In this podcast, I reflect on my experiences visiting Torres del Paine National Park in Chile over the past 21 years. I describe the park as a 'fickle, changeable beast' because of its dramatic and unpredictable weather, which can make capturing the landscape's full beauty a challenge. Despite this, I've developed a deep connection with the park, likening it to an 'old friend' I've grown up wit...

I discuss the importance of embracing a positive and intuitive approach to creative photography. I emphasise the value of saying ‘yes’ to opportunities, allowing the creative process to unfold naturally, and trusting my instincts rather than over-planning. I share my personal experiences and insights, highlighting the significance of being present in the moment, feeling my way through a shoot, ...

We all start in someone else's footsteps, but at some point, we must begin to look for our own voice in the landscape. In this podcast, I discuss the process of finding one's unique artistic voice in landscape photography. I begin by acknowledging that most photographers start by emulating the work of others they admire. However, I wish to emphasise that true artistic growth comes from moving b...

Love this video, and your amazing work. Great lessons indeed! As a working photographer shooting mostly families, portraits and occasional events, my work can be fulfilling, and certainly rewarding to be paid for your efforts. But the genre you are so skillfully demonstrating speaks to the soul and is fulfilling on an entirely different level. Thanks for sharing.

I'm so glad to have found your channel lately. I'm only four years into photography, and I sometimes moan about the local area that I've lived in for 25 years. Your video helped me see my progress with my local area. Right now it's what we call stick season which can make the mountains kind of blah. Thanks for helping me realize that I'm being taught; that this is a step in my journey. Cheers!

Really well done, Bruce. It was very instructive to see the evolution of your work, or more precisely, of your vision and perception. I can't help but wonder if the chronology were reversed (You went to Hokkaido before going to Bolivia), what would that have done to your imagery? It's also instructive to see how you could never have created these images without having captured the shots in a way that gave you the material to masterfully post-process into the final images that we are fortunate to view. Please keep producing these "shorts" for us. To hear how an artist conceptualizes their work is invaluable.

Beautiful video and music and stunning photography! Love the meditative atmosphere of both the images and the music. Thank you so much for sharing and it's been very inspiring! Appreciate seeing your minimalist style, as today I started to feel really influenced by social media photography and doubting my own taste. Seeing your beautiful and distinct photography made me think I should just continue the way I am.
