Thank you so much. Your video is fullof great advice.🫡
Connect your personal growth and experiences and desires to go to that schools grad program with the bigger picture, not just with your own ambitions. Saying (for an MBA), "I want to revolutionize the world of e-commerce due to shifts in artificial intelligence and adapting cultural changes in business psychology" is a lot better than saying, "I want to learn how to be better at learning business in e-commerce and your schools program would really help me transform my career to make that into a reality".
some of the best advice I have seen, thank you x
What can college students actually right inside
After graduate, I lost my mind, I insecure to start something new and I spend most of my times at home. I don’t know what I really want and finds many excuses to not even send the cv to everywhere.😢
Thank you for sharing!

Read the *Two Cultures* essay by C P Snow?
If you want to be a doctor, lawyer, engineer, healthcare provider, computer programmer/IT/data scientist, then go to college. Go to trade school for obvious reasons if you want to pursue those careers. If you don't know yet or don't want to be any of the above, then don't go to college, or at least wait until you figure it out. While you're waiting, maybe work full or part-time at McDonalds, Best Buy, Amazon, etc. Or join the military. Or pretty much any of the suggestions she mentioned towards the end of her video.
I think that the humanities (and the arts, which I tend to think of separately) are essential in the 21st century. However, I think that it is necessary to end the siloing of subjects, a là C. P. Snow. Everyone needs history, philosophy, English, etc., even if only a few people will actually major in the subject. To use my own field of maths as an example, The percentage of people taking higher level maths courses in college who end up majoring in the subject is actually quite small. Most of the students are physics, biology, engineering and economics students. Society would benefit if there were more art history and romance language majors who knew a bit about modern maths. At the same time, it is a good idea for Computer science and statisticians to know about how real languages work. To give one example, it is almost axiomatic that a 'message' consisting of random numbers has the highest possible information content. This made sense in the context of Signal processing at AT&T, but it is entirely wrong in the context of a real language, where a random sequence has zero information content. Another example is the way people think that ChatGPT can write poetry because it can construct a Haiku. It would be very useful for an actual poet to explain the difference between poetry and doggerel in terms that a computer scientist can understand. If higher education is not to become just another layer of 'training'. we need to re-integrate the curriculum. Every department has something to offer to every student, even if only a few students will make a career out of the field. It may be romantic of me, but I think that at one time, college was primarily an intellectual adventure, not at trade school. This is what I think it should be. Right now, there are many practical obstacles -- exorbitant tuition, pervading sexism and racism, and (financial) elitism -- that need to be tackled. There is also the tendency in business to require a college degree for a position that does not need one, forcing a lot of people who really are not interested to pursue a degree (and accumulate debt) when in reality, they can do just fine in the job (and have an excellent prospect of advancement) without a BA or BS. my 2¢.
Maths major, and it was great. Easiest major -- no books to read, no papers to write, just pass the tests every week *and* remember everything from every maths course I ever took. HOWEVER, chemistry courses got me a job, and my philosophy courses were essential to make sense of it all. I also got a MA in music composition.
My undergrad Thesis is not focused on the field of Communication Engineering but I have ten years of experience in Communication Engineering as a Radio Frequency Engineer. I want to do MSc in Communication Engineering under Electrical Engineering, do I avoid mentioning my undergrad Thesis in my Personal statement and dwell more on my professional experience? Please reply
Thank you so much!!! This is super helpful
Would you say that the Personal Statement and Statement of purpose asks for the same information essentially?
The link in your description isn't working- can you provide an updated one? Thank you!
Phenomenal insights! Much appreciated 👍
It was years ago and I didn't know any better, but I did the opposite of Tip #2. Could find a job at all for over a year, so went off to grad school for a PhD. Realized I didn't want to be a professor after all. Too much admin, management, begging for budget, very little actual science! But it open doors later, research, cutting edge science, world class product development, working in 3D graphics and computer science. Nothing directly related to my major, of course!
1) adjusting mindset 2) do not go the grad school
If you don't go to grad school then some shmuck from India will and they'll take your retail job in the meantime. Love from Canada.
i love this advice. I thank you so much
Why do we have to pay for your "advice" by watching UA-cam ads???
🤑
You're the only person on here with a practical solution to this
The only way I would ever get a Master's is if my employer funded it.
Thank you, Stacy.
Nice video. I hope you can make an updated video like this.
5 jobs after one and a half years, I'd be lucky if I got one in that timeframe.
