Amazing Electric Powered Boat on a Budget
good work with only one shit of plywood :)
Hey there, can I aske what the blue pool noodle/foam in top left corner is used for on 1:45 please?
Probably to used as a buffer between the box & boat to protect it from damage/holes, and prevent it from moving around. ... And as a back up life preserver haha.
Very cool floor. Quick Question. I see a lot of people that build a floor for the mariner 4 put it on top of the slated floor that came with it. It looks like you didn't. Can I ask why you went that route? Thank you
I think with the 15mm plywood floor ita more than enough. Otherwise you are going to add unnecessary weight, and also, since the original pvc floor isn't hard enough it make no sense for me.
You can further decrease the weight of the floor by cutting holes in it.
That water! So clean! And a beach where no one can bother you! Have you considered camping there?
How did that water get in the boat?
very nice floor, what is the thickness of the plywood? and do you use foam pipe insulation around the plywood?
15mm
@@patagonianwoods4650 You stated 12mm in this video and 15mm was to heavy :-))
The boat looks great! Good job!
Two things, 1, Does the wood not scare you that it would puncture? Did you do anything to the edges to make it not sharp? 2. What is the point of the blow up section that goes straight down the middle?
It helps to steer the boat
If you sand it well enough on the you are not going to experiment any puncture.
Hey, looks great now the plywood is finished. Do you still rest the plywood floor on the inflatable keel and how does it compare to the supplied intex slatted floor please?
I don't suspect the original floor is also underneath that ? I've seen a few people have both the original planked floor plus their sheet of plywood but always thought that was a waste of weight and not needed.
Floor looks great! Looking forward to the next update.
Looks like you have the mariner 4? I have the excursion 5. How fast does this go at full speed? And how long does the battery last?

What did you use to keep the wood from getting soft or rotting when it gets wet?
I apply more than 10 coats of marine varnish.
Really great idea putting the strips on the floor to keep the cooler from sliding fore and aft.
Yes. It works very well.
I concur
Did you use the supplied slatted floor as a template and is the slatted foor under your plywood sheet?
