You're correct, it is an LDV. In fact in Australia they're branded as LDV rather than Maxus. I'm almost surprised it's not the same in the UK of all places... Although I'm not sure where the Maxus name is from so maybe it makes some sense I'm not informed on. Sorry to hear about your aunt and all... That's very sad, obviously. Condolences... You mentioned a two stroke oil tank, the correct oil is a good 20/40 motor oil_two stroke will wreck the plain big end.

It is Not a 7 horse power engine.

There will be arguments for both sides but ultimately it's the choice of the owner. It's a beautifully done conversion and I wonder why the owner went to so much bother to run the exhaust so neatly across to the other side. I have been toying with the idea of putting a Perkins engine in my Allis WC, it would make it a lot more reliable and therefore more likely to be taken out of the shed!

For originality petrol/paraffin, for more power, lower maintenance and better running costs the Perkins diesel.

It's not. It's correct. Non pas car, also ambla box pleat, in Bronze here, correct for a pre 74 season S.

Looks like a very late 'High Compression' S before the October 73 revisions. Lower Compression ratio, and fitment of Hif6 type carbs as per the 2200 models, introduced at the same time along with trim changes as per 2.2 Couple of things as per originality. Non PAS car, so steering wheel IS correct. Some rubbish in the comments here. Also, Ambla Box pleat trim, is completely correct, in Bronze here, Ebony and Buckskin were also offered with Monza Red bodywork, Leather remaining an option. So, all seems authentic, I'd ignore some of the expert advice on here regards trim, steering wheel etc, entirely correct. Lovely Car, had a few, all the best.

Apparently there are currently 6 1992 models still on the road in the UK and 9 1991’s. I suspect mine is not counted because it was exported to France about 10 years ago and reregistered over here.

I’m in the process of getting my mums old automatic back up to scratch. Pretty much identical to this one,it’s a 1991 XL, but mine has a Weber carburetor with an automatic choke which is an absolute nightmare to set up, with it’s stupid automatic choke AAAARHHH! 🤬. But I love it for the same sentimental recasons as you do. Poppy is currently at 54,000 miles. I’m looking forward to receiving my manual choke conversion kit from the UK (I live in France). Subscribed ! And 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 to Brexit 😂

G'day mate I have one similar to this and I've just restored the deck on it. But I'm trying to figure out how to get the deck to lift with the lift lever. I can get the back of the deck to lift but I'm not sure how to lift the front of the deck up any thoughts??

I bought one of these from a colleague (a 1974 if I recall) in 1986. It needed a full exhaust system ...I found a virtually new system from a local breakers yard. I did various service work including a carb strip down and clean. It proved a little too thirsty and decided to sell. I cleaned it up ....I mean cleaned up ....door shuts ...total engine bay....wheel arches....boot stripped out and rubber linings tyre wall blacked. The full interior and carpets shampooed after stripping out the seats. Advertised for sale and not a single response ! Eventually, a motor trader I knew with a showroom offered to sell for me. I took it to him , placed in the showroom where he threw a sheepskin on the seat along with the Haynes manual and left the doors and bonnet open. It sold within 48 hours when a bus driver traded his Mini for it !!!

So fährt kein normaler Mensch LT.... Das Problem iat das Getriebe. Das Einheitsgetriebe. Dem 68/72 PS Motor muaat du dermaßen ins Maul treten wenn du was zu schleppen hast, das ist unglaublich. Die Charakteristik ist aber auch so ausgelegt. 140 NM und Leistung bei 4500 sind Benzinerwerte.... Der will achon gedroschen werden. Nicht ganz zu Ende gedacht, da ja nur 2 dran gehängt, aber sehr sehr sympathisch ❤️
