Well I never thought I’d have to correct an American pronunciation!😂”Kentucky” has its accent on the second syllable. We say “kunTUCKee” in the US. You may hear it jokingly referred to as “kaneTUCK”, but that’s just in fun. PLEASE keep working on the French; I know the language is difficult, but if the people deserve remembrance, they deserve to have their names pronounced correctly. As to the “undisclosed” criticism, would the phrase “in dispute” work any better? I know that sometimes the cause of death isn’t given and “undisclosed” is the only possible answer. However, if you find conflicting information maybe that could be labeled as such. My theory about your channel causing people to research for themselves is proving correct, or “baileydog4891” wouldn’t have looked up six people. Keep searching for a better site for accurate French pronunciations; and don’t give up your fabulous website!😊❤

Another video is on the way actually I try but my tongue has to manage my native language and other 2 languages along with english and our accebt is a bit hard and R is pushed to max levels in my most speaking language sometimes I know how to say an English word but the tongue refuses to do so or sit on the eight spot 😅 I always try warm up sessions and do rehearsals before starting up because the first people are sometimes most important to US audiance but its a journey and will keep improving with time. As far as the data is concerned I try my best to find reasons of death as its one of the most important part and the concept of these videos is to recall the people and what they did so that if anyone is interested in their work they may dig deep themselves to read their story of life.

Dear I've made more than 300 videos and learned a lot on my way. I look for a legit source just any source is not enough there is a way to go after the reasons. Valid source for me is wikipedia, encyclopedias like Britannica, some globally recognized news papers of the time and for actors imdb. If there is a difference of opinion between legit sources I wont mention because I'm not supposed to mislead or misinformation intentionally. Sources like quora, social media or any other small anonymous websites owned by individuals is not included.

Grammar Nazi reporting: In America we have an expression, “Pardon my French”. We use it if we want to be excused for cursing, swearing or using profanity. In your case, we literally need to pardon your French. Jean-Jacques Meyer has a French first name and a German last name. You pronounced the last name correctly but not the first. It’s not “Gene-Jack” but “Zhawn-Zhock” I’ve heard you pronounce both “Jean” and “Jacques” correctly before, so I know you can. Also, try to remember that a “t” at the end of a French name is not sounded. The letters “et” and “er” have an “ay” sound as in “day” or “way”. Finally, the letter “n” at the end of a word or name in French is sounded with the back of the tongue against the soft palate toward the throat. After all that, let me thank you for another great video and say as an American, I really appreciate the obituaries for Cornelius Vanderbilt, Brigham Young and Crazy Horse. They are three people very important in American history. Let me know if you have any questions about the “torture”, I mean lesson above. If it’s any comfort to you, I struggled with French in college. 😂❤

Another great video!!! Your French pronunciations continue to improve. Remember “Henri” is pronounced “awn REE”, even though it is the equivalent of “Henry” in English. I took some personal interest in John Scott Harrison because I knew one of his descendants when I was a little girl back in the 1950’s. He took great pride in his ancestry and was always bragging about it as an eight year old. He was Benjamin Harrison’s great-grandson. I always wondered who the connecting ancestor was between William Henry and Benjamin. I’ll bet your research generates a lot research on the part of your viewers. Now that’s good teaching, my friend.😊❤

I’ll admit that the “Pedia” part of your website name was click bait for me, and I’m so glad I “bit” and was “hooked”. The French name I’m going to nag you about now is “Jacques”. The best written phonetic I can give you is “zhock”; pretend the word “shock” starts with a “z”. The English equivalent is James. It’s a common French name and might come up again. Jacques name google is confusing me on this because I do remember from my french classes I guess it was back in 2009 I had a course of French language but unfortunately there was no one to practice with. I do remember this name it was pronounced way different then google legendary pronouncing app but strangely google knew its french because I watched it detecting the name and then tried to mispronounce it and I was left confused 😅😅 I personally think French is a sweet language and I took it as a subject back in 2009 because I was young and thought its a romantic language and I must learn how to communicate.... Being young I wondered what if Im in Paris with someone special 🤭 and I dont know French language that will be a problem. 😅😅 Being young and crazy enough to make silly decisions based on our imaginary patterns of thinking which has noting to do with the so called practical standards set by the robotic world is kind of fun. I always miss those teenage days. 🥱GOOD OLD DAYS...... 🫠🫠❤️😊

One of the joys of being a teacher is that you learn so much from your students. I never realized that Edwin and John(Wilkes) had a brother. The Booth’s and the Barrymore’s were the prominent names in American theatre of the 19th century. Your pronunciation of French names is improving; just remember NOT to put the accent on the first syllable(most of the time). The name “Henri” is pronounced “awnREE”. You’re pronouncing as the English equivalent, Henry. You managed to master “Jean” as “zhawn”; so I know you can say “Henri” correctly. STAY MOTIVATED AND HEALTHY; YOUR FAN BASE NEEDS YOU!!!😊❤

Change it to what? Could you be more specific? Be forewarned, however, specificity could result in a huge debate fueled by subjective tastes. If the background music is becoming too monotonous, maybe varying the selections for the individual videos is a possibility. He works so hard on these videos and I’m always nagging him about his pronunciation(s), that I hate to criticize something in the category of “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” He always answers his commenters questions, however, so you’ll probably get a reply to your question.

