Tbh with the history of bengals just in recent memory with trouble players just really hasn't been the best "look". Yes Burton is very talented very. But you can't teach someone to care. They have to want to care. He's coming from the saban tree and even saban didn't give his full approval for him. So it's one thing to know what you have it's another for him to want to get there.

I don't know what's up with his gf & landlord, but his discipline issues strike me as mostly immaturity & taking things for granted. Think about it. He arrives here & is suddenly playing with Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, & Tee Higgins...& feels like- "Hey, I've made it! I've arrived! I'm in!" & he doesn't realize that the work it takes to get to those guys level has only just begun for him. He gets the huge playbook, he knows he's never gonna learn it all fast enough this year, & he just gives up & reverts to a problem- child attitude as if it's everyone else's fault but his. At this point, if we ever get anything out of him, I will consider it a net positive. Also disappointed that Burrow, Chase & Higgins haven't been able to get through to him, apparently, which I definitely blame on Burton & not on them. I don't remember Burrow, Chase or Higgins needing babysitters when they got to Cincinnati
