50 wpc into an 8 ohm load. The speakers continue to serve me well and just got hooked up for the first time in a couple of years recently in my new apartment. Vinyl sounds marvelous through this setup with a simple Technics direct drive turntable tracking a fine elliptical stylus at 1.25 grams. At their price point the S26 is hard to top, IMHO.
Completely agree. They are nice speakers! What amazes me the most about the studio series is that they keep right up with many of the newest speakers . I will be featuring the S38 coming this year as those are one of my all time favorite along with the s26.