You’re becoming so skilled at your work that I’m left with only minor criticisms. There are three nouns that are polysyllabic(several syllables). They are: “contributor”, “theologian” and “Albany”. 1. contributor = con TRIB u tor. 2. theologian = thee o LO gin 3. Albany = ALL bun nee I can’t sign off without another “grandfather” story. My paternal grandfather was much older than my other grandparents; he was born in December of 1859. That meant that his father(great grandfather)was in the age range of some of today’s 1884 obituaries. That great grandfather was named Henry Clay Craft. As soon as I saw Henry Clay Work,my thought was that he too was named after the statesman, Henry Clay. My great grandfather was and the name “Clay” has traveled through five generations in my family. Henry Clay was a friend of my. great great grandparents and I’m assuming the Work family too. Mr. Work died much sooner than my great grandfather; he made it into the 20th century. There’s a little more to this story, but I’ll save that part until you get to Abraham Lincoln. Another reason I know your site is a big success is that I other(more limited) sites trying to duplicate, even imitate your format with their illustrations. I sometimes have to look 👀 twice to make sure that it’s yours. They say that, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.” To me it always seems to be the laziest form of theft. You’re receiving some very positive feedback. You deserve to be congratulated. Maybe it won’t seem so bad if I “pick” at you a little. Remember NOT to pronounce “vice-president” as “wice-president”. That’s likely to come up often; so that’s why I mention it. Also, check the Canadian names for French spellings. The French-Canadians are as proud as the French of France and can get extremely upset about mispronounced words. A related story: I believe I told you once before that my oldest son is a commercial airline pilot. When he first began with an airline that flew into Mexico and Canada as well as the US, he noticed that in Mexico that the air traffic controllers would always switch over from Spanish to English to bring the pilots in safely. However, the French-Canadians would switch from English to French when he was flying into Quebec. Pilots were always upset that they seemed to place more importance on their language than the lives aboard the aircraft. This illustrates why I say they can become extremely upset about mispronounced words. DON’T STOP PLEASING YOUR LOYAL FAN BASE!!! 😊❤

Will focus on fixing the Vice President in the coming videos 😊 I was always a big fan of the British automotive show Top Gear by bbc and they always used sarcasm of French and English issues and even the history has some hints that reflects the differences. I totally understand but personally I think that kindness and empathy is always there in most people and a smart brain can understand just like that this person is new to the language and he might make some errors all they need to do is to be kind and even if they criticize the constructive element must be there. So far I've not encountered anyone rude, yes I'm trying but the main focus is on English as I'm still a learner and if I divert my attention towards French I'm afraid I'll lose the grip of English that I've developed so far. Yes I always try to pronounce the French and Spanish names as close to the original accent hopefully I'll improve with time 😅 Btw the story of your son and experience with Mexico and Canadian air traffic control was an interesting one, according to my knowledge French is the 2nd official language of Canada and I have some loyal viewers from that beautiful country, I hope I wont disappoint them. KEEP COMMENTING I ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD FOR GRAMMAR NAZI REVIEWS AND INSTRUCTIONS ❤️😊

He probably does. In a reply soon after beginning the 1800’s,he said he was studying the 18th century to prepare for videos covering the 1700’s. Since both Thomas Jefferson and John Adam’s died on July 4th, 1826, their obituaries will probably show up on a future 1826 video.

Yes videos are coming in which all the presidents will be covered in the beginning I had different intentions but now I love to make these videos and love it to hear from my valued viewers and their suggestions and opinions and also love to interact with them. The plans are I'll go back to the landing of Christopher Columbus and of there is any further data available then ill go for that as well. When I reach George Washington to 1799 I'll make a specific video only for the obituaries of US presidents and later vice presidents and other key position holdings. So stay connected.

Grant was a good soldier (as the armies were forming in 1861, Mexican War vet Richard Ewell was asked by his hometown paper who, of all the officers he had known in Mexico, he wouldn't want to face in battle; Ewell didn't hesitate; one kid lieutenant from the 4th Infantry, had an incredible understanding of firepower, name of Grant) until he took Vicksburg; then he got sloppy. Historians are taking a fresh look at McClellan, noting he was far better than Lincoln's foil and did the smart thing at Antietam, given his orders and the situation he faced in the aftermath of Second Bull Run. Thomas Durant is best known to history as one of the key grafters in the Credit Mobilier Scandal. Gordon's most famous nickname was "Chinese" Gordon, after his service in the Tai-Ping Rebellion. Edwin von Manteuffel was the great uncle of WWII general Hasso von Manteuffel.
