It is based on the splatfest themes, but those are also based on the 3 mental poisons in hindu culture; greed (shiver), anger (frye), and ignorance (big man). The 3 mental poisons are also represented as animals; the bird, the snake, and the boar, and the names of their solos are referencing the animals from the 3 mental poisons. just thought that was a cool fact and have a nice day :)

Frye and shiver making fun of the squid sisters makes me like deep cut less. Way less.

if i HAD TO GUESS, this is probably placeholder data since you might have somehow matched with the other regional splatfest? in 1 i remember this would happen and the splatfest tees would just revert to the default design, but i guess here since they ALSO show the team names and symbols they're dummied out to Charlie and a blank icon.

My guess is that it couldn't download the Splatfest BCAT without using a logged in Nintendo account? Fest BCAT basically contains everything about it, including team names, shirt textures, team icons, and more. Without that, you're left with that placeholder stuff you saw. What y'all said about team alpha/bravo/Charlie is right (hug would be Charlie here) No clue how you got signed out, nor why it let you enter that match without an account. You'll forever be a Charlie Ruler in spirit tho

Also if anybody knows why the tees are grey and why I might’ve gotten logged out please let me now I’m still confused on that, thanks! BRO THIS HAPPENED TO ME!!! My dad was changing my Nintendo password before I matched into a game. When I joined it still had my splatfest title, but the tees were grey and when the match ended the map turned of splatfest and asked me to login again

I think that was a real match (sometimes the game matches you against your own team if there aren't enough people playing on either of the other two). Looks like it somehow didn't load the teams correctly though, and put everyone on the default "team charlie" instead of team hug (the tees are grey with the deep cut logo by default, but the texture is usually replaced with a unique one for your team)

If I remember correctly the names (Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie) are based on the ICAO phonetic alphabet. The alphabet goes as the following: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, India, Juliett, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec, Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Victor, Whiskey, X-ray, Yankee, and Zulu. Do with that info what you will. Big Man's 'color' is in the code as the Charlie color as it is the third team. Hope that makes sense. Edit: Forgot to mention this must've been a glitch and it likely occurred due to you playing the fest as a new player.

They better make Alpha vs Bravo vs Charlie an actual splatfest. Also typing them out makes me realize they’re in alphabetical order, so a 4th idol would probably be Dennis
