I am a Rush cover drummer, who strives to sound exactly like Neil did on his records. I also play other kinds of music genres, ranging from metal, to jazz.
YYZ | Rush | Drum Cover #1
Starting the new era of drum covers, so I thought I'd start with one of the most iconic rush tunes, YY-Zed. New camera angle, new heads, new drums, new me. There will be lots more to come, including some songs I have never played before (Witch Hunt!!) Stay tuned!

Hey guys! So here is the first video with the finished kit. I am going to start from the beginning of rush and go album by album now, but I wanted to do at least one Grace Under Pressure song (as its the kit that I recreated) and MAYBE do the whole album before anything else. Enjoy guys!
The Enemy Within - Rush - Drum cover (PARTIAL!)

This is a partial video, as I wanted to perfect the beginning of this song. I will be releasing the whole video when I get to grace under pressure, but for now here you go!

Hey guys! I have been wanting to do Jacobs Ladder for a longggg time. And I finally got around to it, getting a not-so-perfect recording of it, but its alright. I kinda did my own thing at a certain part if you can't tell, but yeah. ALSO its my first vid with my new kit!! So show some love if you want to see more videos with the new kit!!!
Tom Sawyer - Rush - Drum Cover

Hey guys! Been wanting to redo this for a while. I just finished completely redoing, and revamping my whole setup to try and recreate Neil's for Moving Pictures, and I thought it was the perfect time to redo it! I added one concert tom (roto tom), another rack tom (13"), another floor tom (14"), and another crash. And I have changed my kick from a 22" with a Remo coated powerstroke, to an 18" w...
The Camera Eye - Rush - Drum Cover

This cover goes out to my dad! He has requested this COUNTLESS times. So I decided to do it since it was fathers day and all that jazz. Hope you guys like it! P.S. Tried some reverb and eq on this one, and the floor tom really kicked my ass when it came down to it. So don't mind my silly mistake! (please)
R30 Overture - Rush - Drum Cover

This video was hard to make, as going through the many different songs, and ever so changing time signatures and fills that happen all throughout each of them made it a very big task. So show this video some love if you wanna see Camera Eye next!

Had to redo this song, so I can actually get the fills right instead of last time. Hope you like it!

This has been a song I have long awaited to learn and record. The solo section REALLY killed me (if its not easy enough to tell from the video)! But nonetheless I chose to upload it no matter what. Hope you guys like it!

Got a new camera setup, so you can really see everything on the kit, and so you can see all my hand movements. I made a couple minor mistakes here and there but it all came out pretty good for learning this in under 3 days!

Excellent job! Keep up the good work!
Thank you Pedro! Will do!
Hi. I see you have other Rush covers. I'm going to check those out. Have you ever checked out a drummer on UA-cam that played every rush song from every album? If not, check him out. He is awesome! He is dead on, every beat. His channel is SterlingPatrickFuentes.
@@mikemccormick1676 Hey mike! I sure have checked him out. He was a huge inspiration for me, as I have used his covers to help learn the parts for certain tricky songs.
@cavansvec Good! Watching can definitely help. Especially with patterns that have cross-sticking or unusual sticking. I'm sure you know this, but break down the tricky parts and fills into measures, then slow down the tempo and work on them until you have it, then speed up in increments until you reach the correct bpm. Don't cheat on technique- bad habits are hard to break!! Best wishes!
Very good ❤
Good job!! You even resemble a young Neil!!! I love the early 80s set-up and color choice for your kit. That was my favorite Neil Peart kit. The Tama Superstars in candy apple red. As a young drummer, I to was a Rush/Neil Peart fanatic- still am to this day. I was lucky enough to see him/them dozens of times. You have the skills. It's all a matter of love and hard work. Keep at it. Hope to see you on stage at some point!
@@mikemccormick1676 Thanks mike for those meaningful words!
Is that a small room you look cramped a little.
@@nathanammon4021 Hey nate, it’s actually a pretty big room, but neil’s set is pretty big, lots of drums and intricate pieces, which makes it have to be as compact as possible.
@@cavansvecok I don’t think you would have to get the same brand of drum as long as the wood depth is the same. Same for snare I’d guess. My set is 6 ply maple pearl it’s pro grade but it’s made more for playing live than for studio. I believe 4 ply wood is more for the studio. The sound engineering has come along way since the 80s although his drums sounded great on every album. Have you done any research on how to set up a room like that to record.
I think I prefer the white head for the snare.
@@nathanammon4021 Hey nathan! I actually use the clear heads for the snare, as I am best trying to recreate Neil’s tone and he used the same heads.
Nice
Hell yeah, man!! Stay after it!
@@stephenpierson1 sure will steve!
That's a beautiful-looking set! And a brave attempt! Best wishes for the next ones.
@@saumickbasu1174 thank you very much!
Neil will be happy with that:))
Good job man, keep it going!!!!
Thank you very much!
The worst mistake you can make is to stop playing.
Great try, no depth of sound though, right about the snare.
@@chrishomer1247 Well sorry I don’t have microphones. Thanks for the comment!
Love you man Keep rockin
thanks dad!!
Fantastic!! Go on !!
Thank you man!
When this album was released it was the go to song for drummers to learn. Took me a few weeks to get it down to satisfactory. I always loved that rimshot/snare beat section, I believe it was the first time I heard Neil do it. Some great fills. Typical great rush orchestration with a big ending. Great job here brother. Really really great.
Thank you very much!
hell yeah
I thot it was a young Neil ..😮
Thank you very much! I aspire to be.
Nice, guy! A suggestion: place your snare drum a little bit higher to avoid all your shoulder displacement to play the rim.
Amazing kit, one of my favorite songs on grace under pressure
thank you! very fun song to play!
dubski
Weak ahh crash symbol
nailed it there dude keep it up
Just saw you for 1st time. Couldn't have picked a better drummer to idol. I use to play but age and arthritis finally caught up with me. I am no critic but you have great great potential. I myself always felt I was average at best which I was always ok with. Doesn't really matter how good someone is, it's the love of the instrument and music and willingness to share what you are feeling that is courageous. Anyone that takes on the challenge of the professor deserves notice and praise. You got it from me and as I see, many others. Keepadrummin !!
your cover is fcking perfect, oh my god, so on point!!
@@calimanisleo2441 Thank you man! Means a lot!!

All I hear is RUSH and you playing it wrong over top and out of tune.
@@frankburdodrums8984 i like how you go to one of my old videos
YA RIGHT!!!
Not an easy song to play. Love how you started with traditional grip ❤. Great job. You should be proud.
Thank you! I play traditional grip for certain types of music, and I just had to do what Neil did.
Best rush song 💯💯
Holy hot take!
I Like Support Drum Covers ! This is a Nice Job ! 🤟🤘🖤🤟🔥
Thank you!!

Also guys, I will be getting microphones for my kit very soon. This will make my audio quality of the kit a whole lot better! So stay tuned and show some love so I can buy those mics!
already sounds great so looking forward to it
omg youre so tuff
Thank you! 😊
Killer!
Love it keep it up man
I’m trying to do that song. Neal also played that in the buddy rich big band.
Yup he did!
Great job so proud of you

little too much drum for me

jazzy 😎
Actually amazing. The professor would be proud. Gotta say tho, maybe its a editing goof, but rhe timing on some hits were a lil funky. Still absolutely amazing tho, keep it up!
yes some of the hits in the beginning were either to fast or too slow. I believe it all can be blamed on the volume of it in my ears!
sorry but crap
care to elaborate?
Tuff
What timing is this in?
7/8 at the start, then briefly 12/8, then 4/8, and right into 12/8 at the bridge
I gyatt something on my eye