I'm in this spot right now, but the problem is I have no relevant experience. I favored graduating on time and committing to schoolwork over internships or jobs. I'm 30 now. I worked in the Air Force for 4 years and then was a Armored Truck driver after that. I ended up quitting the second position because I developed extremely bad psoriasis from the stress and there was a company merger that sent things to shit. So I go to school on my benefits. Get a BBA in MIS. Magna Cum Laude. Now, MONTH's after graduating, I can't find a job. I'm even wiling to move to a neighboring state. I'd work for fucking nothing pretty much, relatively speaking. You'd figure It would be easy to get a job being a vet with an honorable discharge, no criminal record, and a decent bachelor's degree. The best advice I'd give anyone young now is to go to trade school instead of college.
i don't know if that degree is decent. In my opinion, it's not much different than a degree in history. As you mentioned, trade school is likely better than a bachelors degree in business.
@@jicalzad My brother is a welder. He makes 20k more than I do, with no degree, so seeing that retroactivley gives me some regrets with school. I guess I saw too many successful people with the degree I chose, but failed to realize they had exceptional opportunities. Business degrees aren't worth shit anymore, but I wasn't a smart person to start with. I knew my limits and thats why I didn't go into engineering or something, but i knew better than to go to school for my own amusements. There's no place for the average joe.
@@danc5644 on a side note, my wife's uncle started his own contracting business sometime in his late 20s or early 30s with very little hands-on trades experience. I think he only did painting jobs but somehow was able to recruit/hire 2 guys who had more experience who handled majority of the small residential/landscaping projects while he just handled the business side of things. He eventually hired my father-in-law and another cousin in the family because they also had trades experience. His wife also helped with the accounting, and i believe she also worked for a title company. I think it took him around 10-12 years or so to build up his team and make a name for himself in his town. By the time he was in his early 40s, his residential construction business expanded to a few small commercial gigs as well. It was around his mid-to-late 40s where his business took off and was generating several 6-figure projects and maybe 1 or 2 million-dollar projects. BEcause of this, he was able to put his 2 sons through medical school, out-of-pocket. He's around 51 or 52 today. He still only holds a high school degree. I believe his wife eventually got a business-related college degree a few years ago. Before all of this he was just working as a cashier at the local Albertsons grocery store.
Humanities by its nature are all encompassing. One of the major theme of humanities is to mold an independent thinker. As such they are supposed to be capable to face any challenge as you doing.
Very relaxing speaking style and helpful info. Thank you
This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my UA-cam channel 9 months ago about self development. Now I have 1,594 subs and > 1,000 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.
Thank you for this 🙏🙏🙏
I want to take a semester off of school to help my family and myself but I’m really worried how I will explain the gap to graduate schools.
That part of turning your interest into a venture is eye opening ❤
I am sending this to all my friends who are struggling right now! Great job, Stacy!

I particularly liked your tips on crafting a compelling summary. It inspired me to infuse my personality into my LinkedIn profile while highlighting my professional strengths. The suggestion to add multimedia elements is brilliant - it'll definitely make my profile more engaging. I'll be applying these techniques right away to make my LinkedIn profile shine.
hey @stacy, i dont think the free tool you linked in the bio is working, can you check it? Thanks
in sweden university is for free and I get paid to go to univ. Rather than stay home and apply to jobs that i get rejected all the time. I get depressed.
Hi! I am lawyer from Venezuela trying to get into an LLM in the USA. I have no one to ask for feedback in regards to my statement of purpose. If I could send it to you, so you could review it, it would mean the world to me.
ive given up on graduate job ages ago, its hard for me to find a regular job.... its even cost me my faith with God. ive been applying for normal jobs 7 months now and nothing :(
The most useful video I saw in while. ❤
Excellent video. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for this input.
It’s been a year since I graduated and because of some family health issues I wasn’t able to take any internships during college. I was thinking about going back to grad school cause it wouldn’t be too expensive to try for other internships but I’m not sure what to do now tbh. I’m just tryna break into the industry.
Thank God I'm not alone
Most jobs online is already filled
I just graduated and I keep applying like a madman but so far I haven’t received any reply and I’m worried that it’s going to stay that way. I’m working part time right now in retail and I rent a house with my bf who graduated last year and got a job quickly in his field. I’m so worried that I won’t succeed and that I’ll have to find a full time minimum wage job just to pay my bills
