    can we check mark things without opening the card every time ? It feels like a pain to open those card when for me i put a screen as a cover with a little sub text but i still need to open up every card to mark it as "done" when i could just put a little sticker into the cover and not open up the card at all

    • @KellyLGabel
      @KellyLGabel 10 днів тому

      I totally get what you mean! Unfortunately, adding a sticker can't trigger an automation (yet), but if you have a due date on the card, you can mark that complete without opening the card. If you use that as your trigger (the card being marked complete), then the card can move to the Done list, and you can even have it auto-add the sticker (if you are using the same sticker every time)

    This is why per hour jobs are a problem. Pay me for my work not for how long it took me. I can finish my job in 2 hours if i actually tried but then id be tired and out of a paycheck. The only logical thing to do is stretch it out to the full 8 hour shift. Imagine how fast road construction would be done if the employees got paid per job instead of per hour. Only jobs that depend on customer presence should be per hour. For example most food industries, or retail since you cant really service all your customers for the day in a few hours.

    • @KellyLGabel
      @KellyLGabel 25 днів тому

      You make a great point! Flat fee pay for many jobs makes a lot of sense. It certainly incentivizes speed. There could be a potential for shoddy work as the person speeds through in order to raise their hourly rate... but honestly, I tend to think that anyone who would rush and do a bad job in that case probably wouldn't do a better job if they took all day either. Good work ethic is good work ethic in any scenario. What is it that you do for work?

    Back when I was a temp, I was sent to an office to do a job that was estimated to take 2 weeks. When I got there, they showed me a very tall stack of paper. My heart sank when the client pointed out the ONE NUMBER on each page that had to be entered into the computer. I was done before noon that same day. The client was ecstatic but I lost out on 2 weeks of pay. Oh well, at least I got to keep the parking pass that was good for a whole year. The building was right next to Universal City Walk, an entertainment and restaurant complex, so I saved a TON of money that year enjoying a place I normally wouldn't be able to afford! (The parking fees there are RIDICULOUS.)

    • @KellyLGabel
      @KellyLGabel 25 днів тому

      Yes, that certainly would be a downside of over delivering! It does free you up to take on the next temp job, though! And wow, you got a year parking pass?! That's amazing!!! I hope you used the crap out of it! 😁

    Thank you. I was looking at the pricing as I have been using a free workspace for myself for years now, but while I was actually looking for different information (namely which advanced features you CAN (partially) use for free and how they work), I learned quite some useful things from this video. For instance, I did not know power-ups were a separate cost. I thought that by upgrading my workspace, it would simply gain access to that kind of thing. just like how I thought that the billing would indeed be account-wide. I only have 1 workspace atm so it's not a huge deal yet, but it is definitely good to know that it's all separate. The main thing for me right now is, I need some level of automation because I'm often losing more time on cleaning up and (re)organizing the boards, than that I am actually being productive. I just don't know if I have to upgrade or buy power-ups to do it.

    • @KellyLGabel
      @KellyLGabel Місяць тому

      @DiaborMagics I'm so glad I was able to clear some of those things up for you before you made a purchase! You do NOT need to upgrade to get access to automation. In a Free Workspace, you will have limits on how many automation runs can be performed each month (same in the Standard paid level...only Premium and above have unlimited automation runs), but you have access to all automation that doesn't rely on other premium features (by this I primarily mean Custom Fields. There are Custom Field automation workflows that you won't be able to use since you won't have access to Custom Fields at all in a Free Workspace). I would suggest you check out my playlist that is dedicated to Trello automation. You will find lots of tips and inspiration to get you started, and I do my very best to always make it clear when something can be done in Free Trello :) ua-cam.com/play/PLYrgiFCpdO1Qbi__s_9uJakYUbpBUyd_3.html&si=VsV_2S-ozAHtv7vm

    • @KellyLGabel
      @KellyLGabel Місяць тому

      @marymonk I don't think you can adjust that in the highlight itself. That privacy setting is in the Story itself. If the Story is still within it's LIVE 24 hours, I think you can change the privacy by clicking that green star for options, but if the Story is past the first 24 hours, I'm pretty sure you'd have to share it again to change the privacy setting

    • @KellyLGabel
      @KellyLGabel Місяць тому

      Hey @goalaspect! So, for sorting the pics, you can use the sort feature (drop down on the top right that typically defaults to Name A-Z) when you are looking at the folder itself, but when you are in a design and accessing the folder, there isn't a sorting option. There is a search feature, though, so if you know what the photo is called you can search for it inside the folder. As for selecting all, I don't see that the traditional Ctrl/Cmnd + A works in Canva, but you can manually select multiple before bringing them in to your design if you check the box on the first photo rather than clicking the photo itself (which will simply add it to your design immediately). Checking the box let's you select multiple before adding them to your design. Hope this helps!

    I don't care what a business thinks, I care about the price. If you can have the lowest price you have a sale. Otherwise its about proximity and convenience. A business especially if its large has no morals or beliefs, its not a person. It all a lie. Make your prices low and your goods convenient and you'll make a lot of money like Wallmart.

    • @KellyLGabel
      @KellyLGabel Місяць тому

      @elizabetha7397 That's certainly true! In his book, The Infinite Game, Simon Sinek speaks of large corporations such as Walmart. Their beliefs, or values, are exactly what you say, making shopping convenient with low prices... which you have clearly picked up on. You also share those values, which is why you shop there. In many cases, though, people are willing to pay a little more or even go farther out of their way to shop their values.

      Exactly! No matter how many ads or marketing campaigns I run, the bulk of my clients always comes via word of mouth. Relationships are everything.

    Thanks, Kelly. Just found your channel a day or two ago. I appreciate all your hard work. Great stuff. Freelance writer and editor here. I'm with you on this. While this probably would work for others (there's some good stuff here), this is just too much for me. I'm a big Trello fan (although I also use or have used Asana, Teamwork, Basecamp, Slack, Redbooth and others through clients or former employers). I'm going to stick with Trello as much as possible.

      Thanks so much! Ya, same. I've used many different tools in different circumstances, but for me, Trello is the perfect balance.

      I have been using Creately for more than 2 years now, It is quite cool. It seems kinda user friendly. I also have used Asana, and Slack. Than Asana I think Creately has better diagramming feature, and it helps my team to work collaboratively. I would say just why dont you give a try?

      @@KellyLGabel The full 21 seconds? Yes, three times now. Does it make me want to visit your channel to find a full video of whatever this is? Not really

      @cortneybrown2257 No, I meant the Related video that shows the full tutorial, but if you aren't interested in the tutorial, then there's no need to go watch it 😉

    I've used Canva Pro for video editing 1 hour videos. . You can no longer split videos without the timing going off, if you hide the split parts, it plays them anyway. It repeats clips in different spots. So if your making thumbnails and pretty pictures then there's no issue. If you are a professional content creator it's time to move on.

      That must be frustrating. I edit my videos in Descript, so I haven't been using Canva for that for a while now, but I can see how that would be a deal breaker for you!
