Great video. Im just starting a Lep.
Hi Don, thanks. You mean a Leprechaun? If yes, I have been wanting to one of those as well. Hope the build goes well. I´m building a DAG R2 autogyro now, similar open structure. I love the look of models built that way. Cheers Hugh
Ah wow thanks! That was the first feedback I got on the speed controller. Just need to find out how to change modes! Thanks for the tip, appreciate it👍
Hey In your Graupner race rat video the ESC is set to helicopter mode that's why it's spinning up so slowly
Superb model!Fine construction!Hi from France !
WOW!! MAHALOS!🌴
Veldig fin forklaring og flott modell. Har du bilder av hvordan vingene er skjøtet sammen?
Very nice! Thank you!
Good job!
Thank you very much. Yes several years old now but no regrets doing it this way.
Excellent job! Is this possible with the original plans?
Hi, cool Sinbad - how many mm from wingnose you place center of gravity and how much weight you need to put in the nose ? Thankxs for info
Hi, thanks for the feedback, it's a great design. I don't remember the exact C of G but I set it up as per the plan and it flew just fine. During the build I focused on getting all the RC as far forwards as possible and keeping the tail light. This meant I didn't need to add any lead to get a good balance.
@@lowpass36 thank you for Info
Nydelig modell. Hvor flyr du?
Hei tusen takk. Jeg flyr ut i Nord-Jæren
@@lowpass36 Takk. Tippet det fra landskapet. Stuck på Romerike.. Hele tiden på jakt etter hang..
Amazing
Beautiful ambiance
such an elegant solution. Great job! Are you still flying this plane ?
Hi, thank you very much. Yes still flying but not that much this year. Hope to have a go tomorrow, might be another video if I get some good footage. 5-6 knots forecast.
Makes want to take mine back to the beach! Great video, really enjoyed that.
Perfect soluction
It looks like it's controlled only by the tail. Interesting.
Fantastically clever. Thanks for sharing.
Looks simple but nice 👍
Like the pilot detail! And just amazing landscape
Takk Em ;-)
Is this a standard build or did you add some mods?
Hi Mic, I did a few mods. Made it with a removable tail. This saves a lot of space when storing it. Other than that I put some very small diagonals down the fuse. It twisted a lot when first built. I knew the covering would stop almost all the twisting but I wanted to be sure. Like I say very small diagonals because this adds weight where it is very easily felt and needs to be balanced with more lead in the nose. If you look very carefully at the film you will see vertical grain on the keel as well under the cockpit and half way aft. This was to try and prevent the grain of the keel cracking if there was a heavy landing. Repairing a model that has clear film on it will just make a mess of the model, so I have tried to build in a bit more strength at the same time trying not to increase the weight.Has worked well so far. Lovely model to fly, I can recommend it if you are considering it. Cheers, Hugh
That is slick?
But why? Is this just for ease of repair or something ?
Well it is quite a wide tailplane so I did this for the ease of storage through the winter. For the summer I leave it rigged. Less prone to damage if you have a rougher than planned landing as well but luckily that has not happened yet.
What a very good job you did ! Thank you
Thank you for the kind feedback
Fantastic, where can I get this 93 sinbad plans? Thanks
Hi, there is one on eBay right now. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Berkeleys-93-Super-Sinbad-Glider-R-C-Laser-Cut-Short-Kit/133237846820?hash=item1f05983324:g:GcAAAOSwQwFcCt0J good luck
@lowpass36 How do you build the remaining chassis ?
Hi, I have another video showing the build of the plane. Hope you enjoy. thank you
Hi, where can I get planes or a kit for this sinbad glider, thanks
Hi, I found mine on eBay, there was a guy in the USA who had made a few kits and was selling them off. it was only a partial kit but the quality was good. Good luck if you decide to make one, its a great model.
Look here: outerzone.co.uk/index.asp or here: aerofred.com
How did you do the grey covering on the nose? Was there a template for that design? Is it Monokote? Sorry for all the questions.
Hi, getting the nose covered was tricky. I used solarfilm and cut it as small as possible with several pieces. Lots of heat and worked it down, it was not done in 5 minuets. I had no pattern for the covering i just cut it to hide the RC in the nose. Good luck.
lowpass36 Ok, I sure like the way it looks. I’m going to try to do the same on mine. Thank you for the info. 😃👍
But where does Norway come into the picture ? From a curious Norwegian woodworker.
Hi, it comes into the whole picture, its filmed in Norway! :-)
Great job
Thank you :-)
Very nice and iteresting, can you explain more or let me know where to get the full length hinge? , thanks
To hinge the tail plane i use standard model hinges. I aligned and installed the elevator to the tailplane to confirm full and free movement. Once confirmed i removed the metal hinge pins from each hinge. Those were replaced with one long carbon pin 1mm . The carbon pin is about the same length as the span of the tailplane. It is just friction keeping it in place and with many hours of flying with the model it has proved to work well. I got the carbon rod on ebay.
lowpass36 many thanks. I appreciated your help, greeting and many flights
would you mind show the wingtip structures, because I ,m less of experience short kit build!
Hi, send me a mail to lekolber@online.no and i can send you some pictures. Thanks Hugh
@@lowpass36 Thankyou!
I wonder how many times I’d put it back together with the horizontal stab first? I’d bound to be determined to throw the model on the ground and stomp on it!! Really pretty model though. Love your flight videos!!! Tony
bonjour excellent ce système de montage pourrai tu de faire un dessin détaillé de ce système de charnières merci patrick
Any chance of posting some pics of the removable tail?
Hi, I posted a short vid on the tail if you want to have a look. Thanks Hugh
I can't wait to get started on mine. I was inspired by the same John Woodfield video you saw on UA-cam. I also bought the 93" short kit and I have an original Sig 62" Super Sinbad free flight glider I'm converting to RC. such a cool looking glider. I'll have to do the removable tail like you did. Wish I could see the way you did yours better. You did a GREAT job!!!
Hi, thanks for the kind words, did you start you model yet?
Bueno!
Very peaceful to watch.
Great video! You gave me some ideas! Hooray, no mind altering music!
Thank you, yes its a great design. Hugh
Parabéns, belo sailplane.
