DELIVERING AS ONE ON GENDER EQUALITY AND WOMEN EMPOWERMENT (DaOGEWE)
Gender equality is one of the key UN Development Group programming principles which guides the work of the United Nations. Within the UN system, UN Women was established in 2010 to accelerate the achievement of gender equality and women’s empowerment. In Kenya, the UNDAF articulates several results related to gender equality and women’s rights and empowerment. The approach is two‐pronged and is achieved through the following:
Gender mainstreaming in all four UNDAF Strategic Result Areas and in the work of individual agencies
Development of flagship programmes on specific gender‐related issues which require a multi‐agency, multi‐faceted response.

She is such an inspiration to women as myself who envision a society where women will realize our potential in transforming society and actually take up the role of leading change in our community. Being a dweller of Taita Taveta County and having someone like H.E. Majala Mlaghui to look up to is such an inspiration that indeed what the future we hope for can be achieved. I hope to someday be able to navigate the political, economic and social spaces like she has and inspire the region, nation and globe at large in the manner that she does continuously.
