How do the oris Aquis and the Seiko spb185 compare to one another?
@@mikescott6097 The Oris is more premium. Better movement, bracelet, and dial finish.
I have that Seiko SPB185 and very very happy about it. It's my daily beater and gives me more serotonin than my other fancier watches.

@@Frank-qs3pe I get it, you like the steel bezel. Longines did a collab with hodinkee for the spirit gmt which looks like an homage to the black Bay pro. But hey if you pick up any new gmt let me know what you get and how you like it.

Both watches made in China, seiko charge $800 for a $300 watch, I would be happy with the cheap one they both tell the time and look good.

Too poor?!? I’m on the side of being too smart to buy in on something that costs 10x more but only brings in MAYBE twice the satisfaction. I had a (clueless) guy who was wearing a Daytona he waited 2 yrs to get, compliment me on my GS - thinking it was a Rolex. Don’t be that guy. Anyone who wears a squale actually knows something.

Ahh I see you like the finer watches . This one is beautiful and the mechanics are incredible, the attention to detail is impressive. I work on Mechanical Watches mostly older pocket watches. I like the challenge of fixing them using as many original parts as possible and then selling them on. Nice watch I'm a very happy new sub 😊

Water resistance is 150 meters. Overall, the Monta does not disappoint. Thanks for watching!

I really want to like this watch, but a couple of design choices put me off. The line of polish on the inner edges of the lugs looks out of place and unrefined. And the lack of a colour matched date wheel is such a missed opportunity. It's a good effort, but I'll wait for the next version of the design (if there will be one).
Valid points. I would argue Omega does similar polish on their lugs so to me, I think it's an added detail that benefits the overall aesthetic. The white date wheel isn't a problem for me as it helps the legibility for my old eyes. My main gripe is I think the lugs should taper in more to make it less squared off looking. That said, it makes a great daily. The lume is really impressive as is the bracelet and clasp. Thanks for watching.

The way the pointy end of the Monta clasp has very visibly marked the brushed finish on the bracelet is triggering me.
Yeah it's a little gripe. My Tudor Black Bay does the same though. Only think to do is kick back with a white Russian and listen to some Creedence.
Glad that Monta has refined the clasp and gotten rid of the pointy section.

It's beautiful in person. Very attractive.
Monta case and lugs look more like Rolex and Tudor. The bracelet is amazing and it’s tight! I’m not a huge GS fan but that one is very nice looking.
I disagree with that. Rolex and Tudor thin the lugs towards the bracelet so it's not so squared off. The case profile is also different on both. Tudor is more slab sided and thicker and Rolex have a distinct curve down towards the wrist. The Monta case is completely different. Thanks for watching.
